Grow Diary: Week 8 – Training and Sunlight Transitions The Durban Poison quartet is hitting its stride this week. Looking at the latest photos and video, it’s clear that the training regimen is paying off. The focus of Week 8 has been "Low Stress, High Reward" as the plants prepare for their final move. Plant Progress: Structural Integrity The visual profile of DP1, DP4, DP5, and DP6 is looking fantastic. The foliage is a thick, vibrant green, and the node spacing is tight, indicating they are getting optimal light levels. Training Technique: The colored LST stakes (red, yellow, and green) are doing a great job of pulling the main stems and secondary branches down. This is creating a level canopy, ensuring that no single "top" is hogging all the sun. Leaf Profile:You can really see those classic Sativa fan leaves coming in—long, slender fingers that are starting to overlap. Root Health:** The main stalks are thickening up nicely, showing good woody strength that will be necessary once they are in the larger 25-gallon bags. The "Defensive Perimeter" Status** The video and photos show the African Marigolds are making great progress in their Solo cups. Current State: They are showing multiple sets of true leaves and look ready for their supporting role. Placement: Having them staged right next to the DP plants on the deck ensures they are already familiarizing themselves with the local environment before the big transplant. The Indoor/Outdoor Rotation The photos highlight the flexibility of the current setup. Sun Chasing: The plants were captured both under the supplemental indoor lighting and out on the deck. Out of the 6 Ginger Punch Autos, 4 are looking like healthy seedlings, 1 has some helmet head and is a little behind compared to the others, and 1 of them died :( The Kritic Auto hasn't sprouted yet. Not sure what to do with this one. Next week I'll have another LED to have some more light as they go into the vegetative stage. But I would love some high quality lights, but unfortunately I'm on a budget at the moment. Stay tuned!

28.08.2025 Leider habe ich den notdürftig befestigten Ast verloren und er war tatsächlich so groß wie eine reguläre Indoor-Pflanze 😅. Es tat mir in der Seele weh, mich von ihm verabschieden zu müssen. Zurzeit ist es sehr stürmisch und regnerisch und ich kann froh sein, wenn ich auch nur eine einzige Blüte ernten werden kann. Sie ist sooo riesig und sprengt den Balkonplatz. Unglaublich!

What’s up y’all!!?? Week 7 update is kinda bland. The bud sites are growing fuller which is exciting to see. A weak smell is apparent. Same feeding schedule as last week. I give a normal PH’d watering every few days in between the feedings just to get some of the nutrient build up out of the cocoa / perlite mix. I did a heavy defoliation in the beginning of the week. There are some lower bud sites which I’m hoping are getting more sunlight since I defoliated. Of course by the end of the week the leaves are back and big once again. I’ve been tucking them instead of putting the plant thru any further stress at this point. See y’all in week 8

Muy interesante el perfil de Papaya y Limón!

Aug 9: Lemon Cream Kush is doing fine and is starting to stretch a bit. I’m surprised how much it grew last week. Got the UV led lights from AC Infinity going. The sunlight gets weak here quickly starting in mid-August and the UV helps form trichomes. Used it last year and it seems to help. Nice weather days only as these lights are not intended for outdoor use.

So they’re still stretching, I thought they were slowing down a couple days ago, but then I walked in today and realised shit, they’re still going, must have grown another 3 inches since yesterday. They have almost filled out the whole 6x4ft space, a little space by the door and in the corners, the floor is looking well shaded which I am happy about, as that means I am not wasting too many photons. I have an maybe another 10/15cm of spare vertical capacity before I’m going to have to start some emergency super-cropping. Starting to get a little anxious I still haven’t changed out the reservoir from 16 days ago, although my top ups have been the same composition as noted above. I think I will drain her out tomorrow which has a drastically lower ratio of nitrogen. I have to say, this Botanicare range is incredibly stable and forgiving once you get past mid veg. As for the genetics, she knows how to grow without little fuss. Maybe I have been very lucky, time will tell once I finish my next grow with a different strain. The plant at the back of the room is a little squat compared to the other two but maybe she will catch up. Waffled on a bit here, thanks for stopping by, have fun all!

Just starting , This is my soil mix! Only took two days to break soil pretty sweet!!

BT32...Zum Glück sehe ich nach wie vor keine Bananen, aber ein paar Pistillen sind braun geworden, könnte eine erfolgte Bestäubung sein, könnte aber auch eine normale Alterserscheinung sein nach 4 Wochen Blüte. Buds könnten schneller wachsen, aber legen doch deutlich zu. Hatte vor ein paar Tagen etwas Lichtstress, nachdem ich etwas hochgedreht habe (ca. 75%). Gelbe Spitzen und beetende Blätter. Wieder runtergedreht auf ca. 60% Leistung und die Symptome waren am nächsten Tag weg. Habe ein letztes Mal etwas organischen Topdress gemacht mit Guano, Eierschalen, Urgesteinsmehl in etwas magerer Erde gemischt. Mulch wurde mit neuen Blättern und etwas Rasenschnitt aufgefüllt (Grün:Braun/"N:C" 1:3). Morgen gibt es einen Komposttee (Kompost, Melasse). Die untersten Blätter sind gestern abgefallen, waren aber nicht komplett gelb leergesaugt, sondern sind vertrocknet. Habe die oberste Schicht recht feucht gehalten, aber den ganzen Topf zu trocken gehalten. Ist ein schmaler Grat zwischen durchgehend feucht (rein organischer Grow mit viel Leben) und übergossen. Hoffe, die Nährstoffe kommen relativ schnell an. Ab Woche 7 gibt's nur noch Wasser.

Week 4 over for wa girl. Soil PH was off this week and the ppm levels was way too high after I tested my runoff. So this week was mainly about flushing and trying to get the medium back to ideal conditions. So far she’s recovered well and been cruising ever since. There are a lot of new tops showing up so I need to lightly defoliate and tuck in some leaves to allow even light distribution on the canopy. Temperatures have been assessed, I could see stress on a few of my plants already. Really interesting plant though, the smell has started coming out and it’s lovely 😍 Let’s see how everything goes. Flowering day 49 since time change to 12 / 12 h Hey guys :-) All ladies look very healthy and delicious :-) We're slowly getting closer to the end. Watering was done twice this week, each time with 1.2 l (sewing materials see table above) At the next watering there is a very light rinse with Clean Fruits so that the last nutrients can be slowly used up.
