First time grower, looking forward to producing something under artificial lights. I soaked seeds in room temp water over night then sowed 1cm deep in soil mix (ph6.7) and sprinkled with great white mycorrhizae. Watered with spring water adjust to ph6.5 (using distilled vinegar) and put in propagator under a towel in my diy seedling cabinet and set temp to 25 degrees Celsius. Soil mix: 10 parts multi purpose compost 10 parts coco coir 3 parts perlite 2 parts vermiculite 1/2 part blood fish and bone It’s what I have used to grow chillis in for the past couple of years and it seems to work well for them.

Getting to know how to set up the temps and humidity in this small grow cabinet. Using an InkbirdSmart temp controller which seems a good buy. Day 1. Removed the towel this morning as eddy 1 has sprouted 🌱🌱🌱🌱 just waiting on eddy 2. Eddy 2 sprouted while I was at work 🌱🌱🌱🌱 so we’re off to the races! Light is currently just two regular 20w 4000k led strips arranged around a bit of plywood. Currently building a grow cabinet from my old garage shelves which will hopefully have enough size for a full grow. * dropped a hygrometer on Eddy 1 on day six which bent him out of shape a bit! Currently watering about once every 2 days but only if the soil is dry and pot is light

Eddy 1 seems ok after the accident Added a small circulation fan which has really helped get the humidity at a good range (between 45% and 55%). Watering with 100ml each of ph adjusted water every 2-3 days. Every other water has a pinch of mycorrhizae mixed in. Finally got new cabinet finished on day 14 so transplanted to final pots and put them to bed.

Got the first smell when I opened the cabinet on day 16 so will connect the carbon filter at the weekend and put fan on constantly. Started using a small amount of cal mag with every feed, I don’t think there are any signs of deficiencies but I read it’s not going to hurt to use it as a preventative measure. Damping down a wet microfibre towel twice a day and hanging it in the cabinet has brought the humidity up from mid 20’s to around 40-50% Also added a couple of pendants and some switching to the lighting as I have a couple of cfls that I’m hoping will add a bit extra during flowering.

Day 22. Thought I’d give LST a go. Holy shit was that tense! Hopefully I’ve done it right and not done any damage. Also given first nutes, I went with 1/4 the recommended dose as I don’t really see any signs of deficiencies. My only concern is both plants seem quite short compared to other diaries with not a lot of growth between each node. Do I need to get them to stretch somehow? Day 23. Man, I’m so pleased with the progress from yesterday. Everything that was turned down after LST is already facing up to the light. Only problem is I now don’t know if LST recovery is always like this or is it because I added first nutes on the same day? Tucked a few leaves on each plant to get more light to lower branches but after the way they recovered after yesterday I’m expecting the fan leaves to pop right back to the top. Day 24. Most tucked leaves did go back to original positions, but there is definitely growth on the lower branches. So I have adjusted the LST and re-tucked. Hopefully not long until I can tie down some secondary branches. Watered 1l each with 1/4 nutes, cal mag and a pinch of great white. Dropped the lights a couple of cm closer. Day 25. Spotted the first pre flowers on eddy 2 today. Although she’s a few hours younger she really seems to have overtaken eddy 1 in the last day or so. Tightened up LST and tucked leaves again. Day 26. Eddy 2 is flying ahead now, done some LST on secondary branches. I have switched their positions in the cabinet to see if this bring eddy 1 along a bit. Not quite ready for next watering today. So should be tomorrow. Day 27. Watered this morning with 1/4 nutes. Upped amount of water to 1.5l per plant which gave about 8% run off. Bit more LST on eddy 2 as she seems to respond really well. Eddy 1 still lagging behind. Wonder if it’s due to dropping a hygrometer on her in week 1? Day 28. Nothing done today. Thought they could do with a day off.

Should I up the nutes? I’ve been feeding 1/4 amount for the last 3 feeds. I’ve read that after first week of 1/4 up it to 1/2, but from what I can see (foliage pic added) everything looks like it’s quite healthy. Will plant benefit with more or should I stay as I am? Cheers

Hi mate, your plant looks really healthy so I would hold of just now. Soil growing is very forgiving so you'll see issues straight away. I'd wait till she had grown a little before increasing nutrients. By that time you may be in flower so it works out. Good luck and happy growing.

