Flowering nicely, starting to stack a little already. Did a 50% defoliation and removal today. going to remove some more popcorns and climate blockers tommorow. There are allot of tops. I have to train myself on training plants better to dial in how many cola tops i want and get them at the same height. Not a strong smell coming off but when you smeel the fingers , Ooohhh its so smooth ans sweet. This is looking like its going to be a big year for the tent. I am liking the Canna nutes. Delay after delay on dripper setup i am now puttin three more valves in for flushing off flush water reservoir, just waiting for parts and assembly. Home Assistant is fantastic at controlling entire setup! Lets roll with it.

So starting week 3 or week 2 of veg. I upped my feed schedule to 4 times a day as well as upped the ppm to 550. Decided to finally named the plants. Left hand side is Amy and the right is Rose. I have been using doctor who characters for my plant names 🤓. Well it’s day 17 and rose is looking really good and robust. Amy on the other hand is still a bit small and looking like she has some sort of deficiency. Even though both plants have been treated the same. I am going to just keep doing what I am doing and hope she will catch up in time. She is slowly looking better and better. Other than that I am hoping to start my LST at the end of this week. I will update this week as it progresses. This actually about day 11 after sprout and starting veg. With that being said I did start a little light LST on rose. My last grow I had a similar issue where one plant was half the size of the other of the same strain. It made flowering awkward in my setup. So I am really going to concentrate on keeping rose as close to the same height as Amy. I’ll use LST as much as I can then I will be scrogging them as best I can.

Fantastic variety I was very impressed with the trunger of the pistils that has produced this wonderful variety, from photos you can notice a violet traits, while the other no, has a very intense aroma has a aftertaste of chocolate and coffee notes, predominantly savialy, for the day, has a good structure with interior away from each other.

I raised the EC to ~2000, lowered ORP to ~100 and didn't see any tip burn yet, will observe the plant and might increase it even more, haven't grown this strain yet. No smell yet. Roots are looking good, maybe a little stained due to Universol Yellow which has a strong yellow color. Did more LST and defoliation, with the stretch I might reach the frame for Scrog next week? So I noticed a mutation that has been there for a while but I only noticed it this week, this plant is giving me a little headache with the slow growths on top and mutations but mid week it started to grow more, maybe it is coming back right now since the roots are doing good from start and the plant laid a good foundation before it takes off now? I had worse starts with great results. Since stretch definitely started mid week and flowering is starting I will count it as flower mid week but will mark is as flower on GD starting next week. Also added predator mite pouches as precaution, better safe than sorry. Values are average of the day. Been another smooth week. A few of the plants are starting to show signs that they are moving towards to finish line. Seeing some swelling, pistils starting to brown, and some beautiful purples coming out in some of the buds. Been debating on giving them a dose of dry koolbloom, but I will probably just keep them running on the maxibloom until flush since they look pretty happy. It's hard to show this girls progress since shes in the far back corner, but shes stacking some nice golf ball size buds. I'm seeing some purple on some of the buds. Cant get in there to smell her either, but I bet yall wouldnt turn down a bud off her when shes ready🤣

Flipped these girls to flower on day 26. Most of them have been looking good and growing pretty fast. I topped off the reservoir and added a little maxibloom. All 8 plants are drinking a total of about 2 gallons of water per day now. I kinda slacked on training them this week, but I will try to get them spread out some over the next week. I have been pulling a few fan leaves from the bottom so they can get good air circulation.

The harvest of my dear Stella was supposed to happen on August 4th, but didn’t begin actually until August 9th. I decided to allow her to dry out a bit before beginning the harvest, but I had some other difficulties which made her dry out a whole lot before I ever even got started. You can tell how dry by looking at the pics and video. Luckily, the dryness was limited to her larger leaves. She was already quite dry on the 9th when I started, and was more so by the 12th when I finished. Even after the advanced drying, her wet trimmed weight was still quite a bit. I’ll list the weights all together in a bit. It took 4 days to get the whole plant trimmed, weighed, and hung up for final drying. She was hung up from August 12th till Friday, August 19th. I got busy harvesting another plant while she was hanging up, and just let her be. On August 19th I took all of her branches down and removed the buds to get the true harvest weight of her buds alone. Let’s get to the weight of the whole thing. The overall wet-trimmed weight of the plant was 18.329 ounces with the buds and branches combined. I was a forgetful idiot and forgot to get the weight of the dry buds on the branches before removing the buds. So all we’re left with is the actual harvest weight of the dry buds alone. The overall dry bud weight, or actual “true” harvest weight of the smokable bud is: 7.317 ounces. That’s a wonderful amount of freshly harvested bud to cure. All of the buds were put into 8 quart sized jars filled roughly 3/4 full, and 1 pint sized jar, also 3/4 full. Each jar has a hygrometer as well as 58% bóveda packs to help aid the curing process. This is the 2nd DarkStar plant I’ve harvested, and both were very large plants. I used a scrog method the first time with a net that spread the whole plant out taking up the entire 4x4 area of the tent. This time I wanted to let her grow more naturally. She got so large that I had to bend almost all of her taller branches over using HST methods. I had to bend 3-5 branches over more than once. By doing that, once her buds began to fatten up she got too heavy and needed to be supported just to stand upright. Toward the end she had to literally be tied up to the side of the tent. Stella (DarkStar) was a wonder to grow, and she gave me a good amount of clones that will soon be harvested themselves. It has been a journey with Stella, and I’m happy that the journey is now complete. Happy growing everyone!
