Week 5 of flower and seed production for all these plants has started in earnest. We cleaned up the tent somewhat and took down all the males after having done their job. Alls left is to wait for finish now. The nute deficiency appears to have corrected itself now that we’ve balanced out the ratios a little more. The WPM is no match for the sodium bicarbonate but still gonna have to keep on top of that to the end of the grow. Full fumigation of the grow spaces will be required - multi-day process I am not looking forward to. Time cleaning is time not growing, sadly. We’re coasting to the finish now but should still have some decent updates on our super secret seed harvesting method once they’ve fully matured😉👍. Hope everyone’s well and grow’n that straight 🔥. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. In the event that does take place we’ve got a single clone of each strain from the previous pollen chuck to sit in the tent with them so they can make babies for the next few months. The whole point of the last year was to start making some foundational genetics for a third generational cross we could call our own. If you’ve been following along than you’ll know that it’s been anything but easy. Our previous pollen picks didn’t pan out at all so we’re back to the drawing board with a new option from ExoticSeeds. This’ll be a 10 plant run with 5 regs and 6 strains for pollination including the strain itself. We’re running in a 2x4 MarsHydro grow tent all powered by a Mars Sp6500. That’s a little more than 600w packed into half the recommended footprint😳. Why? you ask - because we like our buds big and overcompensatory😂. Really, I’m just of the mind that we can pack more light into this space than recommended and get much better results. The math doesn’t lie. At least not as long as I wasn’t high when using the calculator again….. Many thanks to @MarsHydroLED for the opportunity to test run the equipment👊. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. The beauty of this system is that it’s literally a 1 (one) component system for the entirety of the plants grow cycle. It really has changed the game in terms of ease of feeding and maintenance. It’s also very versatile and seems to provide everything needed across multiple different strains in the same ratios. Keep your eyes peeled for these folks. Pretty much a guarantee that they absolutely blow up once more people know about them👍👌😎. Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. Many thanks to @Exoticseeds for the chance to give these beans a go👍👊. Pollination Strains: Holy Surfer S1 - this is one of the focal points for this cycle. A fellow growmie was kind enough to ship over some S1 genetics I took an interest in. The only ask back was that if I did cross it to send a few his way for testing👍. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. Still haven’t even tried the strain myself yet but it was available at the right time and interesting enough to make a salad with. Big thanks to AMS who’ve been nothing short of an excellent seedbank to collaborate with. Expect similar growth characteristics to that of the Northern Lights. Better resilience however. Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magic👌. White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire 🔥🤟😎👍.

It has been a pretty good week for the girls. They are well into flower now. Unfortunately I noticed some brown spots starting to show up. I suspect the soil got a bit hot, so even though this is amended soil mix I watered them with a bit of run off at the end of this week to get some of those excess nuts out. They are starting to smell, and it’s quite a floral aroma, something I haven’t tried before. I imagine they will take another 3 weeks before the finish line... maybe even 4. It’s really nice so see how even they look, the same pheno 8 out of 8. Hope you’re enjoying the ride! 🍀

