*** I set the weekly grow values in the diary to the values at end of week. Summary: Week two went great in terms of growth. No stalling, once the roots were in the water, they doubled in size every day. Spent the week dialing up LED light each day and boosting nutrients accordingly. Didn't move net pots, just a peek in the bucket lid twice this week. All roots are white and healthy. MQ3 is shooting roots out of sides of net pot whereas MQ4 hasn't gotten to that point yet but both are doing great above and below the root zone. The reservoir smells healthy. Finished the week off with a 500PPM and these girls want more! Next week I'll make decisions on LST and topping. If they take well to the top, I may even try and main-line it if time is on her side before the stretch starts. --------------------------------------- March 27 (Day 13) --------------------------------------- Tent: 80-83F (Day) / 71-73F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-69F PH: 6.0 PPM: 310 / 390 LUX: 10K (LED) + 7K (T5) = 17K Leaf Temp: 84F (Day) - Both plants have roots in water now. - 1” below netpot. - Strong fishy smell in tent - nutrients. - PPM dropped to 310 overnight so they were hungry. - Added 10ml SensiGrow A/B to bring PPM to 390 - Raised T5s to 8” on both plants. - Upped LED light to 10k LUX - At 29” - PH climbed to 6.0 overnight - ph stayed at 6.0 after nutrient top off - Added visors for netpot for blocking light leak in net pot using panels made from black bristol board. - I tried a warmer temp for better VPD with LED lighting, but I don't think I can sustain the ambient temps properly without a water chiller. --------------------------------------- March 28 (Day 14) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-70F PH: 6.1 PPM: 360 / 390 LUX: 10K (LED) + 7K (T5) = 17K Leaf Temp: 81F (Day) - PH bumped up to 6.1 overnight. - PPM dropped to 360 overnight but i moved the EC probe and it eded up at 390 again. - Nutrient smell is minimized now. - Added 10ml of Orca - Added 8ml of Z9 pt 1 and pt 2. - PPM stayed around 390 all day. - Bumped up led light to 12k LUX - total lux at plant is 17k with T5. - Drained water to a couple of inches below netpot - water level sitting just at top of bulkhead nut. - Fishbone air-roots starting. --------------------------------------- March 29 (Day 15) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-70F PH: 6.2 PPM: 360 LUX 12K (LED) + 7K (T5) = 19K Leaf temp: 80F (Day) - Nutrient smell is minimized and tent is back to smelling normal. - PH bumped up to 6.2 overnight. - PPM dropped to 360 - Water back to 66f after lights out period. - Seems like they’ve doubled in size yesterday. - Dialed down air pump for the stones under net pots a bit - I continue to worry about the rapid rooter being too wet - really considering moving to a neoprene collar system. --------------------------------------- March 30 (Day 16) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-70F PH: 6.3 PPM: 380 LUX: 15K (LED) + 7K (T5) = 22K Leaf temp: 80F (Day) - PPM back up to 380 overnight. - PH went up to 6.3 - Bumped up LED light to 15k LUX - half way on dimmer dial now. 30” distance. Total lux at plant is 20k with T5. - Plants are 5” wide now. Inner nodes starting up. --------------------------------------- March 31 (Day 17) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-71F PH: 6.4 / 6.2 PPM: 380 / 460 LUX: 18K (LED) + 7K (T5) = 25K Leaf Temp: 79F (Day) - Plants doubled in size again: MQ#3 up to 7” wide now. - PH went to 6.4 overnight. - PPM sitting at 180 in morning. - Added 15ml of SensiGrow A & B - Added 10ml of Orca - Added 8ml of Z9 - Bumped LED light to 18k LUX - Added 20ml of B52 - Checked roots for first time in a week by peeking in bucket, not disturbing - nice and white! MQ3 is starting to shoot out of sides of net pot. - Res smells healthy. - Plants are about 7” wide now. - Fourth node starting. Final Values: PH: 6.2 PPM: 460 --------------------------------------- April 1 (Day 18) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-71F PH: 6.4 PPM: 450 / 460 LUX 21K (LED) + 7K (T5) = 28K Leaf Temp: 79F - PH was back at at 6.4 in morning. Since I’m using ph perfect, I’ll let it ride until next water change and just accept its a healthy uptake scenario. - PPM dropped from 460 to 450 by morning. - PPM back up to 460 at night - Turned up LED to 21k LUX --------------------------------------- April 2 (Day 19) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-70F PH: 6.5 / 6.6 PPM: 450 / 500 - PH went to 6.5 in morning then 6.6 by late in day after small nutrient boost. Still going to let it ride until water change with ph perfect. - Added 5ml of of SensiGrow A and B - PPM went from 450 to 500 after added nutrients. - Added 10ml of Orca - Water change tomorrow - was busy today so I added the Orca just as a safe measure with the PH consistently climbing, which I'm feeling is just plants feeding.
