My Purple Star Killer plant is 7 weeks old and, after topping, shows foliage overcrowding. Did LST on main lateral shoots. The leaves are quite sticky to the touch with a strong herbal smell. Is this normal for this strain? My Mochi plant of the same age is not resinous.

I've had a few of the same strain growing and noticed smell and production differences. Just seems to be a genetic thing with some. Oddly enough the ones I remember were all "purple" type strains from ganjafarmer (purple devil, purple punch, purple skunk) .. Not sure if that really helps u lol, but it's just one of them things each one's different sometimes pretty drastically different.. Best of luck , hope ur girls fill out nicely for you.

It's normal. Defoliation is an acceptable way of thinning out your plant so as to let more light get to the lower portion of your plant.

I seen this very thing happen with my jammy dodgers. Although I didn't have two plants to compare to. He was very short squat and looked similar to yours. He was very sticky to the touch. He yielded me 4oz dry and is fire af. I can't speak to is this normal for this strain.. but I would say the more cannabinoids the plant has the more resinous and sticky it will become. Being this sticky and having a strong smell is a good thing. It's always better then having no smell and not having any cannabinoids. Goodluck finishing it out. 💪
