Week 10 Flower — The Beauty Before the Finish This week marks a very special chapter in the Eternity Grow Cup. As we approach harvest, the garden is simply glowing with beauty. Every corner, every canopy, every branch tells a story — and this week, I’ve taken the time to slow down and capture that story as best I can through the lens of my camera. I use my Sony camera in full manual focus mode, and I don’t just snap and go — I spend time with each plant, each angle, waiting for that perfect moment when everything aligns. These are not just photos to document — they’re my attempt to reflect the feeling of the room, the energy of the grow, and the soul of each plant. Just like with the videos, I don’t shoot randomly and decide later. I record what matters, and what I record, I use. It keeps me focused, organized, and deeply connected to the process — and I believe it helps me tell the story more clearly, whether through stills or moving pictures. This is part of a gentle, prolonged flush phase I like to implement, giving the plants a chance to metabolize and fade naturally. The goal is to promote clean, vibrant flowers that finish with optimal expression, without rushing the process. No forced flush, just time and care. Lighting-wise, the spectrum has been tuned with precision — we’re currently running 40% on the whites, with reds and UVs at 100% to drive trichome development, resin production, and color expression in these final days. The plants are loving it — they’re soaking in the deeper wavelengths that signal the end of their life cycle and responding with a final push of energy. And yes — we’ve been running 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness from the very start of flower. It’s not the usual 12/12, and it comes with its pros and cons. On the upside, it helps speed up ripening slightly, encourages more compact flower formation, and mimics the natural seasonal decline in daylight. On the flip side, it slightly reduces the overall DLI (daily light integral), so you need to ensure your PPFD and spectrum are dialed in just right to avoid sacrificing yield. I am a day early but I am in the flower room and figured I would go ahead and update. The girls are still pushing along. Sweet smell, very sweet with a bit of berry at this stage. Branches have been leaning for awhile now, but I came into a room with a couple bent over but luckily not broken. Who am I kidding... I would have done a quick dry and enjoyed an early taste. Week 7 is done at lights out and I will be 1 week from the early side of Barney's flowering window. I will be checking trichomes regularly from here on out looking for the signal that these girls are done. I am uploading a quick video. I hope it turns out as good as it looks on my phone.. You know that you want to click that like button.. 😇 Edit: Been dropping night time temps and the dark colors are coming out. More so in the lowers but the tops are coming along.

Update 11/8...2nd plant is harvested and jarred. The terps on this strain are amazing! I harvested only 1 plant....her sister (the tall purple girl) is still under the lights. Based on dry weight on 4 upper colas harvested 5 days earlier I'm expecting a whopping 160 grams from just the one plant. The colas are super frosty and dense, holding their weight during drying. I've got 40 grams already curing, the rest is still hanging in the dry box. This strain was an absolute pleasure to grow and even an uncured bud smokes smooth and sweet with a nice, even slow burn and white to light grey ash. It's gonna be my go-to from my winter stash line-up!! Thank you Royal Queen Seeds for the opportunity to select and grow one of your strains and for Organic nute setup. It's obvious I snagged an excellent strain grown with topnotch nutrition. I've got 3 more Green Gelato beans and can't wait to pop em next grow.

Onto flower nutrients last Friday - change reservoir fridays - this is A MONSTER.. This is insane - currently adding 14ml A+B a day to one on left Absolute beast mode engaged Friday - I thought about this alllast night , do I risk it ? So as you know me by now , I did , I’ve moved them into the 35 litre DWC I made , they are just drinking too fast out of the 19 litre, I have a 17 litre reservoir now , and on the ball ache scale ( my own invention ) it was as 4 where 5 is no ball ache and 1 is having to put up a new tent ⛺️ .. I was so careful with the beautiful white roots , fingers crossed 🤞 it will either work amazing or Fuck the whole thing up 😜

We’re closing in on what I’d call the subjectively ideal harvest window. Amber trichomes are now appearing on the sugar leaves, which (by rule of thumb 😄) means the rest are likely cloudy. The aroma is exactly as expected — like smashing your face into a bowl of cookie dough. That’s modern cultivars for you! 🍪🌱 I’ll be chopping the plants in the next few days and will be back soon with the full harvest report. --- Grow Conditions (still consistent): 💧 Watering: 1500ml every third day 🌱 Nutrients: None (flushing, previously BioBizz schedule) 💡 Light Intensity: ~1000 PPFD 🌡️ VPD: ~1.82 kPa 🌞 Temperature: ~28°C 💦 Relative Humidity: ~50%

Let's go to the finale. The eighth and final week of flowering. The flowers are hard as a rock. The trichomes are milky and sometimes an amber hue appears.

Aug 8: Purple Ghost Candy is looking really good. She is continuing to stretch and lots of buds are forming. Had the AC Infinity UV lights out for first time today. The strength of natural UV light drops quickly this far north in mid-August. We run out of strong light before it gets too cold here. Aug 9: added third scrog net and clipped it to the twine. Kludge method but it works so well I don’t know how I’d upgrade it further. Works great and provides strength and flex to the plant. Unsung heroes include malt vinegar for pH adjustment and Dr Bronners as a wetting agent. The surfactant lowers the surface tension of the water allowing it to penetrate the soil more easily. The smell also helps keeps bug away, it is claimed. Anyway, it works. Peppermint is the usual one for growers but the store was out last time and I’m currently using Lavender. Aug 11: don’t take flash pics of your photoperiod plants unless you follow up with a red light. I’ve done it this way for years now with no hermies so the red light must help avoid problems somehow. And it is definitely a bloom booster and allows ripening under stronger sunlight. The 730 nm far red light is recommended for several different reasons.
