Hi growers! How do you dry your plants when your greenhouse is being used for other plants finishing their flowering phase and you don’t have any other greenhouses? Thanks a lot! 🌱

I hang mine to dry. I guess it doesn't matter if you hang them up, or let them lay on a grid/net or whatever. Both can be done in various places as long as its dark, has gentle air exchange, and within the right temperature range. Happy hunting.

I’d use a separate small drying space rather than the flowering greenhouse. A cheap little tent, wardrobe or large cardboard box can work surprisingly well as long as it’s dark and you can exchange air. The important part is the environment: aim roughly for 16–20°C and 55–62% RH, with gentle air exchange but no fan blowing directly on the flowers. Hanging whole plants or large branches helps slow the dry. Around 7–14 days is a much nicer target than trying to dry them quickly. I definitely wouldn’t dry them alongside flowering plants—the light, warmer temperatures and usually different humidity requirements make that a pretty poor compromise for both.

don't use a greenhouse.. you just need a controlled climate and darkness.. a tiny closed space isn't necessarily the best option anyway, unless it also helps you control proper RH/Temp. avoid direct breeze/wind as that'll only further increase the difference in surface drying compared to interior of the flower material.... do your best with what you have. If you get dry rot or some other issue down the line, do better next time. :P if it's fine as you smoke it, you are doing enough relative to circumstances. Some of my bud is stored for up to a year. Need to take dry/cure/storage more seriously in such contexts. You'll know... as you smoke it.. it's either good or you notice some sort of degredation or issue. proof is in the pudding.

Got a closet available? If your lights are still on in your tent, you cant use it. Light will destroy the work you did to this point. You just need a dark space to hang them to dry out. I cut whole plants and hang them in a closet with a small fan circulating air but no wind to the plant when my tent isnt available. People dry different ways and you will hear the 60/60 rule. I dont do that. I watched a video from a commercial grower (fullcrop sciences on youtube) and he explains it well. I use his method. Cut whole plants and trim the big fan leaves. Let them hang till dry (he says like a stale lucky charm marshmallow lol) in the same environment. If you finished at 75 degrees f and 50 percent humidity, dry in the same range. They dry a little faster but not a bad way as long as you dont let it over dry. I spent 14 dollars on a moisture meter. You stab it directly into the stem and when its between 10-15 percent its ready for cure phase. To cure he recommends getting a tote that is NOT air tight. Trim the buds after drying and toss them in the tote in the same environment. Let them sit for 3-4 days sifting them 1 or 2 times a day. After that they are ready to jar. Worked fantastic on my last grow. No burping jars or stressing on 60/60 rule. He explains the 60/60 rule as if you took a plant out of 45 percent humidity and put it in a room with 60 percent humidity, the buds aren't drying to begin with. They are actually taking in moisture from the higher humidity. Then once stabilizing they start drying. Its does slow the process down which is what most people try to do, but isnt really necessary. Im sure people will disagree, but worked like a champ for me last grow with much less effort.
