at this point, that growth can't be "refocused" elsewhere... it's already grown.
if you don't want to bother with larf, maybe lolipop it.. the top cola might be a worthwhile contiguous bud.
Growth patterns vary but typical plant i want about 18" deep zone of buds developing by the end of any remaining vege growth. I try to limit the lower weak brancing, but some happens regardless. I've got some lanky plants that have about a 24" deep canopy that loosk to be developing decent buds (judging by how many pistils are at bud sites FD25). Never really know what is best for a plant unless familiar with how it grows/stretches.
