I like my grows to be simple, clean and efficient. The Mars 2000 plus RQS top-shelf genetics, combined with the super-simple RQS organic "Easy" line of nutes is making this beautiful grow! 6 strains, 6 healthy, thriving girls. I intentionally set 2 seeds at 3-4 intervals so I can rotate air space and have 2 harvested every 4 weeks. The organic Easy line of nutes is simple to use, clean, organic and delivers lush, healthy growth. No more mixing liquids. I feed sparingly but always give cal/mag with all waterings/feedings. I pH down water ONLY at the beginning (before feeding starts) or in between if pH runs high and I won't be feeding within 2-3 days. Feeding drops pH in coco and as nutes are consumed pH rises back to coco's neutral 7.0. Simple. I rarely water "till runoff". Lighter feedings mean less buildup. Clean. Abundant, tasty, smooth harvests is my goal and this combo delivers! I'm still enjoying last Fall's harvest of Green Gelato 😎

Ending the first week and entering the 2nd week leaving my plants as I'm off to Mary Jane Berlin. I'll be absent for 9 days so I'm facing the challenges how to make sure they'll be okay when I'm back. As you can see I'm saying goodbye from perfect canopy with 9 plants as I've found 3 males that needed to be removed in order to prevent any polination during my absence. I'm eager to see what will happen when I'm back but for now I need to be in Berlin meeting some of you amazing people from the community. Hopefully the remaining 6 are females and they will wait for me in a good state. I'm leaving them in the worst possible moment as they are stretching, showing sex, and weather forecast is extremely hot. This makes my runs unique with all the challenges we are facing each time. Who said growing is stress free? 😂💚

This girl is growing like a sword – tall, slender, and cutting through the canopy with style 😅 She's stretched quite a bit, and down below she’s rocking four tiny side shoots that I’m honestly not sure what to think of yet. But hey, I’m letting her do her thing. Stretch seems to be slowing down now, and I'm starting to spot the very first trichomes glistening under the light, always an exciting moment! Applied 1/3 gal Nutrients by hand on day 1 of week 5. I defoliated leaves and shoots on the second node to build my manifold. I will be keeping the 1st and 3rd nodes on each main creating 8 colas with less topping then traditional Main-Lining. I preformed the 2nd topping on day 2 of week 5( the plants now have 8 shoots each and I will eventually be applying LST to the new 8 shoots).I haven't had any more issues with the Blumats but I am still dialing them in...I'm starting to see the pros of having a digital irrigation system vs my analog, but this is what I have available at the moment plus it's nice not having another wire to plug in 😉 Applied 1/3 gal Nutrients by hand on day 3 of week 5. On day 4 of week 5 I defoliated large fan leaves on well developed shoots on node 1 of mains(will do the same to node 3 of mains when those shoots grow out from the last topping). Applied 1/3 gal Nutrients by hand on day 5 of week 5. It's day 6 week 5 and I'm starting to see some possible issues with over watering and over fertilizing. One of my plants leaves started to claw slightly no burnt tips but I can tell she is slightly unhappy. I will lower the nutrients while making sure when I fertilize I get more runoff. I also dialed back my Blumats so that they water less(I'm starting to see a little green algae forming on the surface of the Coco this tells me it is staying too moist).

Week 5, now we are talking, she is stretching and the roots are growing at a really nice rate. Feeding is almost at the recommended max without her showing signs of overfeeding, I always increase and try to push the plant but you need to go slow, step by step and see how she reacts, always give her 48 hours to see how she copes with the new dose, If she looks healthy stick to dose for the week and increase the following. A good trick to see if you plant wants more of less fertilizer is reading the ppm and check when the res level is lower after 3 days or so, if the ppm rises but the water level doesn't go down quick she has to much feeding. If the PPM stay the same or drop with quick water intake means she takes it in very happy and maybe can take more. Will continue to rise the dose till we reach the recommended max of 2.5ml/l, might play with the ratio later on.

