Another weak closer!! Got some burn on one plant probably last nutrients I give her. The leaf spot is back slowly hopefully won't affect outcome worse than it already has. Other than that buds coming along. Girl of the week is the afghan skunk #4. Huuuge buds forming!! Can't wait to see the end of that one, it came outta no where too!!

Day 9 for this girl and roots are touching the water, good growth so far and germinated in less than 24hrs. Pleased with this girl so far as she appears to be strong and stable from the start. Good sign. Can't wait to get her going. Its been a good week, nice healthy growth.. rather vigorous but im not complaining. Might let her go natural this run with no training but we will see. Girls are loving the light! I was bit worried with the smaller gal and leaves pointing up, but with no sign of light-stress or anything else negative I've taken it as a good sign and they are just thriving so yesssss! I'm prone to want to defoliate as I'm use to growing in a much smaller environment (5 gal bucket lol) but I've been good and have only snipped a handful of leaves that were either blocking other bud-sites or restricting airflow. I cannot wait to see what this harvest brings in, I'm hoping for 3-3.5 oz (85-99grams). Now that they are flowering nicely I'm no longer using Gro, just Micro+Bloom with some calmag and silicate. Since my last grow i have a problem with powdery mildew... So on veg. i just spray Sulfur and worked fine... (the smell is terrible....) now i am in flower and found the mildew again... i try a new mixture: dry common horsetail 1 onion 1 garlic cook that for around 1 hour. Then i flux it 1:5 with water. The smell is not so bad and just for 2 days. The leaf and flower not change color or smell. Hopefully it works! i will spray that now every week. Update: Flower Day 20 I start with the Top dressing on all Plants. They start to frost. The powdery mildew spreads :'( i dont know what else i can do?! i spray again!

Aug 24: starting the sixth week of flowering and she’s looking pretty good. Trichomes are developing and the buds are thickening. So far so good. Aug 27: looking close to ready but I’m not in a hurry. Will see in a week or two how it’s progressing.

Week 6 Notes & Observations: P1 is showing signs of issues. Not sure if it’s from the drying out (boron deficit) or from the mites. Wither way hopefully I am covering the situation by both feeding and treating against the mites with spinosad. P2 however is showing a better recovery from the break and seems to be on tack with new growth and training. With all 8 colas now set I just train to finish veg around new year’s day. The next two weeks will just be set up for that ***Update*** P2 lost a cola in training apparently. Upon check up today I noticed that all of the colas were aiming up except for one on the 'good' side, then I noticed that was because it had snapped in training or in the next day turn towards the light... learning a lot with this plant... VPD and PPFD: This week I will hold the humidity in the tent to about 70-75% and temps will be monitored for 70- 75F daytime and 66-71F overnight. Im adjusting my lights and look to control them at ~500ppfd max. Meaning slight increase over last week but mostly just growth increase but will also place on higher supports to increase PPFD to desired levels. Feed & Monitor: ***All feeds with nutes use either a whole ratio or combination of "Veg Mix" and "Bloom Mix" concentrates DILUTED in water until a total ppm of add-in is reached using a (Total Dissolved Solids) TDS Meter measured in PPM (parts per million). The "Veg Mix" concentrate will eventually be added in smaller ratios and "Bloom Mix" concentrate will eventually replace the "Veg Mix" concentrate entirely. The ppm and ratios of each feed will be listed when I feed. Veg mix recipe is on week 2. Bloom Mix recipe is on week 5.*** Day 49 (last feed was day 44) Tested and Calibrated my ph pens. Starting weight from each pot was 18 lbs and 8 oz, this time P1 weighed 12lbs 7oz. and P2 weighed 13lbs 3oz before feed (both plants weighed 11lbs 2oz before last feed). Each plant got 1.33 gallons of purified water with 9:1 ratio of Veg/Bloom Mix concentrates - 356ppm Veg Mix (recipe on week 2) and 44ppm Bloom Mix (recipe on week 5) with 1.5ml of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) . The ph on this feed was balanced to 6.3ph. After feed this time, P1 weighed 20lbs 5oz and P2 also weighed 20lbs 5oz (both weighed 19lbs 2oz after last feed). I got about 6 cups of runoff on P1 and 8 cups on P2 this time (both plants gave up 8 cups of runoff last feed). Runoff for P1 ph was 6.4 with 758ppm (6.3 with 906ppm last feed) and P2 was 6.45 with 729ppm (6.4 with 814ppm last feed). Top soil tested at: P1 6.34,6.31,6.35,6.33 for an avg of 6.33 (6.24 avg after last feed) and P2 tested at 6.34,6.32,6.35,6.30 avg 6.33 (6.37avg after last feed) - next feed will be 1.5 gallons of de-chlorinated water and 6.3ph as Im liking where the ph is now and I dont see any issues from feed or training. Day 55 (last feed was day 49) Tested and Calibrated my ph pens. Starting weight from each pot was 18 lbs and 8 oz, this time P1 weighed 12lbs 10oz. (12lbs 7oz before last feed) and P2 weighed 11lbs 8oz before feed (13lbs oz before last feed). Each plant got 1.5 gallons of de-chlorinated water with 9:1 ratio of Veg/Bloom Mix concentrates - 355ppm Veg Mix (recipe on week 2) and 64ppm Bloom Mix (recipe on week 5) with 1.5ml of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) . The ph on this feed was balanced to 6.25ph. After feed this time, P1 weighed 20lbs 9oz and P2 also weighed 20lbs 9oz (both weighed 20lbs 5oz after last feed). I got ~8 cups of runoff on P1 and 8 cups on P2 this time (6 cups of runoff on P1 and 8 cups on P2 after last feed). Runoff for P1 ph was 6.36 with 1110ppm (6.4 with 758ppm last feed) and P2 was 6.35 with 1170ppm (6.45 with 729ppm last feed). Top soil tested at: P1 6.22,6.17,6.21,6.26 for an avg of 6.215 (6.33 avg after last feed) and P2 tested at 6.19,6.17,6.16,6.12 avg 6.16 (6.33avg after last feed) - next feed will be 1.5 gallons of de-chlorinated water and 6.5ph as I rather see top soil higher after a feed and almost match the runoff - I dont see any issues from feed or training.

