🌸 Blütetag 59 / 📅 Gesamttag 119 🌡️ Klima Draußen merkt man inzwischen deutlich, dass Frühling ist. Im Zelt läuft das Klima weiterhin ruhig und stabil und die VPD-Werte bewegen sich konstant im grünen Bereich. Insgesamt also sehr ähnliche Bedingungen wie in der letzten Woche. 🌱 Pflanzenstatus Die Ziellinie kommt langsam in Sicht, auch wenn noch ein kleines Stück Strecke vor uns liegt. Die beiden Pflanzen zeigen inzwischen deutlich unterschiedliche Reifestadien. Die Triangle Sherbet Kush wirkt schon ziemlich weit: kaum noch neue weiße Härchen, stark angeschwollene Buds und insgesamt deutlich mehr Harzproduktion. Die White Gushers 33 arbeitet dagegen weiter an neuen Blüten. Besonders an den Tops sind noch frische Pistillen zu sehen und die Buds legen weiter an Masse zu. Interessant ist auch die Entwicklung innerhalb der Pflanze: Die drei höchsten und kräftigsten Triebe foxtailen leicht, während einige der tieferen Seitentriebe bereits weiter wirken und teilweise deutlich weniger weiße Härchen zeigen. 🌼 Blütenentwicklung / Reife Bei der Triangle Sherbet Kush zeigen sich inzwischen klare Reifezeichen. Unter dem Mikroskop sind bereits die ersten bernsteinfarbenen Trichome zu erkennen 🔬. Außerdem stehen einige Blätter bereits kanuartig nach oben, und die Pflanze beginnt sichtbar, Nährstoffe und Farbe aus den Blättern in die Blüten zu ziehen. Die White Gushers 33 verfärbt sich ebenfalls zunehmend, wirkt aber insgesamt noch etwas später im Reifeprozess. Hier sind die Trichome überwiegend milchig, teilweise noch nicht ganz trüb. 👃 Aroma Beim Öffnen des Zeltes entwickelt sich inzwischen eine schöne würzig-fruchtige Gesamtmelange. Die Triangle Sherbet Kush bringt zunächst klar die würzige Kush-Komponente mit. Wenn man die Buds leicht berührt, kommt aber deutlich die bananige Note 🍌 aus der Sherbet-Abstammung durch – also ebenfalls fruchtig, aber eher cremig-bananig als süß. Die White Gushers 33 geht aromatisch eher in eine gasigere Richtung ⛽, mit etwas Funk und Frucht darunter. Also keine Candy-Süße, sondern eher ein Mix aus Gas, leichter Frucht und einem kleinen funky Twist. 📊 Fazit Aktuell zeigt sich immer deutlicher, wie unterschiedlich sich die beiden Genetiken in der Endphase entwickeln. Die Triangle Sherbet Kush wirkt klar weiter und reifer, während die White Gushers 33 oben noch weiter Blüten nachschiebt, in den tieferen Bereichen aber teilweise schon erstaunlich weit ist. 🔭 Ausblick Rein vom Eindruck her könnte die Triangle Sherbet Kush bald fallen, während die White Gushers 33 vermutlich noch etwas mehr Zeit gebrauchen kann. Da eine Teilernte hier nicht ganz unkompliziert wäre, bekommen beide vorerst noch etwas Zeit. Mich würde aber interessieren, wie ihr das handhaben würdet: Würdet ihr in so einer Situation schon separat die Kush ernten oder beide Pflanzen noch zusammen stehen lassen? Und wie macht ihr das generell in der letzten Phase vor der Ernte – gebt ihr euren Pflanzen noch eine Trockenphase 🌵 oder Dunkelphase 🌑, oder lasst ihr alles einfach normal weiterlaufen? Auch spannend: Zu welcher Tageszeit erntet ihr am liebsten? ⏰ Bis nächste Woche – bleibt sauber und gesund! 🌿 🌸 Flower Day 59 / 📅 Day 119 Overall 🌡️ Climate Outside you can clearly feel that spring has arrived. Inside the tent the climate remains calm and stable and the VPD values stay consistently in the optimal range. Overall the conditions are very similar to last week. 🌱 Plant Status The finish line is slowly coming into view, even though there is still a little bit of track left. The two plants now clearly show different stages of maturity. The Triangle Sherbet Kush already looks quite far along: almost no new white pistils, heavily swollen buds and overall a lot more resin production. The White Gushers 33 on the other hand is still working on producing new flowers. Especially on the tops fresh pistils are still appearing and the buds continue to gain mass. An interesting observation inside the plant structure: The three tallest and strongest tops are slightly foxtailing, while some of the lower side branches actually seem further along and already show far fewer white pistils. 