russrahlanswered grow question 4 years ago Hi there! Your plants are looking nice and healthy! As for your question, there are a few answers to it depending on what you are going to do with them. If your plan on putting them under a screen then some of these lower sites can be used in your screen. But if you are planning on just growing them up then a lot of it can be removed. There is a guy named Kyle Kushman and he has some great videos on this exact topic. Typically if you are not gonna scrog you want to Remove everything bellow the top 3 nodes on all your main branches, and remove all “sucker” branches from the bottom and mid section that won’t reach the top canopy. This should be done about a week before flipping to flower to give it time to recover. Also remove all large leaves pointing inwards to maximize light. I would advise you to google Kyle Kushman or YouTube him and learn all about his techniques he has used for decades to maximize yield. Basically the plant sends its energy from the roots up to the top of the plant and if you have say 200 bud site to feed on the way to the top then a lot of energy is wasted on lower buds with less then ideal light and not getting adequate energy to the top sites. Now if you remove half of those lower site say, then it only needs to stop and feed 100 sites to the top instead of 200, drastically increasing you energy to the top sites in the best light. Hope this help, Cheers 💨
