All 8 germinated and sprouted fine. Had to replant 1 seed to replace a dwarf. So, 9 for 9? Dwarf was trashed, obviously.
Had no intentions of doing early vegetative phase, but i got a mutant that isn't a runt, too. A tri-leaf mutation. Based on what i see today, i'd guess it will grow out of it, but i didn't get scope out and still too tiny for my eyes to resolve clearly. I'll keep showing its development unless it gets mundane. After that, probably sticking to updates containing flower development.
Currently, these are under a Viparspectra XS1500 that was gifted to me for the autoflower diary. It is also maintaining 2 small clones of first run of GS/PG. I'll only be able to select from 5-6 seeds each, but hoping i get a tastier PG this go. Definitely have 1 that's plenty good enough all around in the first GS. If anyone follows, you know i pissed away $120 worth of seeds around the new year.. no i'm not bitter.. <grumbles under breath>
By the time these move to the 3x3 and 4x4 tents, should have irrigation and drainage system setup. This starts the clock to get that shit done, or i screw myself.. which is what opposable thumbs are for not gardening.
Will be using some new 650w lights in the 4x4. Didn't go the DIY route. Likely got slightly lower bin diodes, but there are a figurative shit-ton of them. So, i expect the same 2.8-2.9 umol/J efficacy. Hope they work well. They are 3500CCT white diodes plus whatever impact the red diodes have on that.. 3200-3300ish? This is great for vege but not as optimal for bloom. Hopefully, the difference while statistically significant, is not a significant impact on overall quality.
I'll have an excellent side by side of 4 plants in each tent in similar conditions. The 3x3 will be using my DIY 3000k + 660nm strips. The 4x4 will have the alibaba lights that cost 1/3rd the price.
They got the dimensions you want in a bar-style frame. Nearly the entire width end-to-end on a strip, and on other axis, a few more inches due to how light radiates from the geometry of the design. Unfortunately, it does not have a good dimmer... some static options 60-80-100 etc. No big deal, as at this point in my development i would rather pay a little extra, raise them a bit higher, accept some extra absorption into wall (loss of efficacy from broad perspective, not at diode) for the added benefit of increased light coming from the side and other less common angles as before - i.e. better penetration.
So, I'll put 2 of each strain in each tent, at least intiially. Any differences can be compared per strain for a bit more accurate picture. This is by no means an 'experiment'. My only hope is that the difference is small enough i don't notice much, if at all.
@@NobodysBuds, maybe you want to update mines after such draft ? ;))) No itchy fingers to sort out idiot with too many diaries ? ;))))
You'll love it !!! I have my own mini Auschwitz, just no gas chamber like at yours ;))) but I keep them ready and overcrowded ;))))
Never had i any fluffy with my 3000K, but got it in last run, looked more like outdoors ... High temps and size of plant was only differences ... will run cooler them, 27-30 was sh$t for me, 25-27 always worked fine, but in veg higher temps did magic ..
@@NobodysBuds, i have 3 old 3000k lm301b , 3k k and new lm301h with far reds, its i DIY, but manufacturer written on everything and i see bin, kelvins, diod type and etc written. From all my grow buys, those were the best investment ;)))
Still update air, pots, nutes , etc ... but lights work for 2.5 years and can't see any issue with them, if they will run 5 years, i will be over my preplanned duration.
Only because they run so nice i refused couple free lights offered here.
Hope your buy will be at least 2x better ! ;)
