Haven't updated in some time. I have taken pics along the way however and intend to update previous weeks. Been concentrating on a solid regimen and method that suits the plants best for the environment I've created. There was a solid flush b/f transplant to 3 gal. smart pots. pH was out of wack a bit and I think the girls were letting me know it. I'm still not quite clear why (I've read that high ph means low food levels, and vice versa, but i don't feel confident that that is correct) but every time I would flush w/ low pH water, runoff pH levels would increase. Weird. Gave nothing next day and they were perky. Then transplanted to 3 gal. (originally was going to make 5 gal. their final destination, but I think 3 gal. might be since I've used up most of my medium. We'll see where they are b/f the flip). Levels are perfect again. Gave a significant pruning during transplant. Keeping them nice and low w/ LST, (can't believe I am saying this) HST, mainlining in areas (which does go against some of the excellent advice I have received. I really do keep all of it in mind constantly and weigh my next steps against this advice. Thank you so much for your time. Gotta take the occasional risk though), and mini scrogs I made from bamboo skewers. The GC seems to get pretty bushy. Should have been named Ono OG or simply Demi Moore. I also FIMed some areas and topped some others to note the difference. Would love to hear some feedback on what others prefer and why. Finally, cut out "root" nutrients until flower (addition of Sensizym after transplant only) and sticking to essentials and choice additives to keep ppm down. In attempting to dial in the exactly amount they need, I dilute the final mix if necessary unless it's Calmag/Revive day (once a week) which I add separately, full strength, to diluted sol. In hindsight, I would have let their stems stretch more in the first stages. But I do like what's going on. UPDATE: just topped all flowering spots to fill some holes and attempt to encourage a burst. The "outward" is in check. Some "upward" is very much in order. Would like to reach 2 ft. by wk. 8-10. Would do this vice versa next time. Too much concern about containment in young stages. Def. intro. training much later, or at the very least, be less aggro out of the gate.

I wonder if adding top dressing of worm castings to coco coir will be beneficial or defeat the purpose of a soil-less approach? Any informed advice and suggestion is welcome.

No need to make your first grow more complicated than it needs to be. I would recommend making your grow as conventional as possible. Focus on finding the correct lighting levels, creating a full canopy before switching to flower and not killing your plants by adding too many nutrients. Generally speaking, there are enough variables balancing these components, especially in an LED/coco grow, that adding another won't benefit you much if at all. Growing is fun but most of us screw up many times before we get it right so patience and astute observation is key. Good luck.

Last question was pretty noob haha...I AM pretty noob afterall. Curious what rules others go by r.e. flushing their coco. I've heard some say, as a rule, once a week. Others only when probs. appear. Also, how often do you feed between straight watering, or do you feed ev. day? Ty

If u in coco u have to feed everywatering and keep tabs of the ppm u dont have to worry about flushing coco unless you over feed her its just like hydro your ph has to stay in a coco range your plant uptake is like hydro if u watch ppms you will not have to flush till the last 3 weeks u need a 14- 21 day flush in coco but feed her every watering exp with calmag👍👍✌️✌️🍻🍻

As solo said above, best to keep it simple: regarding the flush, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Use a flush to clear out the medium when there’s a problem, otherwise feed/water as usual. Regarding nutes and feed, a good rule of thumb is to feed with nutes every other watering until you dial in perfect amounts and Required frequency (only acquired through experience). Hope it helps and reach out any time. Cheers

First grows are exciting but scary! liked and followed! I like your little skewer grids! BTW, You should be able to continue your root stuff -- it pays off... The bloom additives you're using in veg are most likely not doing any good on the other hand. I like your enthusiasm, though! You might want to look into lucas formula -- not to switch, but just to get a good idea of what feed is actually needed. I overfed for a looong time, even if you dont burn its not just a waste of nutes youre loading your medium with salts and can inhibit growth.

Looks great! I was also thinking of buying a Reverse Osmosis unit because my tap water is about 1050ppm but I'm not sure the RO would bring it down to where I'd like it to be.

Looking good so far.. some advise: BE PACIENT!!! I see you chomping at the bit to transplant/feed more/ get to the next step... This is gonna take 3 months if it's a photoperiod 3-4 weeks In the solo cup from seed 3-4 weeks veg in 1 gal 6-10 weeks flower in 3gal pot Don't rush it... wait untill your container is FULL OF ROOTS before you transplant 👍🏻 Best of luck nothing like the first Grow

I think that the perfect ph for your ladies it’s 6.5, with this ph they can assimilate all the macro and micro elements.. also temp of water it’s important, if you drink them with a water that is 21 degree Celsius you have the best ossigenation for your plants! Second thing but it’s only my opinion, the firsts three week don’t use many nutrients, you have the risk to burn them.. No stress=more profit! Third thing: in this second cycle i’ve Used a spray solution with a little bit of nitrogen concentrated at 28%, my ladies answer very well!
