No, keep it at 100%. 48 hours of darkness before harvest is BS ghetto science. Just keep things as normal as possible then harvest when you are happy with the ripeness and do not stress your plant in any way right before harvest.

Lot of good information listed below. In short its not required and has the potential to do more harm then good. I will harvest after my dark period is over for the normal schedule then keep em dark when they are drying. Good Luck!

When you turn down the light, you reduce photosynthesis rate. So you can do it if you want, but it's like giving up in front of the finish line. But the 48 hours of darkness is heresy: when in the dark, photosynthesis rate is negative. Emphasis on "negative", because as it may be good to have the sap down to the root when harvesting (the last night is quite enough for that), if you let your plant too much time in the dark, it start to shrink. Also, any dark time before harvesting is completly useless if you turn the light up to cut your plants because the photosynthesis rate is positive again and the sap start to rise to the flowers. Cut in the dark at the end of the last night, or with a very very little amount of light, and start drying straight away.

No. But you may want to experiment simply to save energy and equipment life. You can also turn down during flip to avoid extra stressing the plant at first stretch and bud.

Probably won't have a measurable effect either way.. but until i see hard quantitative data that shows a statistically significant increase to some positive aspect of weed, it's "magic." Not testing a hypothesis is a sign of avoidance. This is how the 'supplement' market work in america. Make claims based on untested products... then never test them... when they are tested, they rarely show the same correlations as eating those vitamins as part of a normal diet in your food. A 25 year study with 10s of thousands of people tracked showed as much. If vitamin C helps you be less often sick, it is only true if you get it from from food source and the pill form has no such correlation. There is more to their 'effects' than the vitamin molecul in question. catalysts, enzymes and whatever else in the food is important to the effect being realized. Light powers growth. Ripening is 'growth.' This would be an uphill battle to be worth it. It wouldhave to overcome the benefits of 2 days of energy used to build the molecules that make up the plant - including maintaiing trichomes etc. I've heard that some lab did an informal study and there may be some potential that it increases potency, but in the years since i heard this (by mouth, not read) i;ve come to doubt it more and more. either way, it won't make a difference you can feel or see. The typpe of diffeences would need precise equipment to do so. The only real life difference it may impact is longevity of the buds... at some point it falls below a threshold of 'quality' and if it starts at a slightly higher point it'll stay above that threshold longer.... but, again.. i highly doubt it matters. do what makes you feel good. It probably doesn't have a noticeable effect either way. Your eyes can not test potency. when you smoke or vape it you won't tell a difference between a fraction of a percent potency difference. 2 days out of 60 flower phase days will not have a huge impact on much of anything as far as anything positive... could obviously cause catastrophe in 2 days if you wanted to, lol.

There is no study for it, just big possibilities for mold. In those two active days with light you would win more. I used darkness, see no difference vs the ones grew normally .
