Howdy, So it’s day 40 today, left and right have been topped for the last time a few days ago, I think the middle bush has another 3/4 days before she’s ready for her last topping. So far I have done 3 complete res changes averaging about 12 days between each change. There has been some signs of deficiency on the largest of the group. I think it could be down to two things, she is the closest to the water filling cap where I add PH down and nutrients to, so her roots are getting hit with it before it mixes in the rest of the res. Second it could just be that the water was depleted of certain nutrients as I stretched it for 2 weeks and as she’s the biggest, she felt it the most... Main thing is there is no signs of it getting worse. I’m having to add about 6-10 litres of water per day. Some HST again on day 39 with some cling film over the bends just in case of any splits. I think I’m going to veg for another 5-10 days, they’re about 1ft 2 inches tall at the moment... I installed the second light on day 39, so everything is ready for flip day. Both are 4200k bulbs and will remain so until week 3/4 after flip day. I will then change them out for 3200k bulbs when the stretch is complete. A 30w UVB bulb will be added to the grow in the final 2 weeks of flower.

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. The Purple Goat Cheese is growing pretty good comming into week 4 of veg she's been topped an a couple leafs plucked off to open up some lower branches to the light over all she's been growing good no problems yet she's been loving this medic grow fold 6 led Ending week 4 the Purple Goat Cheese has started to get some growth with her she's starting to come back good after being topped took a couple extra days but she's starting to pick up on some growth

Well I thought she was close to harvest but she decided to have another growth spurt. I’m glad I didn’t chop her! There was lots more bud growth this week but that’s stopped now and I haven’t seen white pistils for a couple of days so I think she’s close. The pistils are turning amber slowly, there’s still only a few here and there so we’ll wait and see. Happy growing.

summer summer summertime. yes, summer has finally arrived in germany. the fat whale is happy and goes into full bloom. it's already starting to smell. my LST training only serves to get the side shoots into the sun, which they gratefully accept. she has really stepped on the gas in the last week. she is healthy and strong.

Hi guys! I have grown strains from Zamnesia quite a lot time, but this one was the highest yielder from them. literally I have no words for this yield. The tent was 1 square meter and she was alone. Did not smoke a lot from them becouse I want to give a long cure, but what I have tried was amazing. I did the harvest in 2 parts. During the grow I had Mold attack becouse of the size of the buds and the humidity of the grow room. And the loss was almost 50g :(( First: 370g Second: 100g

Hey guys, Into week 8 and the ladies have bushed out considerably even after last week's defoliation! I will have to plan to defoiliate again this upcoming week! The plants are doing well, I have not watered these plants since Monday of this week and we had 2 large t-storms roll through the past 2 days. I will be holding off watering since they got allot of rain water. This comming week I will be planning to possibly top but mainly to start our 2nd round of amendments. Sticking to same formula of 2tsb per gal of 70/30 ratio 444 to 284. I also found the holy grail of prevent maint for fungus gnats. This stuff I found at my ls call aquabac mosquito larvacide. Works great on gnat larvae. All you need is to use 1-2 tbs in a tea bag and let it soak in water for 24-48hr before watering. Hopfully it will prevent any fg infestation. Have a good one guys and see you on the next update.

Flower Week 6 Day 42 to 48 - 4/29 to 5/5 They both look very healthy this week. The calyx are swelling with maturing hairs, the pistols are orange, the trichomes are mostly white, and the leaves are fading/changing colors - still not ripe enough for me, but flushing with half nute feeds now. Feed this week was another auto pot reservoir flush feed at 400ppm total before add-ins. I used 400ppm of Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). And then, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0). PH balance this week was for 5.8 where I plan to maintain it until harvest. Next week will continue the same half nute feed. I will continue to monitor the signs of trichomes, pistols, and calyx for a better harvest and allow the buds to mature more.

The girls started flowering and shooting 🌠 to the sky. The internodes are quite far from each other. The one with the earlier side branches just ended up having two small leaches.

Have been away from my babies for a few days. Couldn’t wait to be back. Purple punch and gorilla punch completed 1 week flush. The smell of them are really strong. Mimosa cake is a bit behind but still promising. It is drinking 5l water each watering.

I went in a little hard with the nutes this week as I accidentally measured wrong, flushed to 400 ppm and 6.1ph and now using 0.5mL per litre of micro and grow along with 1ml per litre of calmag

Lots of growth this week! 😃 So far, the indoor girls are looking fuller to me. They seem shorter with tighter nodes and more nodes than the outdoor girls. Also one of the outdoor girls seems to be a little bit of a runt. I'm hoping she catches up eventually, but I'm noticing the runty looking girl is also not symmetrical for some reason. I think this is a good comparison. I'm glad I'm growing 2 outdoors and 2 indoors so we can see a more fair comparison. If I only had one of each it might be a genetic thing causing the differences. Btw... the indoor plants are under 315w CMH on a 19/5 light cycle, 24" from the canopy. The outdoors are obviously dependent on the sunlight which is between 15-16 hours here now. I don't care that the outdoor girls have stretched more than the indoor - they don't have a ceiling to deal with, nor will they grow too close to the light (unless I'm really lucky 😉 ). I am very happy that so far I do not see any damage due to bugs on any of the plants. I'm still feeding at 75% of the Fox Farm schedule. That seems to be the right level to me. I'm almost out of Big Bloom, just ordered another gallon. What do you guys think? Please comment! Thanks!!!

Have her a big defoliating to allow light to the bud sites and to reduce humidity in the tent , she took it well and is growing really fast still. The smell is very old school skunk type smell at this point

SUNDAY 5/19: I accidentally left my UV timer in the "ON" position all night and half of the next day...fearing sudden death, I have moved everybody that was almost ready into the dark tent, including the two Tangies and will start harvesting them tomorrow..maximum UVB stress for about 20 hours...if it works out that they are even more potent than expected without turning brown overnight, I'll claim it was "intentional," and purport it as an "advanced technique" 😉 MONDAY: The both looked fine..no signs of UV damage, so I left them in the dark tent for another day. I'll harvest them both tomorrow and probably wet trim Tina and hang-dry Tanya..she's gonna be a lot of work and I have 5 other plants to harvest as well tomorrow...and I've got to flush several others and water the rest. Both of these plants absolutely WREAK without even molesting them..delightfully dank!😋👍
