I have to do LST and defoliation very often - the plant breathes much better then 🍃🍃 I use the new pH and EC meter Aqua Master Tools P110 PRO, the measurement is fast and accurate 👌 So far I have managed to keep the pH and EC as they should be. Although my EC has jumped a little more now, I diluted the watering so that the EC drops. I use Biobizz Bio +/- to correct it. The excellent mycorrhizal powder PRO-MIX Connect to support the roots certainly works very well. All the girls are very strong and stable from an early age 💚🌿🌲 Training: As I mentioned above, this week I had to do LST and defoliation 2 times. The branches are delicate, but there are really a lot of them. I made the first defoliation bigger, the second one more gentle 🍃

Giving Alien Vs Triangle a second try after my first started showing signs of herming (bananas). Planted the seed directly in soil and she sprouted in 5 days. I'm not going to do HST bending as I did with the first one. I know I accidentally went overboard with HST the first time and that most likely caused her to herm out. I want to get her to harvest as quickly as possible so just going to do some light defoliation and a FIM pinch on this girl. The first AVT smelled insanely good when I chopped her, I'm looking forward to bringing this one to a proper harvest. 👍 My Perpetual Harvest strategy…. Originally my plan was to start 2 seeds each month, but had some seeds from one breeder that did not germinate early in my rotation. Ultimately, this caused single seeds to pop and messed up my 2 at a time plans. But, that seemed to work out OK, because now I think starting one seed every 3 weeks is a better strategy. This should provide me with 4-5 plants at a time, instead of 6. However… Since I need to shut down over the summer because my tent is currently in the attic, I’m starting 2-3 seeds at at time for the last couple of rounds. Plants get fed once weekly on weekends. Seedlings get water only. Plants in vegetation get water and Recharge. Flowering plants get water, Recharge or Big Bloom (Fox Farm). Feeding is done using 2 gallon watering can. Any additional waterings during the week are given on an as needed basis per plant. I lift the plants to help determine which plants are more dry (lighter) and provide water any plants via water bottles and watering spikes. I give each pot a quarter turn every day in an effort to make sure the plants get equal lighting from all sides. I rotate the plant in place by turning the pot 90 degrees (I am not rearranging the layout of the plants in the tent on a daily basis). The soil is an ‘organic super soil’ I mixed myself using organic top soil, organic potting soil, organic compost, organic peat moss, organic perlite, organic vermiculite, lime, epsom salt, expanded clay pellets and Jobe’s organic fast start. I am also recycling my soil and water with Recharge when using recycled soil. For plant training I have tried a variety of things, but my plans now are to do LST bending only, no HST anymore. I may decide to go back to HST again in the future, but I’m curious to compare LST training only to see how that goes. Around week 3 I'll do a FIM pinch once there are 4-5 nodes established. And some defoliation around the 3rd week of flowering. I have been doing HST bending and having good results, but think the HST may be causing the plants to take longer to harvest. I hope FIM/defoliation only will help increase harvests while getting me to harvest sooner. As of the afternoon of May 15th, I have begun some LST with binder clips/safety pins and some soft pipe cleaners. With the exception of the Critical Jack, I think most of the plants are showing some signs of excess Calcium and Nitrogen so I am going to take CALiMAGic out of their feeding regimen and cut the nutrients down to 1/4 strength as of this afternoon. The Dinafem Critical Jack Auto is now the tallest plant and seems to be the healthiest one of the bunch at this point, she keeps amazing me every day. The Seedsman White Widow Auto is not very tolerant to feedings and its stems & branches seem to be weaker than the others; very bushy. Both the Dinafem Industrial Plant Autoflowering CBD and the Mephisto Ripley's OG are very healthy but are growing very squat and bushy -- which made trying some LST for the first time a bit more challenging! As of the evening of May 17th, I noticed pre-flowers on both the Critical Jack and the Ripley's OG. The Critical Jack is certainly stretching out right now! The White Widow and the Industrial Plant CBD look like they should be getting pre-flowers by the end of the week. The Critical Jack has taken to being under the ViparSpectra 600 light more than the MarsHydro Mars II 1200 light -- something to keep an eye on?

Calcium deficiency is rearing its head, it's only minor so shouldn't really be a problem.

7/19 I’ve come upon the realize that I had been under watering to an extreme degree. I have since adjusted accordingly today and hope they look better tomorrow. Did remove some leaves and then found out I really shouldn’t have, hopefully I didn’t stunt them.i believe they are now flowering and next watering I will be adding some tiger bloom at very low strength. the newts I’ve given them have shown tip nute burn often and I have been very minimally watering so my conclusion is my soil was so full of nutes I could have waited until now most likely to start my first feedings. I’ve read about this and w ocean forest this seems to be the trend. Still really happy about the progress. Peace

After another weekend spent away from home, on day 26 both Opiums present at 30 cm height, having grown big and bushy. Their thirst increased, I will water them when their next day starts. And do some more LST. Not too long until I can install the scrogging net. I am really impressed by their progress. They developed a lot of branching side branches and look really healthy and bushy. In contrast to what I wrote before, I think I can stay a few days longer with the current 80% 18/6 lighting scheme. Leaf positions do not show signs of light hunger, so no reason to change. Watered them with 1.5 l each on their 27th morning, this time adding some flower fertilisers too. Compensated their relief with some more LST. I can see in timelapse video they are tmelselves compensating this stress easily; it’s amazing to see how fast they turn their heads. You’ll see soon too. For reference: Pot diameter is approx. 25 cm. So lady #1 spreads about this much, lady #2 is even about 10 cm more. Guess they’ll make a very dense scrog surface, but first let’s have them have their stretch. Day 28 evening revealed ladies are getting thirstier. The holey pots might be helpful in root development, but they are not when it comes to keeping the tent clean. Because of their structure, water runs out in respectable quantities each time they are fed, which takes a long time to evaporate and adds to air humidity of course. Which on the other hand is currently quite ok. Outside air temperatures are around 30 °C the last days, so a bit more humidity helps to keep the VPD in range. Which is quite ok as I still cannot complain about their growth – around 2–3 cm each day currently. Grow video for day 28 (sorry about the interferences! Due to the control hard- & software being offline I cannot silence the blower(s) when a photo is taken anymore) shows steady growth and very vivid movements again. Dropping of their leaves around their evening is possibly due to me watering them again as soil was surprisingly dry already. On their day 29 evening, it’s clear to see how much they are stretching: They really gained 5 cm since yesterday! Lights are close to 30 cm, so I think I’ll reposition things a bit when their next week starts. Attached video shows the day’s progress. They say you cannot scrog an Automatic but seeing the development speed and bushiness I decided to give it a try nonetheless. I guess the buds can profit from being a bit more apart from each other if I handle to fiddle them through the holes in time. I rearranged the lights to be at about 45 cm apart from the tops and set the lights to 100% at a 16/8 lighting scheme, waking them up one hour later than before and sending them to sleep one hour earlier. Last day of this week, day 30, shows that growth speed has even increased. Lady 1 crosses the scrog net already which is positioned at 46 cm above soil. Gave them slightly enhanced water again, 2 l each.
