. YEAR 5 - 1st quarter ---------------------- The 5th season begins with the same setup. The novelty of this season is the substrate: from this point on, all my indoor grows will be done in coco coir. Five Northern Lights plants, 2 from RQS indoor and 3 from Zamnesia outdoor, take up the first quarter. With 5 plants, they will produce 212 g. For the first time, one of them alone exceeds 100 g. Second award on GD: 9th place in the DOTW 🙏

Doing well end of first week of flower !!

Well it was a fast strain just like they say, it comes and goes in 8 to 9 weeks easily, I just added a week to fatten up the buds, I am very impressed what these boys in Cali are creating, kudos FB! I am sure I will be satisfied once I get to actually taste my cookies. PS - does anyone know if i input my Grow room size correct, my tent is 80cm x 80cm x 100cm, thanks for any help!😋00

Que pasa familia, vamos con la primera semana de vida de estas Rainbow melon feminizadas de fastbuds. Vamos al lío , las 3 semillas que germinaron con éxito se colocaron en macetas de 0.6 litros y asomaron 3 , 100% ratio germinado. El ph se controla en 6.2 , la temperatura la tenemos entre 20/22 grados y la humedad ronda el 50%. El ciclo de crecimiento puse 18h de luz, el foco está al 75% de potencia. Day 91 - Started week 14 off with 2 gallons of plain pH’d water. It’s looking like this will probably be her final week and she’ll get the chop this coming weekend. I’m still thinking I’m not going to do a full harvest, I’ll chop the main buds and such and see if I can get the lower popcorn shit to fatten up. This is one of the best plants I’ve grown to date and want to maximize as much of her as I can. Day 92 - She’s getting really close now, I can almost taste her. Thinking about chopping most of here either Friday or Saturday. Buds are nice and dense and wanna get the lower popcorn to fill in after chopping the main colas. Not seeing much for amber trichs but there’s a few in there and she’s all cloudy other than that. Day 93 - Gave her 2 more gallons of plain water today and that will probably be it. She will be getting chopped this weekend and gonna let her dry completely up before cutting. Starting to show quite a bit of amber trichs so she’s ready, just holding out till Friday.

I was out of town for a week so not too much to say in this update. They're coming up on 60F but have just barely started the fade so I'm thinking another 2 weeks or so from this point. Nothing but plain water from here until harvest.

Good week aside from the 3 larger ones yellowing or turning lime green….they are all getting the same food wonder if they need some more nitrogen or a calmag hit to keep em goin. It’s just the leaves…the bud sites are all still a good green color…any ideas def lmk happy farming yall

Today i removed the big bottom leaves and also at the whole plant inside to get a better airflow. Bud producing starts.. Smells already in my tent.. Edit: 1 day after defol she starts to pray very heavy, how cool!!

