I attended NECANN (New England Cannabis Convention) in Burlington, VT this weekend - Great event!! While I was there I purchased these two Baox hemp clones. The baox strain is supposed to have very high CBD content with very low THC (less than 0.3%). I have obtained a hemp farming license from the state department of agriculture. I will be expanding my grow room setup over the next few weeks and adding a separate flowering tent for photo period plants, including these hemp plants. I am hoping to learn a lot about CBD here. My family has been using a variety of CBD products recently and enjoying the results. Hopefully I will be able to make some of these products on my own in the future. 👍
Baox got a transplant this week. Gave them just a little Recharge this week, I'll be increasing the dosage next week. So far they are both looking like happy and healthy little girls. 👍
Baox coming along nicely after the transplant to a bigger pot. I'm planning on moving these girls outside in the next week or so, then I expect them to take off!!! 👍
Boax plants coning along strong. Grew about 2 inches this week. One plant is 19 inches, the other is 17 inches, I averaged the height as 18 inches for this weeks update. I'm going to take cuttings for clones from these girls soon. If you check the pics you should see that the taller of the 2 plants has a "Y" where the main stem split for some reason. I'm thinking cutting at the bottom of the Y would give me a good cutting/clone. But I'm open to any other advice/input on taking cuttings and cloning. I've done it once before successfully, but I'm no expert. Thanks all!

Hey dude, sure you wouldn’t have a problem cloning but I think under the V may be a bit too big... as you need to cut 45• at the next branch below the V. Could work, you would be better using that V as 2 clones and cutting just above the V lots of Hormones already present in that section due to the prior topping! Good luck✌️🏻
Baox plants got topped last week for clone cuttings, so they lost a few inches. I got 5 clones out of the 2 plants. I probably could have cut more, but lets see how these first few turn out first. These girls seem fine since the cuttings.

Unfortunately I was in a car accident last week. I shattered my heal bone (calcaneus), fractured my face and tore open the side of my face around my eye. I’ve had a few surgeries to put things back in place and I’m feeling better each day.
However, my injuries prevent me from caring for my plants personally. One of my best friends (who is also a grower) has been helping with feeding the girls and my wife has been pitching in with waterings also. All of my plants are still doing well, but its too much to ask for them to take pics and videos as I would normally do to update my diaries.
I’ll be off my feet for at least 2 months, but I do plan on updating my diaries as I can. Which will probably be mostly harvest reports. I’ll miss taking care of my plants and doing more GD updates for now, but I’ll be back!!!
OK, its not exactly week 7, but I've lost track of how many weeks I missed due to the accident. I'm finally able to hobble out to the outdoor garden and get some pics to update the diary. I'm adding a 3rd plant because all but one clone died, so I'm including that surviving clone here.
I didn't get these girls outside as early in the summer as I wanted. They didn't get outside until late July. So they are much smaller than I was hoping for. But they are starting to show bud sites. I think I'll still have a decent enough harvest to make a bunch of CBD capsules.
You can see in the pics we cleaned up a bunch of weeds from the garden area and reorganized the plants. Looks much nicer now IMO. 😃

Baox starting to show small bud sites. And they have grown a bit since last week. I wish I was able to get these plants outside sooner, as I'm sure they would have grown larger. But I'm sure I'll still get enough hemp to make a few batches of CBD capsules. 👍
Buds are starting to really develop now. Leaves are starting to yellow also, they can tell harvest is coming up. I'm hoping they will be done by mid-October - that's typically when we get our first winter frost here in VT.
Moved these girls back inside this weekend. I started to see what looked like the start of bud rot outside. Its been cool and damp for the past couple of weeks and bud rot loves that. I cut off a couple of branches which showed signs so I would not bring any indoors (fingers crossed). I'm going to chop and dry 2 of the plants this week - once I'm sure there are not anymore signs of rot. The third plant still needs another week or two. The video shows my upcoming grows also. New diaries coming soon! 👍
Getting close to the end here. The good news is there are no new signs of bud rot, yay! I'll start chopping the first 2 down this weekend and cut down the 3rd in another week.
I plan on making CBD capsules with these girls. Any comments or advice on the best process for making capsules would be appreciated! 🙏
Cut these girls down a couple of days ago. They are hanging and drying at the moment. They look and smell really nice! I'll post the harvest report once they have finished drying. 👍
The Baox (pronounced 'box') journey has come to an end. Started indoors, moved outdoors, then back indoors again. She did suffer a little bit of mold/bud rot at the end of the summer before moving them back indoors, but not too bad. I didn't go crazy trimming these girls because they are hemp plants and I'm going to make oil and capsules with the harvest - its not for smoking. But I may smoke just a little to get a taste, they smell great! My scale broke, but I'm guesstimating about 3 oz dried. Overall, not a bad start for my first round of hemp plants. Could have been better if I was able to give them more attention over the summer, but the accident got in the way.
Looking forward to making CBD oils and capsules with the harvest. If any one has any favorite recipes or methods please let me know. These girls are sweet and sticky, they should make nice oils & capsules.

