Photos and autos

Hi! As I'm growing some photos and autos in the same tent, side by side... will it be ok to induce flowering and it still not affect the autos harvest? Or should I let them veg and do a bit more canopy management to help keep it low, until the autos are ready to harvest?18/6 now

You can do it , I’ve done it before with the purple punch grow on here . Deffo you get a smaller plant as a result of 12/12 , the auto I had in with the photos ended up around 5 oz so it was a nice little bonus . I’d prioritise the photo plants man and just let the autos chug along at 12/12

Harvest autos before you change light schedule

if you provide the same DLI over 12 hours as you did with a longer light cycle, you will have virtually similar results. It operates under the same rules. how much light per day... in photons.. if you give more over 12 hours to match what you gave over 18 or 20, then it will have similar effect on plant, similar growth potential. it's proportional to hours. so if you had your light at 66% over 18 hours, you could just bump it to 100% over 12 and not adjust the height. otherwise lowing the light can increase intensity, but it reduces area of good coverage too. Do whatever you normally do to kick it up a notch for photoperiods in bloom and you'll be fine.

Never a good idea, but now that you are in this situation, honestly, your best solution would be to get a second tent and seperate them. However, considering that your autos will take anywhere between 7 and 10 weeks once they start flowering, that is a huge amount of management that will need to be undertaken on your photoperiod plants and to then expect them to maintain health in the same pots for a further 7 to 10 weeks once they start flowering is an enormous ask. In view of these facts, I would suggest concentrating on maximizing your harvest with the photoperiod plants and wear any losses associated with flowering your autos at 12/12, as yes, flowering autos at 12/12 will reduce yield. Next time grow all autos or all photos and never mix the two and you will avoid a whole heap of issues.
