New Grower here. Currently on week 8 of RQS Green Gelato - Question: For my next grow, can I use my current soil or is it recommended that I start with new soil each time. Sorry if this is a stupid question but can't find a straight answer on this online...thanks in advance.

If its true soil you need to refortify it and ideally run it though a clean period where it gets really hot in a garbage bag. If its soiless you can rinse it out and rebuffer if its core and go from there. It could also benefit from a hot resting period to cook anything out of it and encourage good bacteria to flourish. Obviously like others have said below, if the medium was contaminated by something chemical "bleach" or biological "pests/fungas/virus exct." it would not be good to reuse it till its cooked. The trick is noticing that before you reuse it. If growing outdoors I just mix everything into my existing soil bed and grow in it, the wilderness takes care of it mostly. Good Luck!

Don't waste your time............new plants, new soil. The only way to avoid many problems.

As a beginner I’d recommend against it, but can be done. Mouse outlined things well

Personally, I am reusing soil for a second grow and replacing it before a third. Seems like less yields each time. If you have the space, you can put enzymes into old soil like a compost to recharge it but it takes at least 6 mos.

They recommend new, but you can use old. You can run into issues though disease, pests and depending on what you were feeding with nutrient defiencies. If thats all you got or on a budget go for it. If you had disease or pests chuck it. Its a risk and goes up exponentially each use. You can also remix with some new just to help build nutrients.
