In soil it is a schedule of plain water/plain water/feed, plain water/plain water/feed.
This is something I have done for 30+ years and it works well for me.
Remember, it is very easy to rescue a slightly under fed plant, but very, very hard to rescue a badly burned over fed plant!

Lot of variables. Strain, how strong you mix your nutes, indoor/outdoor, etc. I try to mix on the lighter side, so I feed every watering typically.
