It has been a very uncomfortable week, also known as the "sheep cold". Lots of wind, lots of rain and temperatures down to 5°C at night. I'm glad I built a support frame for the large plants, otherwise a few branches would have broken off. The plants in the pots are doing well, even those planted directly in the garden soil seem to be settling in. There are no pests to speak of. Hey all! 👋 This week is when most of my plants deficiencies started to show, specially on Matcha 😢so to try to fix this problem I decided to use Revive from Advanced Nutrients on both plants (there were some slight indications that Pistachio might be suffering from some of these issues as well) and since last time it worked amazingly well I just decided to do it... and it seems it did its magic! The changes started to become more obvious near the end of the week when finally Matcha started to grow, so I'm happy! Also, since Pistachio is growing well I decided to do some LST on her as well and she took it without problems 😍 I also believe this issue is a mix of nitrogen deficiency and magnesium (mostly this) and I suppose that's because of the heat that's inside the tent and because I'm feeding my plants with bottled water (different brand) that's probably low on that mineral. In my previous grow I used to add tap water to the mix but the water where I used to live was better so I fear that I might end doing more harm than good if I use this water to feed the plants 😵if the issues continues tho I'll get a bottle of Cal Mag and see if things improve. Also, this week's timelapse is long! I barely moved the plants and thanks to that I managed to make a long video. I hope you'll all enjoy it 😁 Thanks for reading! ;)

Todo viene muy bien, aplicamos LST a todas las plantas, exceptuando a 1 que no se que le pasa, presenta manchas en sus hojas y va mutando las manchas a todos los nuevos brotes. A la hora de hacer LST, a 1 de las plantas se le arranco una hoja y en otra de los plantas el tallo se quebró muy apenas, esperemos que no las estresen demasiado.

9/30/18. She still looks great. No burn and no deficiencies so far. I fed her a liter and a half . The pot is now heavy but not totally soaked. I did not water to runoff but the lower portion of the pot is wet. I don't like soaking the pots because the bottoms take ay too long to totally dry and I have had issues watering schedules. 10/5/18 Still doing perfect with minimal attention. Bumped up the amount of Grow Big last feeding with no ill effect. Looking ahead and having weeks before the auto is done I didn't know how to face the upcoming issue of vertical space. Shes too big to LST and I did not want to top her because shes doing incredibly well and want to see what she will produce. I rigged up a scrog contained within the bucket. I did a mod years ago to a smoker which gave me the idea in the middle of the night. I might change out the screen itself since it was just what I had on hand but will see how it works.. The openings are 2.5" so it should suit my needs. I have it set at 8 inches above soil but it is fully adjustable up and down by the nuts on the threaded rod. I plan on keeping the main stem under the screen to induce the plant to keep producing shoots and fill the area. Im pretty excited about trying this and Stay Tuned.

Adding Mephisto Sour Hound to my tent of autos. Really excited about growing some Mephisto Genetics, been hearing amazing things about Mehphisto (I also have a Alien vs Triangle going in a separate diary). This is a free seed I received with my order from Seedsman last fall (BTW Seedsman ROCKS!). This first seed failed to pop so I planted a second and that one popped in 4 days!. My Perpetual Harvest strategy…. Originally my plan was to start 2 seeds each month, but had some seeds from one breeder that did not germinate early in my rotation. Ultimately, this caused single seeds to pop and messed up my 2 at a time plans. But, that seemed to work out OK, because now I think starting one seed every 3 weeks is a better strategy. This should provide me with 4-5 plants at a time, instead of 6. However… Since I need to shut down over the summer because my tent is currently in the attic, I’m starting 2-3 seeds at at time for the last couple of rounds. Plants get fed once weekly on weekends. Seedlings get water only. Plants in vegetation get water and Recharge. Flowering plants get water, Recharge or Big Bloom (Fox Farm). Feeding is done using 2 gallon watering can. Any additional waterings during the week are given on an as needed basis per plant. I lift the plants to help determine which plants are more dry (lighter) and provide water any plants via water bottles and watering spikes. I give each pot a quarter turn every day in an effort to make sure the plants get equal lighting from all sides. I rotate the plant in place by turning the pot 90 degrees (I am not rearranging the layout of the plants in the tent on a daily basis). The soil is an ‘organic super soil’ I mixed myself using organic top soil, organic potting soil, organic compost, organic peat moss, organic perlite, organic vermiculite, lime, epsom salt, expanded clay pellets and Jobe’s organic fast start. I am also recycling my soil and water with Recharge when using recycled soil. For plant training I have tried a variety of things, but my plans now are to do LST bending only, no HST anymore. I may decide to go back to HST again in the future, but I’m curious to compare LST training only to see how that goes. Around week 3 I'll do a FIM pinch once there are 4-5 nodes established. And some defoliation around the 3rd week of flowering. I have been doing HST bending and having good results, but think the HST may be causing the plants to take longer to harvest. I hope FIM/defoliation only will help increase harvests while getting me to harvest sooner. I will be focusing this diary on the smoothie strain but you’ll be seeing some other plants in the tent that are not the same strain. I only have room in this tent so bare with me. There are 2 Smoothie, 1 CNC, and 1 Stardawg (dog). The smoothie are the two bigger ones in the back of the tent. Now, the Smoothie from FastBuds is just killin it right now. Since I popped the beans they have done nothing but show signs of greatness. I don’t think this one is gonna slow down much either. I’m going to push these plants harder than my last harvest. I had a really really amazing harvest last time. I was even able to pull sap out of all 4 plants. 2 Zkittles and 2 LSD-25. This was all done by feeding at the right times and keeping a “moist” soil. Also I want add that I ran pretty much the entire line of Nectar for the Gods at a little less then the recommended ratios. This time I plan on going a tiny bit over the recommended ratios just to see what these plants will do. Trust me, if the plants have a bad response I will go back to the recommended ratios. The reason I want to do this is because I really think these auto strains can handle a lot more than a regular flowering cycle plant would. They can handle more stress, that’s for sure. When do you think I should add a compost tea into my regimen? Soon or wait till the plant is a little larger?
