This week the girls are adjusting to the much hotter Ocean Forrest soil they were transplanted into. Ex 1 seems to have had some issues adjusting to the higher strength and I'm seeing some burning on the lower fan leaves. Thankfully she pushed through it and is just a tad behind Ex 2 in terms of size. Ex 2 showed the smallest bit of burn immediately after the transplant but wasn't affected nearly as much as Ex 1. This is the first time I've had a strain that was really unhappy to move into Ocean Forrest. I topped both by pinching off the top growth a few days ago, and we can see the plants have adjusted their growth to focus on those two new tops on both plants and they are moving fast! I will let these new tops get a tad longer and then we will start on some low-stress training by using stakes to hold those tips down and make the plants grow out rather than up. This will let the light in to those other growth tips that are normally shaded and allow the plant to really bush up rather than grow tall. This is exactly what I want in order to get this plant ready for Scrog in a week or two.
Hey! Good luck with your grow!
I'm a brand-new first-time grower using the exact same lights as you (XS2000). I'm wondering if you could answer a few questions for me?
1. Do you follow the XS2000 manual for light intensity % and light distance?
2. When the seeds have germinated and are sown into their first soil, what % intensity and distance do you keep them?
3. When the seeds have sprouted and are seedlings, what distance do you keep them and at what light intensity %?
4. When do you increase light intensity/distance?
Thank you so much!
@RndmGrwr,
I didn't use the xs2000 for the first two weeks because it was still in the tent with some girls who were finishing their flower cycle. I just swapped the VA600 out for the xs2000 a few days ago, and the girls seem to have really taken a liking. Currently, I have the xs2000 sitting about 15" above them and is set to 70% strength. That will be moving up to 100% in the next few days. When the seeds were first sprouting, I kept the va600 light 18-20" above and had the light on 60% while they adjusted. As far as light distance, you want to keep that as short as possible while not having any heat issues. I will drop the xs2000 down to 12" once I have reached 100% power and keep an eye out for any bleaching or burning on the leaves.
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! Please say hello if you visit my page!
