Saturday, May 15:
Planted seedling 1/2” deep in FFOF 5 gallon bucket. Hand sprinkled tap water over the site to control watering.
Monday, May 17:
Seedling broke soil. Turned intake fan on and lowered light to 24”. Two waterings daily (morning/night). Turned on small fan to lowest setting for circulation. Tent temperature is about 75F and humidity is 41%.
Tuesday, May 18:
Seedling looked like it needed more light. Lowered light to 22” (top of soil to light distance).
Wednesday, May 19: No new updates. Fixed my tent so that the light raises correctly to give me more room. Will use intake fan as needed to remove stale air but I think it’s overkill to keep it running at this stage. Continue to water twice a day and try not to kill it.
Thursday, May 20: Still alive. Moved the light 18” to see how she responds. I don’t have a light meter so I’m looking for the most optimal position. I’ll monitor the heat and adjust accordingly.
Tuesday, May 25: I named her Betsy and she’s still alive. Moved light to 20”.
Wednesday, May 26: Watering in the morning using a 500ml water bottle. Applying only 250ml of tap water. Saw leaves were slightly curling upward on the edges. Moved light to 21”. Temps are 84F / 49% humidity
Thursday, May 27: Betsy is doing really well. I noticed that the FFOF is drying out pretty nicely as I have to water her on most mornings.
I use a stick to check the soil moisture. I did drill a bunch of holes in the 5 galling bucket. Today I gave her 250ml of tap. She responded very well. 82F / 46%
Friday, May 28: She’s growing bigger. She’s seems to soak up the 250 ml really well. I may start 500 ml the next watering. I need a proper watering can.
Sunday, May 30: She’s big. I purposely didn’t water her for 24 hours to make sure I wasn’t overwatering. Watered her this morning with 500ml of tap. I saw run off so I changed out the tray for a fresh one. I loosely hooked her at the bottom of her stem in hopes of doing some aLST on her but I also don’t want to jack her up. She can grow into the hook and maybe next week I’ll try to bend her some. She’s still to little.
Using tap water.
1st week down and so far so good. I’ve been playing with the light distance and she seems to like it at 18”. I’m watering when I see the soil dry out but I’m also scared to overwater so I do it sparsely. Mostly hand sprinkling tap water around her. Nothing special. I did manage to fix my tent by adjusting the filter so that I have more room which is cool. I also picked up the volcano hybrid. That whip attachment is absolutely bonkers.
Good call on the additional watch to germ faster... Germing in cold weather can be a biiii**ch and half!
Sending the best of vibes to you, your plant/s, and your mutual growth together! Good luck! 🌱
@JamMAKEcan, thank you I think so too. Although the trichomes are some are clear, some mostly cloudy, and few amber. I read for sativas, it is best to harvest when 30% amber 70% clear. So I will wait a few then I plan to put her in the dark for 24 hrs before the big day.