Day 29. After yesterday’s lazy day eddy 1 was finally ready today for some LST on her secondary branches, which went alright. On eddy 2 I bit the bullet and defoliated some of the large bottom leaves that weren’t getting much light. Honestly don’t know if I’ve done the right thing as I’ve heard so many different opinions, but time will tell. Added a 6500k cfl 45w above eddy 1 to help her catch up. Day 30. Eddy 2 looking fine after yesterday’s defoliation. Adjusted LST on both plants. Took a couple of bottom fan leaves off of eddy 1. Watered 1.5 litres each with 1/4 nutes. No run off on eddy 2 so will up to 2 litres next feed. Day 31. Nothing done today. Day 32. Nothing done today. Day 33. Lovely bit of growth after being left alone for a couple of days. Think eddy 2 will start flowering any time now if she hasn’t started already. Eddy 1 seems to have caught up a bit but I reckon she’s about 2 days behind. Also added a 45w 2700k cfl above eddy 2 to aid with flowering. More LST, defoliation and 2 litres of 1/4 nutes water (6.3ph) for each plant. Day 34. Fuck! I’ve broken eddy 1. Must have over tightened the LST on the main stem as it has snapped nearly all the way through overnight ! Only good thing is that the end has still corrected itself towards the light, So I’m hoping it’s still getting what it needs to live. I will ask a grow question for opinions on what to do. Day 35. I’ve added a support to the broken side of eddy 1 to help take the weight when she starts to flower. Also watered with 1/4 pre flower nutes. Eddy 2 has switched over to 1/2 flowering nutes so will keep a close eye to see how she handles them.

Hi, I have broken the main stem on a fast eddy automatic while doing LST. I only noticed it this morning after LST yesterday. The tip of the stem and all leaves after the break seem to have bounced back up to the light since yesterday. will she be ok? Anything I can do to help?

If you are happy with the direction your plant is growing, just leave as it is, it will be fine and grow normally despite the fractured stem. There is no need to bandage the fracture in any way - covering it with something is more likely to induce a mould or fungus to attack the break. Leave it to air dry and it will heal over with a crust and be perfectly fine. Trying to move it after leaving it for so long will likely cause more damage and is not recommended. If this happens again in the future, using a splint attached with some soft wire or string above and below the break, and put in place within a few minutes of the break occurring can result in the break healing completely, allowing you to remove the splint after 2-3 weeks, checking that the stem can hold the weight before removing the splint entirely. A bamboo stake, skewer or wooded stick all make good splints, but once again, make sure not to cover the fracture when tying on the splint, the fracture needs to air dry and heal. I keep a selection of dried and various lengths and thicknesses of cannabis stems/branches from previous harvests for use as splints, should I have a need to use them in future grows. It is then simply matching the old stem size to the size of the fractured stem/branch. High stress training can involve snapping stems and is very similar to fractures, and the plants do not seem to suffer in any way from this technique. Cannabis is a remarkably resilient plant and I have had tree branches fall on outdoor plants, doing many fractures and much damage, but after removing the tree branches and allowing a couple of days for the cannabis plant to sort itself out, have had them then grow and flower as though nothing ever happened to them at all. Hope this helps,............ Organoman.

The two curling leaves in the bottom picture look like there is a hotspot. If it’s the plant the cfl light was on it’s probably just a little light bleach. You usually want them like 4-6” from leaf. Happy growing looking good!

Day 36. Nothing done today. Day 37. Nice growth on both plants. Really starting to see the bud formation on eddy 2. Did a bit of defoliation on eddy 1 as she’s very bushy, but she has definitely started to flower. Also swapped out the 6500k cfl above her for a 2700k Watered both plants with 2 litres of ph6.2 water with 1/2 the recommended GH flowering nutes with a bit of cal/mag and a pinch of great white mycorrhizae. Day 38. Tightened up LST on eddy 2. She’s pretty much filled the diameter of the pot so will probably just let her grow straight up from now on. Eddy 1 doing ok after the break but she’s definitely a slow grower compared to her sister. Day 39. Noticed some brown spots on the leaves of eddy 2. Think it may be calcium or magnesium deficiencies after looking at images on google. I’ve upped the dose of cal mag to 1ml/l which is what the bottle recommends. Both plants watered 2 litres with 1/2 flowering mix. Day 40. Asked a question about the browning leaves and it Seems it may be a hot spot so I have moved the cfl’s and the Mars hydro slightly further away. Hopefully this stops it. Day 41. Did some LST on eddy 1 on the branches before the damaged stem. I’m starting to think that with the extra few days vegging she may end up being the bigger plant. Day 42. Watered both plants 2 l @ half recommended flower nutes.