Week 4: Growth Spurts and New Challenges Continued Growth and Health As we move into the fourth week, the plants are showing impressive growth. Their leaves are a lush, vibrant green, and the stems are becoming stronger. The transition to the larger 11-liter fabric pots has clearly paid off, providing the roots with ample space and better aeration. Adjusting Nutrient Levels Given their positive response to the nutrients, I decided to continue with 2/3 of Terra Aquatica Tripart feeding schedule, adjusting slightly to meet their increasing demands. Here's the updated feeding plan for this week: CalMag: 2.5 ml/l (Starting EC before adding nutrients: 0.50 mS/cm) Grow: 1.5 ml/l Bloom: 1.0 ml/l Micro: 0.5 ml/l EC: 1.2 mS/cm (600 ppm PPM-500/TDS) pH: 6.0 Each plant is watered with approximately 20% runoff to ensure there's no nutrient buildup in the coco mix. I will maintain this nutrient level until the pre-flowering stage to avoid the risk of nutrient burn due to over-fertilization. Weather Improvements and Adjustments The weather has been steadily improving, with temperatures expected to rise to around 25°C starting Wednesday, accompanied by abundant sunshine. This upcoming forecast is excellent news for my plants, as I anticipate a final growth spurt before flowering begins. Every centimeter of growth counts at this stage, and I'm optimistic about maximizing their potential under these favorable conditions. Strengthening with Wind Exposure On days with good weather, I move the plants out of the greenhouse to expose them to natural wind. This practice helps strengthen their stems, improving overall stability. Additionally, the wind creates a more challenging environment for pests, helping to keep them at bay. Smart Watering Strategy I only water the plants when the pots feel noticeably lighter. This encourages the roots to search for water, promoting the development of a stronger and more extensive root system. This method helps ensure the plants remain healthy and resilient. Pest Management: Observations and Actions At the beginning of the third week, I noticed dark discolorations on the undersides of some leaves. A few days later, these spots turned into yellow patches. I am still unsure about the cause of these spots. To prevent a potential insect infestation, I sprayed all the leaf surfaces, both top and bottom, with a mildly dosed neem oil mixture. Since then, the spots have not spread further. Because these discolorations are only affecting the lower leaves, they are not causing me significant concern at the moment. Regular inspections and preventive measures are crucial to maintaining the health of the plants and ensuring that any issues are caught early. Decision Against LST At first I have decided against using LST. But some of your comments made me try some LST on two of my plants. I choose Tangie and Gorilla cookies to try out and learn some stuff. Blue dream and Banana purple punch stay without any training. They are growing rapidly, with new leaves appearing almost daily. The stems are thickening, and the overall structure of the plants is robust and healthy. The combination of a stable environment, appropriate nutrient levels, and diligent care is proving successful. 🌳 Week 13: Well, they're happy... almost too happy! The canopies are filling up again and getting incredibly dense down below. Especially with the squatter, Indica-leaning strains, I'm honestly getting concerned that they might be too dense, and cause mold issues. We do not want that! So, they all came out of the tent again and got their most aggressive cleanup yet. I took more bottom branches off and made more clones, and then also just cut out some other smaller branches, particularly ones that were growing back inward or in some cases even crossing over others. The differences between the indicas and sativas are starting to become more apparent as the plants stretch, and some of the sativas are almost 16" tall. I actually ended up topping a couple of the very tallest branches before they stretched any further, again in an effort to keep the top of the canopy as level as possible. I'm also experimenting with using some wire rings as inserts to spread out the top of the canopy, and pretty pleased with the initial results.

About to go on holiday for two weeks, my mate looks after them like a boss, By now I know a lot more About light and realise I need another light especially for flowering, the plan is to order a 240w quantum board, 301b Samsung chips just as I go on holiday to take delivery on return, this takes a bit longer than expected to order light, I leave for holiday around end of week 5 veg

I am going to let her get a little more established for another week at least before I increase the nutrient cycling with an active bacteria culture like Recharge again. - I water about every 2-3 days a little bit to always keep the soil a little damp. As I understand it in organics, you don't want the soil to ever really dry out completely like with salt based nutrients. - Showed sex around 20 or so (F) - Still the biggest plant in the garden. Extremely vigorous growth! - Inter-nodal spacing is medium, what I would say is perfect. Worm Feeding: - This week I fed my worms about a pound or so total of: Banana, mango, dill, tomatoes, carrots, strawberries, aloe filet, green beans, covered in a dash of oyster shell and alfalfa meal. - I layer down some canna leaves, layer diced up worm food, sprinkle dry amendments (kelp, oyster shell, neem, etc.), layer canna leaves, then replace bedding and they are happy! - Creating the food layer protected by the green manure gives the worms a nice buffer zone to move freely through eating as much as they want. - This method is inspired by Herbin Farmer on Youtube. Hi guys So day 6 of the flip and the screen is nice and full I will now let the nodes and bud sites stretch up, connecting autopots up tomorrow with just water for a week, I had to wait as needed a new air pump for the resivour. Blue cheese is a bit droopy also due to them needing water but have perked back up now. I raised the lights as I noticed the purple stems so obviously to much wattage set on the light. I am changing nutes to shogun for the autopot system, hence just the water for a week. On the whole looking good but a long way to go.

Наконец обрезал все лишние веерные листья, не меньше часа провозился. В результате я уже вижу, что часть будущего урожая оказалась под сеткой, да и сами растишки планировалсь выше где-то на 5-10см.(можно было позже на неделю-две переключить на цветение, и раньше перестать заправлять ветки под сетку, на будущее). Соответственно боковой досвет получился высоковато для таких компактных растений. Его можно легко поднять, а вот опускать под сетку я даже и не планировал - нужно разбирать всю конструкцию, оставлю как есть в этот раз. "Красная" растишка зацвела на пару дней раньше, потому и тормознула раньше "желтой", и в результате теперь уже заметно ниже. Однако то, что я вижу сейчас - очень даже обнадёживает, продолжаю колдовать.😎 Переключился на нижний обдув. Спасибо, что заглянули, и будьте здоровы! 🙏 Продолжение следует ...😶
