Is this "whorled phyllotaxy" looking like it to me. Was gonna make a dairy for these things but still can't start anything.

looks like 3 lateral buds per growth node. They often grow out of this. some do not. the ones i have seen all were back to tyical growth pattern after 5-7 nodes.

Yup I’ve heard it called this or triploid. As Steve mentioned sometimes it stays up the apical stem, and sometimes an offshoot takes over and has the trait. Honestly never usually ends up that great for different reasons
