Soaked seed overnight in a cup of water for 8 hours. Then removed seed and placed into damp paper towel and placed into plastic container. Put into covered box and placed in dark place.

Week 1. Germination

Waking up to chilly mornings. Ended up wrapping my germination container in a towel, placed in a shoebox and put on top of a hot water heater. It did the trick. Placed her root down 1/2 inch deep in a 5 gal. bucket w/ drainage holes filled with FFOF. Sprinkled some water on top to dampen the soil. I see that my grow space has lost space due to the carbon filter and intake fan. I hope it doesn’t pose a problem later. May have to try and LST if she she wants to get crazy (I do hope she does). I also have a net for SOG. 🤞🏽👊🏽🎄

Saturday, May 15: Planted seedling 1/2” deep in FFOF 5 gallon bucket. Hand sprinkled tap water over the site to control watering. Monday, May 17: Seedling broke soil. Turned intake fan on and lowered light to 24”. Two waterings daily (morning/night). Turned on small fan to lowest setting for circulation. Tent temperature is about 75F and humidity is 41%. Tuesday, May 18: Seedling looked like it needed more light. Lowered light to 22” (top of soil to light distance). Wednesday, May 19: No new updates. Fixed my tent so that the light raises correctly to give me more room. Will use intake fan as needed to remove stale air but I think it’s overkill to keep it running at this stage. Continue to water twice a day and try not to kill it. Thursday, May 20: Still alive. Moved the light 18” to see how she responds. I don’t have a light meter so I’m looking for the most optimal position. I’ll monitor the heat and adjust accordingly. Tuesday, May 25: I named her Betsy and she’s still alive. Moved light to 20”. Wednesday, May 26: Watering in the morning using a 500ml water bottle. Applying only 250ml of tap water. Saw leaves were slightly curling upward on the edges. Moved light to 21”. Temps are 84F / 49% humidity Thursday, May 27: Betsy is doing really well. I noticed that the FFOF is drying out pretty nicely as I have to water her on most mornings. I use a stick to check the soil moisture. I did drill a bunch of holes in the 5 galling bucket. Today I gave her 250ml of tap. She responded very well. 82F / 46% Friday, May 28: She’s growing bigger. She’s seems to soak up the 250 ml really well. I may start 500 ml the next watering. I need a proper watering can. Sunday, May 30: She’s big. I purposely didn’t water her for 24 hours to make sure I wasn’t overwatering. Watered her this morning with 500ml of tap. I saw run off so I changed out the tray for a fresh one. I loosely hooked her at the bottom of her stem in hopes of doing some aLST on her but I also don’t want to jack her up. She can grow into the hook and maybe next week I’ll try to bend her some. She’s still to little. Using tap water.

Tuesday, June 01: Betsy is thriving. She’s 4” tall and 5” wide, working on her third node. I gave her water this morning (500ml) and she seemed to like it. I saw run off in her tray and replaced it. Moved the light down so that its 17” away from the top of the plant. Will monitor and adjust as necessary. *checked on her and her new growth leaf edges are slightly curling upward. Moved the light back up to 18”. *leaves look better. But I still moved the light up to 20”. Wednesday, June 02: Started some LST on her today. I wasn’t sure if she was too little but I also didn’t want to wait too long before the stems harden. I secured her base and have the top bent over with some garden ties. I thought about watering her, but the pot still has moisture. She’s doing pretty good. I’ll watch how she responds. The tent has a slight smell in it. Thursday, June 03: She’s responding really well to the LST. As she stretches out a little more, I like to keep opening her up little by little by moving the bigger fan leaves out to expose her main stem more. I tug them to the side with the garden wire. I wasn’t a fan of the wire in the beginning but I can see now how they can be pretty handy. Already seeing lots of new growth going for the light. The pot seem pretty moist so I skipped watering today. Will definitely water tomorrow. I’ve also got the fan blowing on her to try and harden that bend in the stem. Friday, June 03: Tied her down more and gave her some water (500ml). Emptied and replaced the run off tray. So far so good. Sometimes I forget her name. But I don’t think she cares.