Some of you may have wondered: Why do I use CO2 at average 950 ppfd μmol/m2/s (moral flow)? The answer is quite simple. Because of lack of space in some regions of my cultivation area, I simply cannot keep the ideal distance to my Sanlight high-performance lamp, due to some height growth of various strains. And so some of the main colas have ppfd values of 1250 μmol/m2/s and even more... So this is how I manage to achieve and compensate for such high radiation levels even with a CO 2 balance. And I have to say, my strategy to avoid various light stress symptoms works just fabulously. In combination with CO 2 implementation, my babies are simply unbeatably insensitive to light. Thats it! Beginning of 3rd week flowering: Again feeding my babies by 36 hours fermented potions of Bio Tabs Kompost Tea PK-Booster (15 g pro Liter) and added: 5ml Orgatrex/Liter 1 Spoon of Bactrex 1 Spoon of Mycotrex 1 Spoon of Mycco-Vital 1 Spoon of Dynomyco A little tip for those who are interested in small modifications that have a big difference or influence - on the result - effect - beauty - health - taste! Before adding microorganisms or beneficial bacteria or Mycorrizae and Trichodermas, please use oxygen-saturated water. On the one hand, unwanted chlorine gases evaporate and the small world of the microbiome becomes even faster and more rewarding in compost tea to sprout. Last but not least for this week, I would like to introduce my reasons, why I prefer growing biologically and sustainably. First of all, it’s something which suits very well in these times/days we are living now. Sustainability is a big need and task for our planet. 🌎 Nature means life. Our home, the air we breathe and everything that surrounds us. Not just today. Hopefully tomorrow as well. Maybe I'm starting to protect our environment on a small scale, but maybe I can also make a big difference at all. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change... I thought about what’s the difference, between Mineral Feeding and Super Soil Feeding. It’s very easy. Biologically Growing is a similar process than the natural soil activities out there in the lap of nature’s. So plants has to work and interact with the microorganisms and microbiomic communities in the soil. So the plants will never get lazy like the lazy ones of mineral feeding growers. If you grow biologically, you will feed the soil first and the microorganisms will support every parameter next to your plant conditions. And that will generate an unbelievable spectrum of Terpenes and Trichomes you will never forget. It’s the same comparison, when you daily visit McDonalds and you eat only fast food. Addendum for Day 53: At the moment we unfortunately have another winter onset here in Germany. This means that I am forced to take additional heating measures due to structural facts in order to be able to keep the temperatures constant. After all, just tonight the thermometer climbs again to -1 degree Celsius. In addition, my exhaust air system runs out of my bedroom terrace and I therefore grow winter and summer with the patio door open. Well, sometimes I experience real weather-related challenges. But all in all, no problem... "Where there's a will, there's a way." Addendum to pouring out the fermented PK tea: I always administer half a liter of lukewarm aerated water with 3.5 ml of cannazyme per liter to each plant. This means that the "root machine" is not supplied with supplies unprepared and the nutrient solution can thus also be better distributed in the soil. Since I also work with cloth shoes, I spray them evenly moistened everywhere with water that is also warm before pouring them out from the outside. This has the advantage that the moisture stays where it should: in the pot! ... I did the math today ;-) We are still in week 7 until this Friday. And week 8 starts on Friday! OMG... still so much time yeahh! Today my Fast Buds Sour Jealousy and Sweet Seeds Big Devil and Dark Devil Automatics arrived. I'm looking forward to it. This time Fast Buds next Time Sweet Seeds. Love them too. Very beautiful genetics. Today a review video of the beginning of week 3. At the time of the pictures, I had minor signs of nitrogen excess. (Light peaks first at the crown of the roof and then slightly continuing to the middle section.) I then painstakingly racked my brains as to why this could be. I found that very slight dry spots had formed and therefore the root found small accumulations of nitrogen that caused its problems. But then, when I carefully homogeneously checked the moisture content in the substrate, the problem evaporated again. However, they had not shown any loss of growth rate during this time. Nevertheless, they developed as expected. They Strawnanas had no problem with that. In the end, I always have a hard time killing them. But I guess that's the way things go. We live and die. 135 days 3 part harvest 1st was wk 16 430 wet= 97 dry: flowering 60+ days. 2nd part 105 wet= 20g Dry 3rd part well, I got a weight after 5 days of drying. It turned all the white hairs all amber and it actually finished off perfectly. The wet weight was a lot more than I was guessing. I got nearly 55g dry + 3 grams I've been picking up the last 2 days on bits that dried earlier as I hung it in my grow room. RH was 60% temp 21c. Had to remove nodes on the outside to allow the inner buds to dry. 40% was dry on day 3.5 rest took another 1.5 days to dry. This time I didn't over dry it. Still a nice bit of mostiure in it. I'd say the weight wait on this one was 200+ gave back 58Dry.. Was a task doing a 3 part harvest between partly flushing, restarting and then flushing and restarting and then finally I gave her a 10 day flush on flawless finish. She was dying off, showing she was coming to end of life. Really happy with the results of her, nice to get a decent amount of bud from the jars. Week 1 