Some strains never get amber trichomes, no matter how long you wait and some strains have 70% amber after only 4 weeks of flowering........it all comes down to genetics. If your plants have 98-99% brown pistils/hairs, you are in the harvest zone. Amber/brown trichomes are full of degraded THC that has been converted to CBD and CBN, giving you buds that can make you sleepy rather than high. If you want maximum THC, 70 cloudy and 30 clear is about ideal. More light, not less light will cause the THC to degrade into CBD and CBN faster and give you amber trichomes if that is what you really want, but at 14 weeks and without any pictures, I would say harvest now anyway, another few days is not going to make your buds any more potent, just more couch locking.

hard to say without pictures / context. If the buds are fully ripened, i'd go by the trichomes... even cloudy is a sign of deterioration - the cell cannot maintain itself as well as before. If you still have a lot of white hairs (correlation not causation) and the 'look' long (ripening still), then it's not time to scope the trichomes yet anyway. Trichomes exist at different ages all over long before the last week or two. some strains, historically 'sativa,' don't always amber up much. You may have caught that genetic trait. the way things are interbred, that trait is not solely 'sativa' anymore... in fact terms of indica and sativa are rather unrepresentative of reality nowadays. Just because something ins supposedly 50/50 doesn't mean it displays traits at 50/50.. and certainly doesn;t mean further offspring in later genarations adhere to these percentages at all either. Indica and sativa traits, if they were isolated (untested so skepticism is natural), are no longer so with any amount of interbreeding.

Some strains trichomes won't turn amber no matter how long you wait. What does the rest of the plant look like? How many white pistils? Are the buds getting any bigger? Have they slowed water uptake?

Hey there man I would say yes imitation of nature should help the plant finish up. But on the other hand it is an auto so maybe not. It would be a good experiment todo with an
