Growing this was pretty hard as it was my very first grow. I had seed issues, only 50% success rate with popping the seeds as I ended up with 3 out of 6 popping (2 grew upside down, lol). Had heat issues. Let rockwool run dry for a day. Let basin run dry for a day. Had an unmanageable jungle burning my buds on the cfl light. Etc. But it was a lot of fun, very challenging and I'm doing it again!
Ok. So this was a really great experience for me. It's become a hobby. I want to thank all those that participated in my grow. The comments, answers to my questions, and suggestions really made a big difference! I couldn't have done this without you. I started with 3 plants and only one made it. (I know better to just grow one at a time now).
Trimming is not fun. It took forever. Actually it was fun for the first two hours, lol. So, you might notice that the buds look trimmed differently. This is on purpose. I wanted to try some of the different techniques I've read about. Trimming really short and tight, leaving more leaves on the buds, and finally just putting up 2 or 3 branches with minimal trimming. I am also drying my popcorn in a paper bag.
This was a great accomplishment for me. I have always wanted to grow my own plant, for recreational enjoyment as well as medicinal use.
Almost forgot to mention that I found scattered amber tricomes among all my milky ones, so that's why I picked today to harvest.
Smoke report: it was incredibly smooth and I really like this strain. No couch lock. Kinda got me introspective and really relaxed.
Any idea about how to handle the crowding at top? Should I try to trim back or just leave it alone? Seems like the leaves are burning, but keeping flowers off the light.
Hi @BeefWellingtons! I guess you're not able to increase the light distance? You could try to defoliate, by removing a lot of leaves, then use LST to prevent buds from touching the light. Or you can try to supercrop, by pinching and "breaking" down the main stems. Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing!
This looks really good for a first grow, well done! ππ» In regards to the micro grow box, I would definitely recommend a redesign for the future if possible to add a little more height to work with as it looks like itβs been a tight grow for you, but of course it worked for you! π enjoy the rewards, well deserved π±ππ»
@BeefWellingtons,Yeah if you can sell it then sell it, but if not then you can always use for veg. I would definitely recommend a tent, you can get some pretty compact ones that donβt take up loads of room. They provide a lot more room to work with and better air circulation, you can get a good tent on amazon for a great price - I would recommend something like Finether 60x60x140 grow tent, I have 3 ladies in that tent and could fit another one easy. I could fit more if I used smaller pots ππ±
@ItsLegalInMyHouse, thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately I purchased a superbox (instead of a tent), and now I'm stuck with it. It's 18" x 24" x 30". I think I'm going to try to sell it and replace with a tent at some point, or just keep it to veg.
@MUDBUG, I added some hydroguard yesterday. I have been keeping frozen bottles in the basin. Just adding water now, 7 day flush. If you are asking about nutes I added, it's because I have another 4 week old plant in there showing signs of nutrient deficiency and I don't want to lose her. What are you asking about? What am I doing wrong?
@criticalkushweed, you are probably right. I actually just got some in the mail but I'm flushing the basin for harvest this weekend and I'm afraid to add anything. Even the hydroguard bottles says don't add the last week. I got that and silica and calmag I will be adding to cleaned basin on Sunday, along with 1/3 nutes (after harvest).

@Stick, I did try to LST, however I broke off one of my big limbs and called it quits. I can move them slightly, but they just pop back. I am cutting one down this weekend so after that I will be able to get deeper into the plant and defoliate a bit to help the larger, younger plant in its last 2 weeks.
Canopy control is key. The lower the better. You're going to have to clean that up in order to get some good airflow too. Once those buds start to ripen they need good fresh air.
@Excalibur, well, I tried. However it's very humid here and so they didnt get the proper drying I would have liked to have given them, and are actually still curing (what's left after friends got some). Smelled like hay, but now smells more like buds.
@Sora85, ok I smoked it. It was probably the smoothest bud I have ever in my life smoked. Tastes earthy and kinda minty. I only had 2 bong hits and that was it. No couch lock. Nice energetic high. I love how smooth it is compared to everything else I have smoked.
Well it looks like the smaller plant is stunted and not really getting any larger at this point, so I thought if I harvest her I will have more room for the crazy large one that is burning itself on my light now. I just don't have the space for 2 and the small one doesn't seem to be getting much bigger. they are supposed to go for 8 1/2 weeks. both are past that now.