🌼 Flower Development / Ripeness The Triangle Sherbet Kush already shows clear signs of maturity. Under the microscope the first amber trichomes can already be spotted 🔬. Some leaves are also starting to canoe upwards, and the plant visibly begins to pull nutrients and color from the leaves into the buds. The White Gushers 33 is also starting to fade, but overall it still seems slightly behind in the ripening process. Here the trichomes are mostly milky, with a few still not fully cloudy yet. 👃 Aroma When opening the tent a nice spicy–fruity blend fills the air. The Triangle Sherbet Kush first presents a spicy kush profile, but when the buds are lightly touched a distinct banana note 🍌 from the Sherbet lineage becomes noticeable — fruity as well, but more creamy banana-like than sweet. The White Gushers 33 goes into a different direction aromatically. It leans more toward a gassy profile ⛽, with some funk and fruit underneath. So not candy sweet, but more a mix of gas, light fruit and a slight funky twist. 📊 Summary At this point it becomes increasingly clear how differently the two genetics behave in the final phase. The Triangle Sherbet Kush clearly appears more mature already, while the White Gushers 33 is still pushing new flowers on the tops, even though some lower parts already look surprisingly advanced. 🔭 Outlook From the current impression the Triangle Sherbet Kush might be ready quite soon, while the White Gushers 33 could probably use a bit more time. Since doing a partial harvest here would not be the easiest option, both plants will likely stay a little longer for now. I’d be curious how you guys would handle this situation: Would you already harvest the Kush separately, or leave both plants a bit longer and harvest them together? Also interested to hear how you approach the final phase before harvest. Do you give your plants a dry period 🌵 or a dark period 🌑, or do you simply let everything run normally until harvest? So here we are, at the end, a few months later. I was so happy that I'll finally grow a plant without any training at all, just to see the full and uninterrupted genetic expression. It was a blast to grow her, I can't wait for the plant to dry and give it a few weeks of curing but she smells great already. I also wanted to thank Divine Seeds for the contest strain and Bio Tabs for great Bio fertilizer. You can judge for yourself because I'll let the photographs speak for themselves. Speaking of photography, I went with a moody style this time, because she has a great structure. I've trimmed her a little bit here and there and I've left a few big fan leaves on both sides for better looks. The big fan leaves reflect the light so well, it make the whole plant shine. My plant is growing pretty well. She has developed many new nodes, since I used fertilizer last wednesday. I want to top her next wednesday or so, becuase of my limited tent-height. I also put the light from 14 DLI to 20 DLI. I want to increase the intensity every day a bit more to let her slowly adapt. Edit: I rotated her so that she can absorb light evenly and therefore grow evenly. Update 08.04.24: Some roots have reached the surface, so I decided to cover them with some new soil. I also decided to top her today and bend some of her leafes down. Update 09.04.24: I actually didn't want to start LST until next week. The topping is actually intended to strengthen the growth of the secondary branches, but a few of these branches received little light. That's why I decided to start with LST now and continue to enable the growth of the secondary branches.

