Best yield comes from DWC ( deep water culture ) followed by hydroponics in either rockwool or pure perlite, then coco/perlite then soil. Its all about getting air into the roots, the more air the better the yield, as long as you can also feed the plant and keep the roots hydrated too. Thats why DWC produces the most- the plant has oxygen and nutes and water avaliable at all times in the perfect ratio so it grows the best. Now thats purely yield. Do you care about the taste? You get a better terp profile and many people argue better tasting buds in soil or coco/perlite. Organic soil grown buds might taste the best but you will get lower yields VS hydro grown buds. Thats a fact. I know there is one outdoor super soil/living soil grow guy out there claiming 10lb yields off one plant in organic living super soil, but hes outside and with enough time and space its not hard to grow trees- it really isnt. Its time and space mostly. Big roots take time to grow but big roots = big plants = big yields. So if your indoors and want the biggest yields but also something a bit easier than DWC go hydro in coco/perlite. Im not a fan of coco and would go pure perlite and clay balls but im old school like that, If you want best taste and super easy go soil/perlite/coco mix, and use weak mineral nutes and its easy, and yields are nothing to sneeze at if you use around 30% of each- 30/30/30 soil, perlite/coco. You wont need an Auto watering system like a pure hydro set up or DWC system, and can water by hand once a week. Use nutes very lightly to avoid def or tox issues until flower and then up the strength of the nutes and watch her get heavy. Its that simple if you want it to be.
