As the title states. Diary G3.2.26 on my profile. Today is day 53 flower, estimated to be done between 4-10 days from now, but I’ve spotted thrips.p Not enough to cause problems now, but enough to want to deal with this asap. I don’t really want to wash my bud, and now is early

Finish the grow and then clean the room with a chlorine solution. You can succesfully grow with thrips, they don't cause that much damage if they're kept down, but they're almost impossible to get completely rid of if you don't go full protocol zero and clean everything thoroughly before popping another seed. It sucks if you have mother plants. Bud wash works very well with bugs, if it's only a light infestation at harvest time you don't necessarily have to do the full 3 bucket wash but can rinse the plants well with a shower, but you're past the point where not washing at all is a viable option if you don't want to be inhaling cooked bugs. Bud washing doesn't hurt the potency or flavor at all, so don't worry about that part.

Your window is not open yet - I do not see any amber triochromes yet on your pictures. Keep looking for them from day to day. I would suggest to wash the infested leaves with lukewarm water/towel. Since your going to wash your buds anyway no issues so far

If the infestation is really light and you’re only 4–10 days from harvest, I wouldn’t harvest early because of the thrips. They depend on living plant tissue, so after harvest and during drying they won’t continue multiplying in your buds. I’d manually remove any you can find, remove badly affected leaves and avoid spraying the flowers this late. With only a few thrips, I personally wouldn’t bud wash either. Just keep an eye on them and let the trichomes decide when it’s harvest time.

Best to ignore whatever the breeder guesstimated the flower length to be.. simply observe and react. You are much longer than 4 days for sure.. even 10 will be too early. Those calyxes are not done plumping -- you can tell by the long white hairs. Never had to remove thrips from drying buds before, so i have no idea what kind of hassle that is. If they mostly damage leaves and not munching and shitting on the buds, i'd wait. Only had thrips once and they died off before harvest, but only recall leaves getting damaged. would you salvage some bud, right now? sure... certainly won't have much sleepy-time effect... until you come down and then it'll probably knock you out, lol. higher highs tend to have deeper troughs.

Don't harvest early and definitely DO NOT spray your plants with ANYTHING. Yellow sticky traps are your best option. Buds still look 2-3 weeks away from harvest. Otherwise, ignore the thrips, they only suck sap from the leaves and should not go near the buds............not ideal, but probably your safest option. At this stage, a thrips "attack" won't affect growth, you are at the maturation stage, so the thrips will have minimal impact on the final ripening process.