Tuesday, June 08: Betsy is doing well. She’s starting to bush out and become unruly. I accidentally snapped a fan leaf when trying to pin her down. I watered her really good as I now have a pump sprayer to get to her base stem more easily. She responded really well to the watering and I can see her leaves going for the light. Fox Farm nutrients have arrived and am researching the best way to apply. I also ordered a jug of Cal-Mag. She looks good so I’ll hold off until she tells me different. Wednesday, June 09: She’s doing really well. I’ve been able to monitor her which is very fortunate. Seems like I’m always tucking a leaf or pulling some aside almost every 2 to 3 hours or so. So far so good. Thursday, June 10: Gave her a quart of tap water. Changed the run off tray. She’s good. Wednesday, June 16: Starting to see yellow tips on the leaves. Gave her a quart of water with .05 ml of cal mag. Raised light from 19” to 20”. She’s growing beautifully. Friday, June 18: She is stretching. The cal mag did her good. She responded very well and is growing fast. I unraveled her from the garden wire to let her loose and grow. Saturday, June 19: She looks good. Gave her another quart of .05 ml cal mag. Still pulling and tucking leaves. See lots of new sights popping up. She’s still alive.

Sunday, June 20: Started to defoliate to open her up. She’s getting bushy and I’d like to increase air circulation. Rip and stripping leaves. Monday, June 21: More light defoliation. Gave her a quart of plain tap water. Tuesday, June 22: I see white pistils forming. She’s going into flower 🌸. She’s growing. Raised light to 18” from top of plant. Wednesday, June 23: Gave her big bloom and tiger bloom this morning. .05 ml / 1 qt of tiger bloom 1 ml / 1 qt of big bloom = poured qt into a 1/2 gallon jug and filled with tap to dilute. Slight leaf curl on the edges of new growth. Raised the light to 19” from the top of the plant. Used the garden wire to loosely tie her to the the bucket to keep her low. I also did the same for some of the side branches. She’s starting to stretch. I also noticed she’s not as bendy. Going to quit manipulating her leaves to get light into her and just let her grow. Friday, June 25: Gave her big bloom and tiger bloom this morning. .05 ml / 1 qt of tiger bloom 1 ml / 1 qt of big bloom = poured qt into a 1/2 gallon jug and filled with tap to dilute. Sunday, June 27: Fed her 1/2 gallon of tap. Monday, June 28: She’s droopy today. The 1/2 gallon may have been too much. Opened the tent to get more air in it to help dry out the pot.

What a great two months and a great first grow experience. I learned a lot and didn’t kill her - though I almost did a couple of times. I plan to chop her this weekend. Her trichomes are cloudy, but I still see a few clear but also a few amber. She really is smelly. I plan to turn the light off tomorrow to keep in the dark for 24 hours and chop her down on Friday. Happy harvest.

She’s still alive! But I feel this is her final week. I just put her in the dark. I’ll leave her there for three days and then harvest. Despite a few white pistils sticking out her trichomes are super milky and am just waiting for a few amber to appear. Thank you all for your support on a fun grow!

I chopped her down today. I hung her whole as opposed to separating the branches. She wasn’t too big so it was doable. Thanks for the support on my first grow. Here’s to many more! 🍾🥂 ——— **8/13: I pulled 22 grams off the gorilla glue! Woohoo! I’m so excited. I haven’t tried it yet but the buds are sticky and dank. The buds came out a little airy but I think it was due to my lack of skill and not the light. I think I can pull some tight nugs if I can dial in my grow. But I do have the sp3000 just in case. Thanks everyone and happy harvest!! Let’s grow some more!!

1st week down and so far so good. I’ve been playing with the light distance and she seems to like it at 18”. I’m watering when I see the soil dry out but I’m also scared to overwater so I do it sparsely. Mostly hand sprinkling tap water around her. Nothing special. I did manage to fix my tent by adjusting the filter so that I have more room which is cool. I also picked up the volcano hybrid. That whip attachment is absolutely bonkers.

@JamMAKEcan, thank you I think so too. Although the trichomes are some are clear, some mostly cloudy, and few amber. I read for sativas, it is best to harvest when 30% amber 70% clear. So I will wait a few then I plan to put her in the dark for 24 hrs before the big day.
