Starting another organic run. First orgo run is doing fantastic, I’d like to try to repeat my steps and hone my skills a bit more with this gorilla glue auto run. Did a direct sow into substrate, covered with water bottle halves, light is at ~36” and 25% intensity. Will circle back to populate germ date after these ladies emerge. I added a few pics of medium that I found very strange and have never encountered before...there was a mass of seedlings (not cannabis) growing in the sealed bag! Had to have happened at the manufacturer? Anyone ever see this before? No strange odor, seemed otherwise normal. I screened them out and drove on...hopefully there’s no issue. I think it’ll be fine. And so I embark on another grow-venture! Thanks!

2 of the 4 gorilla glue did not pop, I’m kinda shocked. I gave these 2 a week and they never developed. I dig them up and they had very small tap roots, maybe 2-3 mm, but they were clearly dead. I decided to forgo 2 more GG and instead dropped 2 northern lights I had, they should pop in a day or two (hopefully).

GG’s are doing well. One has some strange pale markings on random sections of leaves. It almost looks like snail or leaf hopper damage, but that is impossible because this is an indoor grow that is under highly controlled conditions (I still looked for snails and hoppers). The plant does not seem to be bothered by it and continues to thrive...I’ll keep an eye on it, but could just be a genetic thing. The 2 NL’s I planted both popped and are also doing great. I had some left over compost tea from a separate grow that I didn’t want to waste and ended up giving each seedling about 100-150 mL’s...I poured this on the most lateral extent of the seedling (around permitted of pot). I was more giving it to the soil and microbe colony to beef up the medium a bit. Thanks!

All are doing fantastic. GG’s are trucking along, NL’s I tossed in are a week behind, but given these are on the faster side for autos they are catching up in size. The week stagger due to 2 GG’s not popping will be negligible by harvest time...they very well may all finish at same time (it’s all relative). The one GG that has the odd markings on first set of leaves still shows no other sign that this is going to be a significant complication. Thus far, it is a visual blemish and that’s it. Of course I will lament over it, but I think it may just be a genetic hiccup...fingers crossed it is only “skin deep”. All in all, off to a great start. Will be applying a few lessons learned this time around. I’m still pretty sad about how small the buds were in my first orgo run. I’ll be adding in a few more things this time around, watching my N in flower, and move towards a fungal based tea in flower. I may try my hand at culturing some barley and stilling the tea for 48 hours...I have some time to figure out a game plan. Will be starting LST next week, other than that these ladies are on auto pilot. Thanks!!

Lots of growth this past week, I feel like all have nearly doubled in size. The GG’s are just about to enter their transition from veg to flower. There is a pistol or 2 on each. The NL’s continue to play catch up, but no signs of transition...I’d have been shocked if I noted any pistils. By next week they should start appearing. I have the girls their first compost tea, catered to the vegetative stage, so lots on N, small amounts of P and K, and of course a nice boost of food for the microbial colony in medium. I started some low stress training and all have taken to it nicely. This lot seems pretty quick to recover so I have been manipulating each every other day to spread out those canopies. Next week I’ll top dress the GG’s, and likely will hold back a week (maybe) before I top dress the NL’s. I’m going to keep a closer tab on how much N they ladies get when in flower...I think it was the extra N in teas that led to small buds at harvest. I’ll also be upping P and K by quite a bit, so I may be too dressing with bloom only. Thanks, take it slow!

The GG’s are def in pre-flower, the NL’s are popping little baby pistils left and right. These plants, I’m guessing more the GG, are quite odorous. I don’t mind, but just a little FYI for anyone wanting to grow these girls. It’s quite obvious in hall outside of my veg room. I may be flipping on that carbon filter very soon…I don’t typically run it unless plants are pungent. I top dressed all 4 girls with 3 tbsp of 2-8-4 all purpose from Gaia green, and 1 tbsp of bat guano. I broke up surface 1/2 inch or so, applied over entire surface area, mixed in and watered. I also added some great white, 1/2 tsp/gal H2O, as I neglected to do this last run. I’ll add another round of myco in a couple weeks with next top dress. I continued with LST and did some minor pruning to expose blocked bud sites. Some of the NL fan leaves were absolutely massive…and a few had 9 finger leaves which I think is cool every time I see it. The rudies usually have 7, so it’s that mix of other genetics coming through…I dig it. I increased light intensity to about 60-65%, I’ll cont with LST, and will give first bloom based tea next week. I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch of things. Man this girls exploded with growth huh? Thanks!

I had an issue where I was unable to add in a weekly update, so posting this one a little late. All was going well until one morning when I got up and did my routine check only to find all but one plant pretty severely wilted. I had put on the exhaust fan the day before and we had a string of very hot days. The temp in tent was fine, humidity was pretty low. It was obvious that these girls were extremely thirsty...I think the dry heat and exhaust fan dried them out too fast. I watered and shut off exhaust fan. Within a few hours they bounced back, but I am very concerned about long term influence from this event. I gave another bloom based compost tea yesterday, plants are still doing alright. I spent the day relocating both my set ups to a room on the shady side of my homestead. Hopefully this helps, cant hurt...but what a pain to move everything. I'll be top dressing at the end of this week and that will be the last or second to last supplement for this run. Fingers crossed I caught the wilting early enough...final harvest will let me know. Thanks.