Day 43. Nothing done today Day 44. Got a new close up camera attachment so can now get some nice trichome shots. Eddy 2 is really stretching out nicely and building buds. Even though I’ve done LST the main cola is still a lot bigger than the rest so I’m just hoping I’ve got enough room in my cabinet to fully finish the grow. Eddy 1 has not started to stretch yet and comparing her to earlier photos of eddy 2 I think she is about a week behind. I’m assuming that means harvest for her will be later? Watered 2 l with half flower nutes, .5 ml per l cal mag and a bit of great white mycorrhizae. Day 45. Nothing done with plants. But been working on the new veg cabinet and drying cabinet. Day 46. Finished building the new veg cabinet so have put my Carolina reaper chillis in there to see what type of changes it makes to temps/humidity as it vents into the main cabinet. Took a couple lower leaves off of each plant. Also moved the LST up a node on Eddy 2 to try and bring her main cola lower to match some of the others. Watered 2 l with half flower nutes, .5 ml per l cal mag. Day 47. Nothing done Day 48. Heat from LED in veg cabinet is very high, struggling to get temps in flower cabinet below 26 c when veg light is on. thinking may need more fresh air flow that doesn’t come from veg cabinet so might put in another 4 inch hole. Did a bit of defoliation and watered with ph 6.3 water no nutes. Day 49. Added a larger circulation fan to try and combat the excess heat. Currently running between 26 and 28 degrees C which I don’t think is the end of the world but ideally would be lower.

Day 50. Lovely smells starting to come through now. Both smell like a fruit salad sweet but eddy 2 has a definite citrus smell also which eddy 1 doesn’t have. The extra heat of the bank holiday weekend doesn’t seem to have had any bad effects but temps are still set to rise for the next few days so think I will freeze a couple bottles of water to put in front of the fan/intake vents. Temps went over 28 degrees c in flower cabinet this afternoon. Watered both with 2 litres 1/2 nutes and cal mag. Day 51. Like a plonker I forgot to put the water in the freezer yesterday so have just done it, should be ready for tomorrow. Temps up to 29.1 in cabinet today. Day 52. 2 x 2 litre bottles of frozen water brought the temps down by about 2 degrees C in flower cabinet for about 4 hours, it then quickly rose to previous temps but when I finished work and put new frozen bottles in it soon lowered again. The way I see it is 5 hours at 29 degrees is a lot better than 13 hours. Watered as usual today. Day 53. Nothing done today (apart from admiring their beauty) Day 54. I’m really curious why the two plants have grown differently? Where eddy 2 is tall and slim eddy 1 is short and fat! I thought eddy 1 was behind eddy 2 by some way but although she hasn’t stretched like her sister her buds already feel a lot denser. Watered as usual. I’ve also just put my next grow in the soil to germinate. It’s an auto CBD 20.1 so will have a new diary for her soon 🌱 Day 55. Nothing done. Day 56. Noticed a fair bit of discolouration on eddy 2’s leaves today. I’ve asked a grow question so hopefully someone will be able to enlighten me to where I’ve gone wrong. Everything else seems ok, her buds are slowly fattening up. From comparing to other diaries I think I’ve got about 10 days before I start to flush. Watered 1/2 nutes as usual.

I would be tempted to alter your feed to grow 0ml/L Micro 0.7ml/L Bloom 1.4ml/L Cal Mag 0.5ml/L You prob have a few weeks left till you start flushing, your plant will be taking nutrition away from the big leaves at this stage. When they start looking bad like that I tend to remove them to allow light to lower parts. The reason I say change your feed to above is to lower N and increase P and K

Day 57. From my grow question last week I was informed the yellowing leaves on eddy 2 was probably a potassium deficiency. It was also suggested to change the feeling schedule by cutting FloraGro completely and slightly upping micro and bloom. As luck would have it it was the first time eddy 2 was ready for another watering after only 24 hours, so I have adjusted her feed like this, 0.8 ml/l micro 1.5 ml/l bloom. I’m expecting I may have to go higher again as I’ve lost some K by dropping the gro. Eddy 1 not ready for more water until tomorrow but I have noticed the start of the same discolouration on her leaves so I will water her with the new schedule also. Day 58. Another day another leaf issue. Both plants have a couple of yellowing leaves down low they also have purple stems which I’m now noticing all over the place. I’ve looked at various online deficiencies pictures/posts and I can see similarities in all of them to my plant, it’s got me soooo confused 🤯. Just want them to hold it together for the next 3ish weeks before I start to flush. I’m going to keep the gro nutes going for eddy 1 and just up the micro and bloom as I have for eddy 2. That will hopefully give me some comparisons if the problems persist/stop. Day 59. Took a few pics of the foliage, so if anyone has any advice on what might be going wrong I will be happy to hear it. PH of water and nutes going in is always between 6.2-6.5, PH of run off is 6.7-7 so something is slightly off there 🤷‍♂️🏻 Watered both with amended nutes. Day 60. Nothing done. Day 61. Watered and nutes. Day 62. Nothing done. Day 63. Watered and nutes. Put a couple frozen bottles of water in with them to help keep temps down in hot weather.