Nice easy topical and baking oil recipe.
7-10 grams of ground, dried cannabis
1 ½ cups of coconut oil
1/3 cup olive oil (optional)
1/3 cup beeswax
1 baking sheet
1 saucepan (or double boiler)
1 jar
1 saucepan (or double boiler)
1 jar
1 cheesecloth
A few drops of essential oil (your choice)
Heat, weed to 240 in over for 20mon.
Then transfer weed up to.stove pot pot and cook low and slow mixing coco with it in a pot for 29-25 minutes
Then strain through the cheese cloth, into a jar or another container and set it aside. (This can be dropped straight in mouth, baked, or cooked with) *careful of the intensity.
*that coco oil is suitable for making treats, its only once you adding the beeswax and essential oils that it turns from edible to topical.
Ive done this whole.process in a crockpot, as that generate just enough heat but not scorching hot.
If you own an instant pot pressure cooker those work good too but watch out for high heat settings, or bye bye thc. ✌️💚

I cut the Y into 2 separate cuttings, then I cut those cuttings in half creating 4 cuttings/clones in total from the Y. I only took one cutting/clone from the smaller plant. New diary is up for the clones. Check it out! 👍

@DudeGrowsWeed, hi Dude, I make a topical oil from the root systems using the simmering method (also works for canna oil from leaf/trim using the same method). This method incorporates the decarb in the cooking. Bring ~3l water to boil in a large stockpot and add ~1c coco oil (per oz material). Once melted add dried stems and roots and simmer with the lid on for 4(ish) hours. Strain through cheesecloth into a smooth sided bowl and set aside to cool. Once cooled, refrigerate overnight. Next day you'll be able to pour off the water and be left with your oil.
For CBD caps I recommend looking into RSO to activate the entourage effect. Best option here is to go to the source http://phoenixtears.ca/producing-the-oil/

Hey dude hope your'e doing good. So if you can find MCT thats a good base, otherwise coconut oil you can get a tub @ costco for like 15 bucks. Levo oil infuser is badass. Or that magical butter machine....but id get a levo you can do more cool stuff with it. If youre doing topical the beeswax binds it together i think and then add in some peppermint essential oil and bam home made cannabis Icey Hot or whatever that sports rub is called. Lol
@Experimentgreen, these are female hemp plants. Look and smell exactly like female marijuana but with 0.3% THC or less. Decarbing is the big mystery to me. Most say to do it, but they are usually taking about marijuana, not hemp. I still have time, but want to get my plan of attack figured out. Thanks again!
@DudeGrowsWeed, hey dude so from what I understand with cbd strains its not essential to decarb but it is recommended because somehow it makes more of the cbd like biologically available...i also see most people using some element of heating it and "cooking" so im assuming that heat does help, maybe just not as much as with thc. ✌️
Hey dude, was talking to a hemp farmer in Plainfield, he mentioned tons of botrytis in outdoor hemp farms this year in central/northern vt. pretty sure he runs mostly Baox. few hundred plants. Hope you have a good finish!
@DudeGrowsWeed, it wasn’t too bad. Not a fan of coconut oil however. It also has a warming effect on the body which can cause inflammation. Tested out veggie glycerin as the suspension, but I think it has some gut accelerants in it and a bit more sugar. The most effective was olive oil slow cook method.
@earlsmeds, I tried coconut oil a month or so ago with some weed and totally f'ed it all up. I was using all the wrong stuff. I'm considering buying one of those Herbal Infusors in hopes its really dialed in for good results. But would like some advice from someone who has been successful. How bad did the slow cooker method stink up the house?
@DudeGrowsWeed, Haha yeah, stormy weather in here and I have nothing to do but gardening and online chillin' 😝 No I would keep the Y since it's going to make a great structure/canopy from the first weeks! This will ask for a little more energy but if your cloning environment is good I'm confident the Y-clones will be alright!
