Flowering and the stretch phase have officially begun, and the canopy remains very even thanks to the earlier training. The first buds are forming nicely, and the plant looks vigorous overall. There is still some minor pest damage on a few fan leaves, but it remains healthy and is developing exactly as expected.

Everything is going smooth. Starting to see some stretching. I have removed a few leaves on the top to help get light deeper into the plants. I am going to start them on some maxibloom when they start popping pistils.

Just feeding auger and water and getting it right she love the low feed so yeah I like what she doing no the best looking but a she a keeper if you want a piney sweet smell it grows lanky as hell and the structure of the plant though but doesn’t have that appealing look while grow but hopefully the smoke is good cause that what we trying to get

Happy 4th everyone 🎆. I just returned from a 4 day family trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I love that place and we had a lot of fun. The girls are doing great. I filled the reservoir before I left and it's was 1/4 remaining when I returned. That's one big advantage using the auto pots. If i was manual watering, i would be able to miss watering them more than a day. The posted pictures are 7 days from the last week photos. I also took a couple videos. With this being the beginning of week 5, I increased my bloom to 12ml per gallon. It's usually 9ml. I also increased my koolbloom from 3ml to 5ml per gallon. I'll go back to 9 and 3 on week 6. Day 40: They got recoverd from overwatering. Leafs got darker because I gave them more nutrients, but gained early signs of slightly overfeeding ( Burnt tips on leafs). I had to boost them to fix it because there isn't much time with autoflowers. Now i only have to adjust my nutrient feeding with just 10 to 15% and its all good. They did stretch again, some growers love it but i think it is ugly and you will gain weak stems. Also the fans will not reach the plants properly, which is not good. This time it is my fault, i didnt want to let my friend take care of them while i was busy. What happend is that i could had raise my lamps again. When your lamps are to close to the plants( its not a big deal with LED but it is with HPS) your plants will get alot of heat and they will stretch. So the secret of smaller plants is to keep your lamps high, but not to high otherwise they don't grow proper. But never do this alot when they are in late flowering, because your buds will foxtail, unless you love to have foxtailed buds. I have to do something about the heat soon, because i want my buds compact and not fluffy. This will happen due lots of heat. Also due alot of stretching and other problems, I gained a messy cantopy resulting in many problems. For noobies the room looks awesome but pro's will see that because of this, the stems and branches are weak and everything beneeth it has no use anymore because it gets no light. The spaces between internodes are to far away, so there will not be huge buds. I also have to start give them cal/mag, i saw first stages of deficiency. Not a problem when you are early with spotting it. I didn't forsee that i had to work like 60hours a week suddenly while having autoflowers on cocos in 3 liter pots and you only can water them once per 2 days and can take care of them once per 3-4 days. That is not really ideal 😅 Positive thing is that the buds are starting to develope 😍 Thats all for now Day 42: I have been defoliating alot to get the air between the plants. There are still some leafs and branches i want to get rid off, but i don't want them to stress out to much. Also i have killed of 23 smaller plants to make more space for the others. This is always painfull but stupid if you don't do this. If the plants didn't stretch that far due heat and low placed lights, this would not have been the case. I would still have alot of small nice plants. See you guys next week!

The plants grew well this week, as did all the clones. Any extra rooted clones have been planted outdoors as a further experiment. We moved all the clones into a Veg room. Even though the large room is not in flower and still also in veg, we had to separate the plants due to lack of space. Also setting up for mother, clones and SOG in the future. The plants were defoliated and training continued. There are 2 weeks of Veg left hoping to have some very large plants for flowering. Aiming for large flowers.

The voodoo juice x platinum hermed this week so moved it to it's own tent. We have 6 plants remaining in the room. I cut out the maxigro this week. They are getting .5 tsp per gallon of maxibloom now. Seems to be keeping everyone happy. Not much to report other than that. Buds seem to be progressing pretty nice.

Welcome to Week 1 of the Sweet Seeds Gorilla Girl XL Autoflowering grow courtesy of the fine folks at Sweet Seeds! This is the second of three consecutive grows/diaries that I am doing to showcase the tried and tested genetics from this reputable seed breeder. My last grow was a smashing success so I have high hopes for this grow as well. Nothing much to report for Week #1 although I will mention that the first watering was only 0.7 of a litre per plant (0.18 of a litre per plant per day) and the second was 1.4 litres per plant (0.35 of a litre per plant per day). I am watering on my usual schedule of every fourth day as this seems to be the sweet spot throughout past grows. I am using the usual- air bubbled tap water that is PH’d to around 6.0 and if need be (over the winter months in Canada) warmed to 68-70 degrees prior to hand watering with a small watering can. The seedling that lost one of it’s cotyledon leaves is fine but still a little smaller than her sisters. So now on to Mom’s tip of the week… Mom’s Tip for Week #1 is- YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR- QUALITY IS KEY!… When considering growing Cannabis, even on a small scale, quality is an important factor in all aspects from the seeds to set up to the supplies used throughout the grow. Starting with seeds from a established breeder will raise the odds considerably in your favour for a successful outcome. Many seed companies are more than willing to ship out freebies while building up their brands which seems attractive to new growers- but use at your own risk! There’s nothing worse than being halfway through a grow and discovering male flowers tucked in amongst the lowest branches or realizing that your beautiful buds have been mysteriously pollinated just weeks before harvest. I know that seeds from a reputable seed breeder are usually more expensive and can be hard to access in certain parts of the world. But purchasing quality seeds from a reputable seed company is the first step towards homegrown Cannabis success. An area that new growers often overlook due to the high price is the quality of crucial components in their set up- including tent, lights, and intake/exhaust fans. Anyone can get away with cheaper pots, oscillating corner fans, water pumps for dechlorination, etc but it’s worth every penny investing into the workhorses of your entire operation. An initial investment of around two thousand dollars will provide serious growers with the longevity and hassle free basics needed. If done right, quality components will pay for themselves within the first 6-12 months of use and continue to serve your needs for 3-5 years to come. Supplies used throughout the grow are the final area where quality is important but somewhat subjective too. Although I’ve already stated that I don’t feel the need to spend big dollars on all the extras (pots, oscillating fans, water pumps for dechlorination, PH/moisture meters, etc- I do believe in doing my homework to make sure that I’m getting the best bang for my buck. I thoroughly research every item purchased and used in my grows by reading customer reviews, speaking with other growers and sometimes even trial and error at my own expense. Making quality an important factor in all aspects of Cannabis cultivation will benefit you, your grows and the planet we live on. 🌳🌎🌳