Last day of lights exposure. The buds will now go into a 48 hours of darkness. Last watering was done 2 days prior. The plants will use the last bit of energy to produce more resine . Trichomes are 10% amber .

Got the trellis net up directing them where to grow, week 5 and last time I watered I think the ph was a little low. Hard to tell without a good ph pen. I ordered on and it’s on the way so I won’t have to worry about wrong ph. I think it’s been showing in some of the leafs

End of week three and she’s looking excellent! I’m excited to be this so far along with a relatively deficiency free plant finally. I’m hoping these next 4-6 weeks or so are more of the same. I did a final defoliation today. Defoliated quite a bit under the net that would have been light deprived and also too heavy to where the limb would eventually flop over. I’m wondering if I should have defoliated more of the canopy. My thoughts are “more photosynthesis (leaves), more energy directed to really healthy and strong flower production” so I was hesitant to pull more leaves from the canopy. I did angle up the lower oscillating fan so that it would blow into the bottom of the canopy. Hopefully between that and maintaining a good flower VPD I’ll keep mold away. My past three grows it wasn’t an issue since most of the leaves were dying by now lol. The strains signature smell is just starting to develop. I’m noticing a citrusy/lemony smell.

New Irrigation System – Mars Hydro Foldable Bucket Drip Kit This week, we also welcomed a new tool into the grow room: the Mars Hydro Drip Irrigation Kit (link here). 👉 Important note: I’m not running it on automation or timers. I will manually control it, plugging it in and off when watering. This way, I get the benefit of precise, even distribution, while keeping full hands-on control. What it is: • A bucket-based drip system that distributes water (or nutrient solution) evenly to multiple pots through adjustable drip emitters. • A way to reduce manual hand-pouring and ensure more consistent soil hydration. • A tool that can save root systems from “wet/dry pockets” that sometimes happen with hand-watering. What it is NOT: • It’s not fully automated irrigation (unless connected to timers or sensors). • It doesn’t make plant care “hands-free.” You still have to decide when and how much to water. • It won’t replace observation—plants still speak through their leaves and posture. What to Expect: ✅ More even watering across pots. ✅ Reduced runoff mess if dialed correctly. ✅ Less physical strain compared to hand-watering each plant. ✅ The chance to experiment with “precision irrigation” in future grows. What NOT to Expect (yet): ❌ Fully automated feeding schedules. ❌ Perfect calibration out of the box (it takes a few runs to dial flow rate for each pot). ❌ A substitute for plant observation—eyes on the canopy are still the most important tool. Educational takeaway: Drip systems are bridges between hand-watering and full automation. They give growers consistency without completely removing the grower’s role. P.S. #2 – Pheno #1 vs. Pheno #2: Different Timelines Another important note this week: the two Mango Kush sisters are not in the exact same stage of flower. • Pheno #1 – More advanced. She is already in full flower mode, pistils bursting, bud sites defined, white hairs everywhere. This is the classic “week 3 flower look.” • Pheno #2 – Slower. She is not yet fully in flower. Why? Because she was germinated later and is effectively running a slightly younger internal clock—closer to 11–13 from seed. 👉 With the 11/13 light schedule (11 hours on, 13 off), Pheno #2 is taking her time to settle into bloom. This is not a problem, it’s genetics and timing. Each seed is unique, and sometimes phenos stagger into flower. What this means for the grow: • Don’t expect both plants to bulk at the same time. • Pheno #1 may finish earlier. • Pheno #2 could become the “late bloomer,” giving us a longer harvest window and potentially different terpene expression. Educational takeaway: Not all phenotypes follow the same timeline, even under identical conditions. One may stretch earlier, another may flower later. I am now flushing her with plain Brita filtered water PH'd with lime juice to lower her PH. I initially first flushed her with 42L of water and now I am flushing her once a day for 8 days and then I will put her in for darkness for 3 days and then I will harvest her and dry her for 9 days and then cure her for 28-48 days.

This fine lady is really starting to add some nice colours due to some cold temps in our neck of the woods. She has a ton of trichomes development now! I am really impressed with the look of the buds. They aren’t all full of leaves which should make trimming her a pleasure. 😎 She has really been fattening up this week. I am guessing she needs another week or so to finish up. Her colouring should be quite something once she is done. 🤩 I am still having the odd spot of powdery mildew pop up but nothing too serious. I have been treating it with greencure every 3-4 days and it’s keeping it under control. I haven’t found any affecting the buds yet which is a win! This is the reason a good effective regimen of treating plants for pest and mould/mildew is an outdoor growing must!! I have yet to lose a plant to mould or peat so I swear by it. I’ve seen a bunch of my associates with some powdery mildew beast. Such a shame to see😱 Stay tuned for the final week 😎🍿
