I gave Isopropyl alcohol 70% equal parts water, 1 tsp cayenne, and kept enough for multiday application, what little population of aphids is left I shall catch them the next morning, opening the tent 10 min before lights on the clovers have yet to open, all the aphids hiding on undersides are easily visible, still none ever went near cannabis plant. Clovers are far tastier it seems. The alcohol kills on contact, the idea was to saturate the leaves with a light foliar application, and once I was done I ran it through the canopy with my hands making sure as much of the clover surface came in contact with the iso, once done turned on the fans and evaporate it quickly. Beautiful thing about Isopropyl is that it evaporates rapidly at room temperature way below boiling point leaving behind zero residual so nothing seeps its way into rootzones unless you spill it there. It is a magical solvent that leaves no trace that it was ever there. Its the beginnig of week 4 and by now the growbox is complete. It was truthfully said a lot of hard work and starting from the beginning again and again... But I DID IT! Cheers to all growers!

Week 10 done and dusted!!! She is as monsterous as ever 😂 Flowering going well! She is drinking an absurd amount! Probably 3 litres a day easy. I look forward to harvesting her tent-mates in the coming weeks so she can be spread out a bit better. I am pretty sure if she was grown alone, she would have filled up the entire tent. She is a prodigious grower!!

😈👹😈👹 DARK DEVIL AUTO®️!!! 😈👹😈👹 Finally getting around to a strain I’ve been dying to grow! I’m hoping for a successful germination rate, keeping my fingers crossed!🤞 For these girls I’ll be growing in two different mediums with a variety of nutrients and amendments from various brands. Of course as always, all inputs are 100% organic. No synthetics allowed in my garden! Two Dark Devils will be grown in Nectar For the Gods #4 Soil Mix and the other who will be grown in Malibu’s Baby Bu’s Potting Soil. Both of these mediums are considered premium and only have the best quality inputs. Both soils also contain coco coir. In my experience I have found that autoflowers grow so much better in soil mixed with coco. Anytime that I’ve grown in heavier based peat soils I get much smaller root balls and root mass in general compared to coco/peat mixed mediums. The NFG #4 is a much lighter substrate than the Bu’s because it’s filled with a ton of perlite and pumice. One benefit is that it also has basalt so it’s considered “paramagnetic”. The one thing I added to the NFG mix was organic Bio-Char blend made from Build A Soils bio char and locally sourced organic bio char. The Baby Bu’s medium is 100% Coco Coir based, mixed with their biodynamic compost, worm castings, bio char, and tons of other beneficial ingredients. This medium is slightly heavier than the NFG even though the NFG is peat and coco based. It really comes down to there being less aeration material in the Bu’s blend compared to the NFG. But hopefully the coco will make up for the lack of aeration compared to the Nectar #4. A benefit claimed by both companies is that their products are properly mixed and stored so the customer does not receive “HOT” soil. The mediums come lightly pre-amended but believe that the Baby Bu’s will have more nutrients than the NFG #4 mix as they claim their soil is an “all mix”. I will be feeding the plants with living oxygenated water, microbial inoculants and light compost teas until the plants look like they need more food. This is my first time growing in both mediums so we’ll see as I grow along! I will also be adopting the northern lights technique that I’m using on my Banana Blaze grow diary! Update: 12/16 All four seeds broke ground around the same time at 9:00pm. 100% successful germination rate. Let’s see how they progress into the vegetative state. Update: 12/18 one out of four seeds may be showing signs of damping off. All four were growing straight as an arrow but today one is slightly slouched and leaves are allowing water to soak in. This usually isn’t a great sign! Update: 12/19 Took the suspected damping off seedling out of her humidity dome and she improved overnight. She is the only one with a greenish colored stem while the other three all have distinctive red/brownish stems similar to other purple strains I have grown. Thanks for stopping by! 😈

Day 38 since starting germination: Everything is looking healthy and happy. I’ve continued leaf tucking & LST. Upped the amount of Diamond nectar from 1ml/gal to 4ml/gal and added Liquid Koolbloom to the feed. Keeping the lights on 20/4 has kept the average low temp a degree higher at 66. I also changed the positioning of the lights. Now the Atreum hydra-3200 is providing ~700 ppfd across the canopy. At this point I’m starting to feed for flower so when I did my water change I also changed the orientation of my RDWC buckets. I removed the bucket with the Northern Lights photo period from the loop so it could be connected to its own reservoir and be fed a veg nutrient solution while the Sour D auto gets its bloom nutrients. I’ve seen some saying a ph of ~6.5 is more ideal for autoflowers so I will be trying that this feed…which works out nice because my solution happened to be right there after mixing the nutrients.
