Dripping Wet for Clones

Dripping wet inside with these cuttings. I leave them like this for 2 days, then slowly crack an opening to lower the humidity level a little. A few days later, a little more. I'm using potting soil this time not coco coir cubes like usual. Will it work like normal?

Think someone will get a huge candy-stripe swollen internode at the base. Just hope the dripping wet clones aren't too sticky for the grinding. https://tenor.com/de/view/cremita-lub-gif-13468765

Yes, it will work, but keep the soil damp—not muddy. Unlike inert coco coir, potting soil holds water much longer and contains built-in nutrients. Because your humidity dome keeps things dripping wet, soggy soil can easily suffocate new roots or cause stem rot. Your plan to slowly crack the dome open is perfect. Just make sure the soil stays like a wrung-out sponge so the emerging roots get enough oxygen to breathe.

Yes, it works the same way, but potting soil holds more water than coco cubes, so the main risk is rot. Keep the soil lightly moist, not soggy, and don't water again until the top starts to dry. Wet soil under a dome is the classic way to get stem rot or mold. A light mix with plenty of perlite (about 30%) works best, and a rooting gel or powder helps. Your humidity plan is good, just watch the condensation: if drops run down the walls all day, open it a bit earlier. Keep the light gentle (about 100-200 PPFD) and 18-24h. Roots usually show in 7-14 days. Skip all feed until the roots are out, since fresh soil already has enough.