Done with drying, I cut her bud sites and placed them into a mason jar. I bought the boveda packs that are 62% RH. Now time to sit and wait 2-3 weeks and see what the finished product is like. Again everyone thank you for watching the grow up! 🙌🏾🔥🌱 I do have another diary with 5 auto berry’s, if anyone would like to continue watching the grow up. 🙌🏾🔥🌱 I have a lot more confidence in the autos just because this grow was my first time grow. 7/12 Soil was a little damp so I watered lightly only what looked like it needed it. Dr. Zymes seems to have no negative effects. Plants just look super clean. I still saw some patches of PM and I only had the free samples so I'm going to have to use another product in conjunction to treat this. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the Dr. Zymes. HAD MY VIDEO AND TONS OF PICS UPLOADED BUT THIS SITE WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO SAVE. I'LL UPLOAD THE REST LATER "IF" THIS EVEN ALLOWS ME TO SAVE. Went back over at three and watered the girls. Everything looks amazing. Trying to upload video now. 7/13 Didn't water this morning. Plants look fantastic. Went over at 4:30pm. Things looked great. Definitely stretching. I took some good pictures. Didn't water as plants seemed VERY happy and soil still had a little moisture. I gave them a touch of kindness which means I gave them a tiny bit of water to hold them over until morning. I know this is not a good practice to get into but I didn't want to come back to wilting plants. The little seedlings are turning more lime green (which isn't good) and have some yellow leaves. They have recycled soil from last grow. May need to feed more. I went through them and moths flew everywhere. We have a major brown tail moth problem here. I know I just sprayed Dr. Zymes but I'm going to have to spray BT. I must've seen at least half a dozen moths. On just those three tiny plants. Still struggling with PM. 7/14 Went to the garden briefly this morning. It rained last night and was drizzling while I was there so I obviously didn't water. Its still sprinkling and I'll be over there later to check. Plants are really stretching into "the asparagus" stage as I like to call it lol. What will eventually be a bunch of colas stretch into what I think looks like asparagus spears. That may be part of the reason why some of the leaves turn yellow and die in the lower middle canopy during this time. Everything looks great though and I certainly have plenty of leaves. I looked at last year's diary at this date and got some relief noticing the same things happening last year at the same time of year. UPDATE: Went back to the grow as the "rain" and "thunder showers" weren't producing much water. I checked the soil and it seemed to have dried out some (more on smaller bags) and hadn't FULLY watered the plants. I watered lightly. I listened and I could hear the water work it's way down the medium. Even if it pours tonight plants will be ready for a feed tomorrow. The 3 little ones in buckets outside especially. I have work to do tomorrow. 7/15 It's overcast today and looks like rain. Forecast called for a nice sunny day. Anyway I fed two gallons to nutes to the garden and did some slight defoliation. I had to hurry as I had a doctor's appointment. I have branches that need to be tied down and plants need to be cleaned up a bit. If it's not raining I may do a preventative BT spray. We have a HORRENDOUS outbreak of brown tail moths. I don't think the bother cannabis but they are poisonous and the rash that develops is hell. 90 degrees at 6:30 plants weren't totally dry but the top inch or so was so I gave them a good drink. Took some pictures and a video I'll upload when I have a better connection. Cop was watching me. Good thing I'm in a legal state and my grow is totally on point. 7/16 No water this morning. Soil was still wet. Plants are looking good. Will update more later on. Defoliation, pruning and spraying are on the agenda. Made a video and took more pictures but internet is spotty and doesn't want to upload. Went back and watered lightly before a massive thunder storm dropped sheet rain for like an hour. Internet is still slow so I'll have to wait till tomm to upload. 7/17 No water. Brown tail moth rash is driving me crazy. Plants still stretching and look overall healthy. Defoliated some this morning. Will update more later. Went back over and gave a little water before it began to downpour. 7/18 Raining with what looks like more rain in the forecast. Good. Hopefully will help me lower the pH a little. I didn't take pictures or even go in the cage this morning. This brown tail moth rash has me scared lol. It really sucks. Makes poison ivy seem pleasant. When rain stops BT will be sprayed.