The week 6 update was a little late so week 7 is spread out between then and now in week 8. After the mis-step with under watering and excessive heat the girls seem to have bounced back just fine. Vertical growth is at a snails pace and bud development is taking off. I noticed some intermittent brown spots on a few leaves and I think they are both Ca and K deficient (I think…). The light was at its lowest point and we are well into flower so it could be a combo of these impacts resulting in the spotting. I gave a quick mix of NPK Raw N, Ca/Mg, P, K, and kelp to try and stave off any further damage. These girls are due for a compost tea in next day or two so I’ll be putting that mix together later today. It’s been pretty warm despite relocating my set ups to a cooler side of the house. I’ll be doubling up on fans to try and move cooler air into my grow room. The girls are at the point where they will start packing on the bud weight, things are moving along fine at the moment. Fingers crossed I have fixed previous grow issues and the buds on these girls will fatten up nicely. Thanks!!

My attempt to stave off any additional deficiency did not go as good as I hoped. In addition to the Raw NPK I gave, I also fed these girls a bloom based compost tea. I added worm castings and mushroom compost to the mix this time trying to get a little more N overall. I liked this tea, and the girls are due for another so I’ll repeat same recipe again in next day or two. I top dressed with 3 tbsp of Gaia green power bloom a few days ago so hopefully it should be kicking in slightly. The GG’s continue to put on mass and just recently the NL’s have come out of their poor development slump and have been producing more bud sites with small node spacing. There may be some hope for these ladies…only time will tell. I’ll continue to water at a pH between 6.2-6.5, alternating slightly to make sure I’m allowing a broader spectrum of uptake. I do fear that the harvest in end will not be all that exciting…I will absolutely get bud, but quantity may not be there. This is my second attempt at an all organic grow and I think I may take a break and do some more research. It’s a lot of time and work and if I’m not able to max a particular strain to it full potential then I’m doing a dis-service to myself and my girls. We shall see…maybe I’ll surprise myself. Thanks for taking a look this week…only a few more of those left!!!

Things are looking pretty status quo, the GG’s cont to fatten up and the NL’s, which are a week behind, are pushing out a crazy bushel of pistils. The last top dress seems to be kicking in, and the compost tea from yesterday has made the girls quite happy. These girls still have white pistils and clear trichs so they have a few weeks to go…shouldnt be much linger for the GG’s. Have a great one all!!

The GG’s have been fading, one more so than the other. The girl in the back left is days away from harvest. Trichs are telling me it’s just about time, mostly cloudy and a few ambers. I decided to push a few more days because there were more than a few white pistils sticking straight out. I know that trich coloration paints a better picture, but something in my gut told me to wait a little longer. The other GG has bulked up considerably, she’s a lot more compact, and despite being same age as her sister, she def needs more time. Quite a few white pistils, and trichs are cloudy with no ambers that I could see. She will go another week or two…but I’ll keep a close eye on her and base things off of what she tells me. The NL’s have made significant progress, they are about a week to a week and a half behind the GG’s. I started with 4 GG’s, two didn’t make it, so in went 2 NL’s to fill the void and both survived. Same with these two, one is considerably taller and the other more compact. Both are bulking up quite nicely. The GG’s are getting water only, but the NL’s will get one last bloom based compost tea and then it’s a dash to the finish line. So far they are doing pretty good, I’m still dialing things in, but I think this orgo run is better than my first one…the scales will be the final judge. Take care all, thanks!!!

Overall the ILGM Gorilla Glue Auto is a solid strain. They did not give me much trouble, however, there is a marked difference between plants. Likely different phenos where seeds from multiple generations were tossed together…that’s a complete hues BTW. I don’t know how else to explain it given both were started at same time, fed same things, under same light and environmental conditions…I guess I could be the variable. It doesn’t really matter to me, I’m just pointing it out in case someone wants that info. This girl grew tall and was a little on the sparse side of yield. She was also ready before her sister which is still growing strong at the moment. Easy strain to run, they practically grew themselves. Nugs are few, but what I did get is beautiful. Nice and dense, great color, these are solid and I’m happy.

I harvested one of the GG’s, she was ready. Those pics and update coming very soon. The other GG is smaller and slower to finish, but she’s going to have the higher yield out of the two. She’s almost ready, only a few random amber trich’s here and there, plus she’s still got quite a few pistils sticking straight out. I’m in no rush, but I’m guessing she’ll be ready to chop in a few days. The NL’s are trucking along, they are roughly a week behind the GG’s. Both are doing great, one bigger and more sparse than the other…just like the two GG’s! The little one is going to have so plump dense nugs for sure! Just giving plain water, no longer pH’ing it. Trying to let them use up reserves and fade. All in all not too shabby this run…more to come!!

Two very different plants of the same strain, one lanky and tall the other short and dense. Def different one is, but again, they are autos and a lot is packed into these genetics….I’m not surprised at the difference between them. One finished a good week and a half to two weeks later than the first…that short one reminiscent of a cactus took longer and I eventually pulled the plug in her for fear she was going to rot! Some of those leaves we’re looking off for sure! Decent strain, easy to grow, I have a few seeds left but I think I’ll back burner these for a bit…lots more to get to in the meantime!!!

Ok…not sure what the deal is with this NL. She’s taking forever for an auto…I know it happens…but I’m on the fence if there is something nefarious going on. She started to pack on mass very late and finishing is the slowest I have seen in all my grows…she is just inching along at a snails pace. I am concerned not because she is slow to finish, more because her leaves are not yellowing and drying up…they are instead wilting and almost rotting. I have gone over each bud, I see no bud rot…but I am worried about what I can’t see! Other than the very wonky leaves I see no other issues. Trichs are cloudy, fade is good, pistils are browning and curling…but I can’t get over the rotten leaves. Fingers crossed this is just a one off I have yet to experience, maybe this happens? She’s just getting water when dry…fingers crossed she’s ready in about a week. I chopped the other NL and the 2nd GG, once those are dry I’ll back post their harvest details. This one can’t get done fast enough…my god is it slow…geez man!!
