you don't have to transplant it if you pay attention to its chemical composition, I have already grown a bush of almost 2 cubic meters in a smaller pot by placing the pot on the ground, cutting a few larger holes in it with a short scalpel, and letting the roots dig deep, they will find their way, and if the soil underneath is of good quality, then you have won the jackpot without any major plant stress.. if the soil is not of good quality, then dig a hole, fill it up, and plant it on top of it.

Yeah do go for it. I do it all the time except form 5 gallon fabric pot to 65 gallon fabric pot. That shouldn't be too hard to manage. What I do recommend and it does kind of suck is using a razor blade to cut your plant out of the old pot. Make sure its on the dry side and that will prevent the soil ball from being too disturbed. I would adda bottom layer of soil in the new pot and cut the plant out and center it how you like then make sure when backfilling to press the soil into the side of the pots to get them to swell instead of sagging and loose soil will give you annoying early runnoff on the sides. I try to pick it up from the bottom of the rootball and support the plant by the main stem with my other hand at soil level. I wouldn't burry the bag in the new one. if you really wanted to reuse the old fabric pot you could sw it shut again, or even a zipper. they sell some pots with zippers on them for doing it. i tell myself im gonna make them one day but. i dont use that many and for the size plants i end up growing its not a big deal to consume a single 5 gallon pot. Well I would fill it and lollipop the girl for some air flow it also increases airflow through out the plant . So yes fill the pot up no matter if it 50 or 30 .. stem rot has only happen when I didn’t lollipop ..

it's fabric? is that the issue, getting it off and placing into new pot? fold/roll it down the sides... use a twowel to loosen any roots from the sides. you could cut holes in it too. do consider how much vege growth you have left... you do get bigger plants from bigger pots, but if flower has started, you only have 3-4 weeks left of vege growth. based on size of plant i doubt 1- gallon would limit the size much at this point, but i can't assume how long your nights are, either. I'm sure a 10gal is enough for a 6' tall plant, lol. usually 'they' say 1gal = 1 ft of vertical, but not sure if that scales well beyond typical context of indoor grows. 6'-8' is an effort to be conservative in my estimate. The growth isn't linear, so at some point that 1gal=1ft would be a false assumption.

Fill your 50 gal bag, cut some slits in the bottom of your 20 gal bag then sit it on top of your 50 gal bag. The roots will grow down into the fresh soil and with no disturbance. You might want to anchor the 20 gal so that it does not topple over. This technique is easy and effective.

If you're really worried you can definitely transplant and get better roots and generally a bigger plant. If you don't care about the pot you can definitely cut it to make it easier but I have also turned it at an angle and pulled the corners of the pot away and once you get it slightly pulled away all the way around you should be able to pull it all the way out to transfer. As long as you don't disturb the roots a ton I've never had issues. Goodluck on what you decide