Just flushing the girls this week, waiting for most trichomes to go cloudy instead of clear. Ive now switched the lights off for 36/48 hours and will harvest in the next couple of days :))

Hey everyone :-) This week it smells more and more sweet and fruity in the whole room 😍. There is actually not much to report, everyone is now under 12/12 :-). Bud sites are starting to look real nice now, I'm thinking the main stretching has already happened but I'm still expecting her to get a bit taller.

5/5/2024 Pistils pistils pistils 5/8 these plants are fucking exploding! Super exciting to see them like this. Pistils everywhere and they’re just STACKING! don’t even see budlets yet, just pistils. The structure of these plants is beautiful. They handle training fairly well. I topped one and super cropped it and did a bit of lst. I was feeling impatient so I decided to see what happened if I pushed the one a little harder and left the other to grow naturally.

June 7 - We ordered some new lights last week, they are 240w kingbrite samsung lm310h with uv/ir, 3000k, and meanwell drivers. We setup the new room and moved the girls into there. After a bit of LST and a watering (with nutrients) at roughly 7ph, they were ready to go under the 2 new lights and the same SF-1000 we have been using in this grow. The new room is a 12 ft enclosed trailer. I moved everything from the small tent into this. I put clear poly on the walls, floor and ceiling. I put poly on the shelf I am going to be keeping in there as well. I bought 50ft of 6mm mylar and lined the floors, roof and sides with it. I plan to get some reflective tape to seal everything and to cover the wood. I did not get much of a chance to watch temp's today as they it was later in the evening after all was said and done. The inline fan blowing in air from outside. June 8 - 9 AM i checked the plants, they were at 25.2 and 50% RH. Late through the day I had checked and we had gotten up to around 32 degrees. So I moved the inline fan to the closer vent, hooked up to that, and had the air blowing out of the trailer with the inline fan sucking it from above the lights. I then added oscillating fan and had it blowing air on the left side of the room so it would somewhat circulate once I closed the doors. I then checked at about 9pm and we were at 22 degrees. Definitely noticed a decent amount of growth already. I have the lights on a 22/2 cycle as I was worried about the heat at night time. June 9 - Some great growth from the girls, still having problems controlling the temps in the afternoon. I decided to prop the door open a bit to have a constant breeze throughout the day while I am at work. Decided to do some more LST and also a bit of defoliation. I took about 25% of the leaf's that were blocking the new growth as it was getting a bit bunched up. I was then told the leaf's are almost solar panels for them. So from now on I will be trying to just do some tucking unless needed. The leaf's I removed were most of the damaged leaf's, I am not to sure if that makes much of a difference. I gave them a watering with only water as there is a potential I am getting a bit of a nutrient buildup along with the PH problem. Or potentially the reason for the ph problem is nutrient buildup. After watering with A PH of 7 I got some run off and tested it. The smaller plant gave me a PH of about 5.5 where the bigger one is around 5.0. June 10 - Plants are looking happy and showing tons of growth. Seems to be trying to stretch outwards. Not a ton of sign of PH issues showing so potentially getting it under control. Still a bit of damage to previous leaf's but it is what it is! The last few days I have been leaving the door open a bit in order to keep the temps down. I decided to test something and turn the lights off (automatically) at 11AM and back on at 5PM so light schedule has now changed to 18/6 and it seems I may have figured out the issue. We haven't had lots of sun the last couple days so it hasn't been to hard and I have yet to know if it truly fixed the heat issue for now. (I will be looking into a ac unit as well since it typically gets to around 30-35 around here. June 11 - Pulled some of the branches back down and added a few more LST spots. Seems we have a good amount of growth from the smaller plant out of the 2 topped spots. Unfortunately it looks like I fucked up on the bigger plant and only one of the nodes seems to have new growth. I will continue to monitor that but I think I cut the node to low and also to soon. Other then that, the girls are doing great. They seem to be absolutely loving these new lights. I gave them some nutrient water today as well. roughly 3L each. They seem to be A hell of A lot more thirsty under these new lights. June 12 - The girls are doing great , they are still just doing growing away. Lots of progress everyday. I am going to be getting a go-pro so I can set-up a time-lapse for the rest of this grow. I received my new inline fan, I got A ac infinity CLOUDLINE T4 with the temperature humidity controller. I am going to be having one fan pushing fresh air in and one fan pulling out the hot air. I will be doing that tomorrow since I have to work today. June 13 - I ordered another 50ft of mylar and that showed up today. I have decided to remove the shelf and add another 3+ feet to the grow space. So today I installed more poly, mylar, the ac infinity fan. I have it set-up to pump in air if it gets to warm. I am thinking of switching it to the output that way if it gets to hot or to humid I can have that air pulled out of the trailer. Right now my other inline fan is the outtake and I just have it set on full. Overall I think everything is set-up a bit better and more accessible. I will be putting my 2x2 tent in there at the left of the doors so I can have a veg room when these 2 are in flower. I plan to have 4 in veg and 4 in flower for the next grow. Still waiting on JOTI seeds, ordered 3 weeks ago and still have not been shipped. I will be getting those going the moment they arrive. The girls seem to be happy still, did a bit more LST to try to keep everything even, mainly I'm just pulling down on the spots I already have tie wire on.

