Working on a Micro grow project I am using a 18 inch tall trashcan fully covered in reflective material, and have a 5 cfl bulb light fixture on the ceiling. Will be growing autoflower plants. Would I have a higher yield growing one plant and giving it a little more space or two?

You'll get a higher yield growing one plant and practice training instead of 2 plants that are fighting fot the free space. BTW you'r building a Space bucket , you can also add led stips inside of the bucket , maybe a google search with the keys words "space bucket" will help you a bit ,, you'll find examples to compare your idea with some real setups

My little experience With autos. I tried to harvest With 1, 2 and 3 galon pots. I will recommend at least 2 galon(Harvest 35gr aprox). A bigger pots were always better for me.

Just don't use CFLs, you are better of using LED bulbs.