But its worth noting i have never actually done this before and trying to document it during....was extremely hard. It is next to impossible to work an iPhone with rubber gloves on ! First I want to discuss everything step by step so before you jump straight into the comments on how the end product is so small in "quantity" Rest assured i am happy with its"quality"...and thats all that matters to me because Life is a journey not a destination! and i have learned so much from this grow that I couldn't be any happy even if i messed some things up :) But at the very least I hope you read through this entry in its entirety with an open mind and focus more on the process, rather than just the outcome! I ran out of Ice & i was only able to wash three times..(normally I've heard you should go sometimes 5-6 washes) Preparation is Key & things will be much better next round :) Photos 1-22 These are pretty self explanatory but for those of you just tuning in now.. this is what happens to a very happy plant when you don't have the necessary tools to monitor key components of growing cannabis.. Ph, as well as EC levels play a very key role in the outcome of your grow lol that being said I was just able to save this plant by purchasing both tools but that doesn't mean the plant didn't suffer because of the prior events.. This was a Huge reason behind me choosing to turn this harvest into what i would consider "Solventless Hash Rosin" from "Ice water extracted Bubble hash". Pictures 23 The idea here is the process of using "fresh Frozen Cannabis" this has been discussed many a time online on such sites as instagram and here on grow diaries as well.. I personally have Never tried the process so i decided to try it out and make a judgement for myself.. Video 24 The Cannabis has now been in the freezer for 72 hours making it very well frozen.. as you can tell i struggled getting it all into the 25u Screen Wash Bag. One thing of note i would do differently is i will de-stem my next batch as i also believe this played a part in the amount of plant matter that escaped through the sieves. Photo/Video's 25-28 The idea here is "ice water Seiving" & especially with the bags that I am using here that are only have screen material on the bottom portion of the bag it is very important to have spaces in-between the screens to allow the water to pass directly through the screens into the bottom bucket with the least amount of resistance.. because the hash is so extremely temperature dependant if it gets warm on the side of the bag.. it will stick there and not make it to the bottom to become use able product.. 29 You do not need to use as much Ice as i used here lol... the idea is to keep everything very cold..i certainly achieved that but at the sacrifice of using so much that i ended up grinding product and producing "contaminants" but in the end they are just plant matter that i would be smoking when i rolled up my joint either way so.. I'm not super disappointed.. But it should be noted that what you want to achieve here is a Layering effect where you have the wash bag between two small layers of ice while the "water current" washes the Trichomes away allowing them to be separated by the screens setup below :) Before Starting the machine you should allow some time (i.e.;10-12minutes pre soak to allow the product to become saturated) before the first cycle. By video 32 I have just ran out of ice lol.. Video 33-34 Here I have a tip for you.. to separate the screens that you sieve through.. cut 5 gallon buckets to stretch them across nice and tight.. it'll make scooping your Bubble that much easier ! i learned this from the many "Frenchy" videos I have watched :) Picture 35 Here in lays the problem for most people.. drying your hash without loosing vast amounts of "Terpenes" whilst also stay ever vigilant against mold ! Thanks to all those videos I've watched on youtube.. id like to think this was one of my most successful parts of this process.. Things to Note; Terpenes start to seriously evaporate at temperatures 68F or 20C you need to stay as cold as possible whilst bringing the Relative Humidity in the space down into the 40-30% to stay away from that nasty mold ! I used my cold storage room in the basement.. with a dehumidifier running to keep the space at 45% RH & staying at a constant 15c. All while spreading the hash as thin as possible across parchment paper, on top of the white screens with a fan moving air across both sides of the paper. Pictures 36-38 These are some macros i took in the middle of my drying session I fell in love with the colour. Yes i know the black spots are plant material but they will get caught when i bag the hash & squish the oil out. Thing to Note; at this stage it is important to ensure you 'micro plane" the hash down as fine as you can whilst staying weary of the temperature... any "chunks" will hold pockets of moisture.. that lead to potential problems..ie; mold ... Picture/Video 39-41 Successfully planed bubble hash ready to be bagged and Squished ! Picture 42 Ive decided to follow Pedro.. from Pedros Grow Room and double bag to be on the safe side so i don't have any blow outs. So thats One 25u bag inside one 160u bag ! :) Pictures 43 This is almost 3 grams of the bubble hash from above, already melting in the bag.. this is where i ran into trouble again lol things started getting to warm in the house and i was only able to get one of the three squish's i did on video :( things started getting sticky. Picture 44 This is basically just a photo of the equipment I'm using; 3x5 LowTemp Cage in the frame I built myself, with a 20Ton bottle jack. Something to note here is this is an older Lowtemp model with only a single heating zone which is which i have it closed here heating Both sides of the press :) As well as the importance of having adequate pressure on your plates.. my rig is very overkill for the size of hash bags..lol Video 45 Here is the lovely press video.. its didn't quite work the way i wanted either lol my directional folding wasn't quite tight enough for a big "drip" :) &the Press was set to 65°c Photo's 46-50 are pretty self explanatory :) I had a blow out.. but still managed to pull an 80% return from the hash once squished...& yes it tasted amazing :) Was it worth it in the end... that could be debated.. for some..i understand..its not your thing, but for those of us that are interested in making our own concentrates.. free from Solvents... I wouldn't make it any other way :) If even ONE of you reading this diary finds it helpful to reference for ANYTHING.....even if its "what not to do" ill consider it a success !