Hot and some rainy days which has been great for the growth of the girls. They are flourishing everyday. Responding well to the Grow and CalMag nutrients too. You can tell that the one I had topped is slightly wider than the untouched one. Might experiment a bit more with the topped one to get more of a lollipop look. Still have issues with the Japanese Beatles but I've noticed them getting attracted to the flowers in the garden so hopefully they stick to those instead of gnawing on the leaves of the girls.

So we got some very bushy plants. I topped them three times and trained them sideways and the plant focused it's energy on growing out sideways.

Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. 10/5: Comparing photos from the beginning of last week and today, it was pretty decent growth. If they were stunted from being in the temporary grow bags for too long, it wasn't too badly. --Blackberry I (I call her Halle), is really purpling up well, and looking like she'll be a single uber-phat cola...no branching at all..whereas her sister is all about the branches. --Wedding Cheesecakes are consistently big and vigorous. They'll probably be the best producers of the crop. --Orange Sherbets look like clones they are so consistent in shape and leaf structures. Kinda short compared to the other varieties, but nice and bushy. --Gorilla Cookies are also identical in plant shape, but two of them are a few days ahead of the other as far as pistil production goes. Also not a very tall cultivar, but many branches. --The late/stunted Lemon Pie is praying to the sun at all times and starting to look like she belongs in the same crop. The bigger LP is gorgeous..perfect structure, the other one is catching up, but my cat keeps defoliating her.😏 ---Strawberry Pies have massive sun-blocking fan leaves that require constant tucking, but they are branching well, and a couple of them are pretty beefy. The other SP is doing fine considering her crooked trunk and slow start. 10/6: Today I noticed 9 "lone" nanners on the nodes of the crooked trunk-Strawberry Pie!😧 No clusters.. just single pollen sacs here and there.🤨 These plants have experienced no major stress at all...I'm keeping it like late-August upper-peninsula Michigan in the closet. 80f/50%RH 👌 Damnit...this is a new, stable strain, right??👈 I've seen no other SP diaries with hermaphrodites...just my fukt luck I guess.😖 I plucked them and will watch for more..and I guess I'd better keep a close eye on the other two SPs as well... I just got my wife a new 16 x 7 x 7 greenhouse frame with the green semi-translucent cover for her 4' x 12' raised bed...if i see any more sneaky nanners appear, I'll probably remove the plant(s) and move them outdoors to finish in there. I swore I'd not do any training this run, but while removing the pollen sacs I couldn't resist opening up and tieing down some branches on the hermie.🤷 10/9: I fed them.
