New York Diesel is one of those varieties of cannabis whose flavor does not leave anyone indifferent. It usually either fascinates you and becomes your favorite flavor or you just don't like it. There is no middle ground, but that is not all, because this plant is responsible for one of the greatest revolutions of the cannabis sector. Want to know why? I'll tell you below.
What genetics does New York Diesel have?
NYC Diesel came from a bag of marijuana that Soma, the breeder of Soma Seeds, acquired in New York. It’s probable that those buds were East Coast Sour Diesel, which at that time was widespread in the city of skyscrapers. The ECSD is an elite clone from the USA that comes from the Chemdog line, meaning that it contains Lemon Thai and Old Paki Kush.
From this weed came seeds that turned out to be all females, probably S1 descendants of a self-pollination. Soma crossed one of these females with his stallion Hawaïan/Afgana in order to obtain seeds with this genetics.
The offspring turned out to be a bomb, similar in taste to the mother Diesel, but with greater indica load and stability. From the moment the New York Diesel hit the market it became a resounding success, both in terms of sales and in terms of prizes won. One of those packages produced a very special phenotype that we have kept ever since, which served to stabilize our own feminized version.
What's New York Diesel by PEV Seeds like?
In general, it is very similar to the original genetics, but our copy stands out for its ease of cultivation. The structure, leaves, and morphology of the flowers is indica, but the effect is clearly sativa.
With little care you can get a good performance, but if you treat it well and it doesn't lack anything it will reward you with a huge production of bright buds.
