I always put my veg plants into a 32 hr dark, before flipping the timer and bloom light.
The theory, and we all subscribe to some theory that others doubt, is that it tricks the photoreceptor proteins to tell the plant to start the flowering process.
I see evidence of pistils between 10-14 days. That may be normal anyway, but what it does buy, IMO, a little more stretch to start the cycle.
I see a lot posts where folks want more height, stretch going into flower.
I have never had a mold problem, as I use a grow cabinet in a semi-arid part of the country. My humidity levels are a sad 30-35% on average.