Day 64. Oh boy is that amber trichs I see? To be honest I didn’t even notice them go cloudy but now I’ve looked a bit harder I can definitely see the difference between clear, milky and amber. It is only the very top of the main cola that has any amber at the minute, so I’m thinking 3-4 more days before starting a 7-14 day flush?? Watered and nutes. Day 65. Nothing done. Day 66. Watered and nutes. Day 67. Nothing done Day 68. Watered and nutes. Day 69. Nothing done. Day 70. Eddy 2’s leaves are really starting to yellow so I’ve decided today is her last feed before flushing. To be honest I’m not a weed smoker (up until now) I am just looking for something to help with anxiety and depression which I’ve been dealing with for 20+ years. So I don’t actually know if I like a body or head high. as I have two plants I’m going to try and get 1 with mostly milky trichs and the other with milky/amber that way I will know what to go for next time. Eddy 1 seems in better shape to go the long haul. I’m hoping about two weeks difference between the two. Watered and nutes.

Day 71. Watered both plants today. Eddy 1 with her normal nutes and eddy 2 started her flush with 3 litres of ph 6.4 tap water. Day 72. Nothing done. Day 73. Shit!!! Had a power cut during the night. Woke up this morning and around my garage absolutely reeked of weed as the extraction had stopped. Hope none of my neighbours were up and about early! I moved the plants into the house as I could control the smell better in there, while waiting for the power to come back on. I put them near a window but it was indirect light and it was a very overcast day. Unfortunately I had to go to work so they have been like that all day. Everything back working when I got home so all back in their cabinet. Hopefully the lack of light for 10-12 hours hasn’t damaged them but this being my first time I really don’t know what to expect. Watered. Day 74. Nothing done Day 75. Day 4 of eddy 2’s flush and she’s really yellowing. 6.2Ph water only is going in and 7.3ph is coming out the other end. I think I should have gone higher than 1/2 recommended nutes at some point during flower. Eddy 1 also seems to be doing better as I didn’t cut out the grow nutes and I read that an N deficiency will raise soil ph??? So I think that’s probably what happened to eddy 2. Both watered. Day 76. Nothing done Day 77. Watered both and nutes for eddy 1.

So today’s the day I did my first weed harvest. Never thought I could feel such emotions over a plant but I’ve spent a lot of time with her over the last few months. Hopefully I’ve done her proud. I planned on doing a dry trim so I took off all the bigger fan leaves to start. I noticed a lot of the fan leaves had some trichs around the base so I kept these. I don’t know if you would class them as sugar leaves but I am going to try and make some tea from them. In my drying cabinet the average rh% is about 75 so I’m running a small dehumidifier which is bringing it down to about 65% which I think is a bit above the ideal. It’s been hot today and temp in cabinet is around 25 degrees C but due to be cooler from tomorrow. Anyway I’m off for a cup of tea, I will update with effects and dry weights over the next few days. Update** So eddy 2 has been drying for 8 days, and she’s now trimmed and in jars. To be honest I found her a pain in the ass to trim there was a lot of long spindly buds (I would say airy) so the trim pile is pretty big with a mix of sugar leaves and airy buds. It’s not a problem as I’m definitely going to make some edibles so it’s all good for that. I’m still really pleased with the amount I got off of her and if her sister produces the same I will be over the moon! Eddy 2 weights (harvest day 82) Wet - 623g Dry Buds - bang on 100g Dry trim - 51g Eddy 1 weights (harvested day 97) Wet - 496g Smoke Report; Full disclosure I haven’t smoked weed for 20 years and even when I did it was only now and again at parties. I also don’t smoke. I’ve had anxiety and depression since I was a kid and I’ve been on all sorts of pills to try and help it. After doing some research on CBD and THC I thought I would give it a go! I’m also looking to cut down my alcohol intake and I’m really hoping this is a new way to relax and get that buzz on a Friday/Saturday night. I don’t want to smoke it so I’m going to get a dry herb vape I’m just waiting for it to be delivered. So here goes: The tea was a bust! Well unless you like lemony butter water. I don’t think there was anywhere near enough of the good stuff as I didn’t feel a thing. Still no vape so I bought a cheap bong. FML I think I coughed up a lung 😂😂 definitely got a buzz but I couldn’t enjoy it as my fucking throat was on fire for hours! STILL no vape so I made one. And that’s more like it. Tasty cool vapour and a nice relaxing buzz after. I didn’t have too much (about 3 hits) as I know I’m a lightweight. For the first 30 minutes or so I was light headed and happy (like after your first couple beers after a long day). Then I felt my body physically relaxing and I just chilled on the sofa for a couple hours watching tv. I went straight to sleep when I got to bed (which never happens) and I had a great nights sleep. Only downside was a headache in the morning but could put that down to many things and it was gone after a coffee
