Platinum Gelato:
Seeing some nice trichome development. Have a little bug issue. You can see 'honeydew' spots on leaves. thirps? aphids? whatever... working on killing them. Mixed up some pyrethrin to kill on contact. Reservoir has Bti dunks in rez to kill larvea. Applied Neem before the buds showed. Unfortunately, it is the 'clarified' neem oil which means it is stripped of the most important and only active ingredient, but still has some anti-insect properties, nonetheless. A mistake i won't make in future. Sick of companies misrepresenting products and engaging in shady AF behaviours (this being a minor one, but long history of worse things). We need some worldwide consumer and labor unions... strip companies of their leverage. They should be a service to humanity and not oligarchs/overlords. a profit margin is a horrible motivational structure that only results in bottlenecks for what amounts to monopoly money.
Garlic Storm:
Similar bug issue. Same measures taken as in the plat gelato tent. I only would find "1" bug on any leaf, but there were more based on state of lower canopy in each tent -- the PG tent was worse. The extr axillary branching on GS is strange compared to firt run, and i like it. Seems i kickced the wpm issue in this tent. The PG was more resistant... Still think there's a turd in this punchbowl.. the back left is suspect, but lately has been looking clean. I think that's the one that originates the problem each time it comes back. Even in vege are, where it spread from was typically around this plant.
Overall, ....
much happier than i was a few weeks ago. Was genuinely concerned about length of time in small cup and treatment of these plant... just ~4 weeks later they are rocking. Nip that lil insect problem in the but and all is good. Think i need to increae nutrients given. With a warmer environment and better control of RH%, I think i can increase concentrtions. Will do so slowly, of course. went from 3.3g/gal part A to 3.4g/gal, for example. Also bumps cal-nitrte back to 2grams per gallon.
Rez.... So, i was filling to a known point, then adding another 20gallons with hose. This was untenable - involved hauling 5-gallon buckets filled with known volume until i got to a known/measured refill line. Bought a cheap $20 flow meter off amazon and it's fucking great. So much easier to refill rez and know exactly how many gallons were put back in.
The ones that state a 5% error are plenty good enougg for this endeavour. Whatever error there is, it'll become familiar in no time. Heck if -5%, that may take care of increasing nute concentration all by itself.
Except for the suckling of pests, the canopy is strong. Rate of degradation is receding, so i think it'll be okay. Singed a few stigmat, but as long as it doesn't pop nanners i don't give a fuck about a few aesthetic flaws.
@@NobodysBuds, maybe you want to update mines after such draft ? ;))) No itchy fingers to sort out idiot with too many diaries ? ;))))
You'll love it !!! I have my own mini Auschwitz, just no gas chamber like at yours ;))) but I keep them ready and overcrowded ;))))
Never had i any fluffy with my 3000K, but got it in last run, looked more like outdoors ... High temps and size of plant was only differences ... will run cooler them, 27-30 was sh$t for me, 25-27 always worked fine, but in veg higher temps did magic ..
@@NobodysBuds, i have 3 old 3000k lm301b , 3k k and new lm301h with far reds, its i DIY, but manufacturer written on everything and i see bin, kelvins, diod type and etc written. From all my grow buys, those were the best investment ;)))
Still update air, pots, nutes , etc ... but lights work for 2.5 years and can't see any issue with them, if they will run 5 years, i will be over my preplanned duration.
Only because they run so nice i refused couple free lights offered here.
Hope your buy will be at least 2x better ! ;)
