I gave a final dose of Recharge at the beginning of the week and ended the week with a hefty defoliation. Fungus gnats started to become an issue, but I think I’m starting to get them under control. They have also developed what I assume is some kind of cal-mag deficiency. I suspect this came about when I gave my first couple doses of Recharge because I didn’t realize I was supposed to pH my water BEFORE adding Recharge. Consequently, the soil got drenched with over a gallon of highly acidic water a couple times.
I have also noted that the plants aren’t nearly as fragrant as the previous two weeks and I expected the exact opposite. Hopefully things will start to turn around, but they still seem to be happy and healthy other than the previously stated issues.
Originally, I thought I had one smaller plant because I had stunted it as a seedling(mild light burn and knocked it over while watering), but it’s becoming more apparent that these are two different phenos. The smaller plant has a noticeably more indica-like structure with denser buds and a bright tropical fruit scent. The larger plant has lighter colored fan leaves and smells like dank citrus and bad breath. 😆
@PurpleWorship,
Thank you! I was probably a little too handsy with them at first as I’m sure most first timers are. I learned my lesson after I snapped the top. 😆
Hey man, amazing grow! I've just started my first ever grow with green crack, do you have any advice? Was LST and defoliation worth it? I read not to do LST on autos. Thanks!
@alexgrowsweed,
Thanks dude! They were super leafy, so defoliation was absolutely necessary. Trimming was a nightmare too. I think they need plenty of room to grow, so if space is an issue, LST is a must. Neither plant seemed to be negatively affected by either technique and I think it absolutely increased my yield.
