Seedling falling over

SativaSteve420
SativaSteve420started grow question 10 months ago
If my seedling looks too heavy…like it’s about to fall over, should I brace it with a tooth pick or just let it be? Did I over water it? I ended up just pushing some of the top soil up against the stem to brace it for now. Hopefully this will strengthen soon

Sujetala con un palillo. Esta pesa por las gotas de agua que hay sobre sus hojas

Yes you should. Increase light or lower it closer to get it to strengthen. Please select me as you answer so I can be entered to will the grower of the month contest. Please and thank you!

Yes, You should use some sort of support, bud. Look at my diary. I have the same plants age and I'm using japaniese chopsticks to hold them. Good luck to You, mate.

I ended up polishing some Top soil over to help brace the stem. Seems fine now

Just leave it alone it's fine. It's normal for some seedlings to fall over. And I will even say some of my best grown plants started like that :)

The light is not intense enough, it is stretching too much to reach the light. You did right proping her back up. 👍🏻

I have found the seedling falls over when the light is too far away or doesn’t have enough power and/or if there isn’t enough air movement to strengthen the stem. I’d also suggest staking it up with a popsicle stick or toothpick, then adjusting the light to be closer to the plant. Small watering every couple days keeping the soil moist, but not soaked or dry, should work for the next couple weeks.

She could be damping off. Sprinke a pinch or 2 of cinnamon around her and water in. If it is damping off, it could save her.

Always give support, thats first. Second have oscillating fan, constant wind directly not good, but moving wind is a must.

I prefer stick her with toothpick and lower light down a bit if she continue stretching.