of the latest cycle and starting out with some new hardware and an expanded grow print👍. We’re running 4 autos via a recirculating Dutch bucket system. First time on a dutchy so it’s gonna be interesting to see how it stacks up against DWC. I’ll give a full rundown on the system I’ve cobbled together on the next update. So far - all seedlings have germ’d without issue using the standard p-towel method. Why more people don’t use this method on GD is beyond me. It’s so reliable that some breeders even warranty your seeds if you use this method and more than 1 seed fails to crack. We’ve got little sprouts coming up now and it’s all just waiting for those first couple fan leaves to come out and those roots to run to the bottom of each bucket. They’ve been placed in root riot cubes (essentially a version of rapid rooters) like most of our runs and I’d recommend their use with all autos. Time and stress on young autos is key so they need the absolute best start you can give them👌. End of week update - looks like we got 4 quality little seedlings here👍. Alls good other than battling a ph issue for most of the week. Keeps spiking overnight for no real reason - hopefully it’ll even out and isn’t the early sign of a major problem🤞. Background The strain line up on this grow is look’n quite saucy 😈. We’ve got 2 FB strains this time around - Gorilla Cookies (seems we always have some GSC cross in the works). Mainly because the colours look stellar and remind me of a sugar breathe we did last year that was 🔥. The other FB is their original Cheese strain... because we already smoked all our cheese... and we really like our cheese...😉. Emerald triangle was kind enough to include a freebie of Lemon Haze. Wasn’t really big on the list but we haven’t done a haze strain to write home about yet so worth a go👍. The last is a Cherry auto from Bomb seeds that we’ve been trying to get to for months. Let’s just hope that she’s not a dud like the last bean. The new digs for this run are courtesy MarsHydro👊. Their 2x4 single grow tent, paired with a shiny new 240w QB courtesy ViparSpectra. These folks were kind enough to discuss a collaboration and as a result, here we are to test out the gear with an inaugural run of autos. Each week, we’ll try to expand on some of the benefits of each, as well as any limiting factors or considerations that need attention when pondering purchase. Already I can say that both are high quality products in terms of overall craftsmanship. MarsHydro 2x4 Grow Tent: Excellent construction in terms of durability. Reinforced stitching on the zippers and corners ensures zero tearing. Conveniently placed screen vents and intake/exhaust ports. The ceiling exhaust port only exists on the right side. Perfect for me but not great if you’re running exhaust from the top on the left side (left side wall port makes up for this however). The aluminum frame is rigid enough to support the weight of the lights and accessories. Once you have some weight in the tent, she’s go’n nowhere and you can assemble and break it down in record time if moving or stashing the grow op. Only limiting factors I’ve noticed is that temp. Control will be an issue for a tent. It just doesn’t have the same insulating ability as a wood cabinet or other permanent enclosed space. No worries, this is offset by a small desktop heater and keeps the environment exactly where desired. The other issue was a production problem - the ceiling vent was accidentally stitched into the corner seams on the assembly line. Again, no real issue - just pulled it out with no damage or fraying to the tent or port👍. Closest comparable to it that I’ve seen would be spiderfarmers line of qbs. They feature the same top-o-the-line components and roughly similar spectrums. Where VS takes the advantage is in the convenience of the dimmer nob which is easily accessible and works great at 50% with no strobing👍. The heat sink is also larger which contributes to lower temps. That’s not a good thing in my case but beneficial for most folks. I can already say that this will be a great fixture through all stages of growth. Where I know this light will excel will be in the veg. Stage for sure. Dimming function gives seedlings a much better chance of success with the ability to use lower lighting levels early on and the coverage area on a 240w is great. The average grower will find this panel suitable and fitting to their needs in a 2x4 grow space although I’d suggest 2 units if going any larger than that. The total output in this space equates to about 30w/sq.ft. Which is a decent amount of coverage based on power vs. Growprint. Ideal for veg. Certainly but, in flower - I tend to run closer to 50-60w/sq.ft to achieve higher yields. Again, similar fixtures have performed admirably in the past and while this wouldn’t be considered an “entry-level” fixture, I’d recommend that any grower new to the game not skimp on lighting and start with one of these. The price points are a great value for quality LED tech. These days, so there’s little reason to even consider a lesser fixture👍. I have no detail on limiting factors for this light as yet but have heard that stock branded fixtures don’t necessarily incorporate enough red diodes. I’ve seen no issue myself but confess - I’m no lighting guru. Was topped once or twice, had a vegetative stage of 5 or so weeks (including seedling stage) Im always taking plants in and out and this was one i decided to take to flower late, knowing i had a "autopot 1pot" system coming (3) Found out today - if the fabric is clean and dosnt drop anything into the autopot tray, it seems to be fine! Ofcourse some genetics won't like the "wet feet", and could maybe use a riser because of this... But il test my luck! Have 2 Terpyz mutants in autopots... Not sure if il out them on a diary yet as they have been transitioned super early + could be males!
