Second attempt at RQS Royal Dwarf. The first attempt germinated weirdly and never really sprouted properly, so I’m assuming bad first seed. She’s in a tent with a freebie Blue Toof from Mephisto (see other diary)
She is growing super slow growing in this phase. I don’t think there is enough humidity in the tent so I improvised a humidifier from a jar of water with a towel sitting in it. She is bigger than her Mephisto Blue Toof sister and seems to be growing “faster”. I’m surprised because my first attempt aborted itself in the germination phase, so I was worried it wouldn’t get this far. I sanded the seed down with a match striker before germinating! Added a super small dose of nutrient to watering and I’m watering daily just a little.
Third week is going a lot faster than the previous two weeks. She’s looking good, growing much wider than her sister who is leggier. Since taking these pictures she’s added some more growth up top. Looking forward to see what happens when she hits the hempy res at the bottom.
She’s getting bigger and bigger just like her sister. I think the roots have hit the resovoir in the bottom of the buckets and are getting bigger. I think flowering is around the corner any day now.
Leaves are starting to yellow up a bit and taco on newer growth. I read it's cal-mag and PH issues (PH was at 5.5) I've added cal-mag, flushed and fixed the PH, just wait it out? I mix in gal batches of nutes, should I change that as well?
She’s starting to stretch her legs finally within the first week of flower. I missed my Sunday post because I was out of town. My SO accidentally watered on the leaves so those spots got a little burned. I did some light trimming and leaf tucking to get light to the lower nodes. Humidity needs to get put in the proper place and having a jar with a wet rag in front of the fan isn’t cutting it. I may put in a small humidifier.
She Is shooting up! That sativa stretch is kicking in a little bit, so I did some of the ole twist and pinch near the top. Lots of pistils, but no bud yet. Added a carbohydrate source (bud candy)for the bacteria to keep things going. Growing cannabis has actually taught me a lot about growing food, so I’ve got my raised bed started outside (a bit late in the season, but worth trying). No tricromes yet. She’ll probably finish after her sister, which sucks for timing.
Did some HST last week and bent the main stem a bit and she’s rewarded me with some pretty great side growth! She’s tossing pistils up like crazy, but no trichs yet.
Haven't had much time to journal my grow, so no updates for a while, but this plant won't stop growing new buds at all. Trichs are clear with maybe 2% cloudy. I know breeder's recs are not accurate, but she should of finished 12 days ago. Just wait it out?
@67336b Hi there! Well there's not much to do but wait, and take a close look everyday. Breeder's schedule are made for the perfect environment with unreasonable amounts of lights 😂In my setup I always need to add 1 to 3 weeks for the babies to finish flowering properly. Patience is the key! Keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊
Yeah, just wait it out until you know she's ready. Breeder timeframes are never accurate in my experience, at least not in the real world. Good luck! 👍
good luck with your grow. Keep the nutes down to a very minimum. those autoflowers don't like feeding the first weeks. the humidity could be the problem. Happy growing bro!
@67336b Indeed, they seem to grow slowly. Just wait to see what happens since you've already fixed a lot of things. This doesn't look like a cal-mag deficiency to me but could be a heat-stress / light-burn sign. I'll be around, keep us up-to-date, and good luck with these babies!
@Stick, I think ultimately the slow growth on both plants is coming from the fact that I was full of hubris and I used a Lowes hempy bucket for an autoflower instead of a more appropriately sized bucket for hempy. This is my first grow that my dog didn't eat so at least I'm learning :)
