Donโ€™t forget: this diary is updated daily!!! Week 3 of the flowering and I Am still excited as funk ๐Ÿค“ during the daytime the plants do not get any water so the substrate is getting dry during daytime. Day 43: I bend down some of the branches that were to close to the LED panels to avoid burned flowers. I hope this was the last time I had to do this. Day 44: New pictures, ph down (like every day). Nothing else though. Day 45: Bend down two more branches to get them away from the LED. The flowers grow fast in week 3 of the flowertime. I thought the flowers would come earlier though. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Day 46: Another two had to be bent down so I did. Although it's LED light, the flowers can "burn". They just get white and have no cannibinoids in it. They are burned and so they are worthless. Even though those white flowers look really really nice, just like an albino flower. Day 47: Cleaned the tank and made a new water-fertilizer-mix. And bought a new pump for the tank that is twice as strong as the pump before. This pump is only for the tank to keep the water in movement. Day 48: What could possibly happen in this grow. One clusterof my Kind LED is broken and the growshop I bought it from is updating its website. The plants are going well so far, but I am really pissed about the LED panel and I'm thinking about replacing the Kind with some more Sanlight S2W panels. Gosh!

Grow Questions

Is superscrogging in the beginning of the flowertime (1st week) (very) bad for the plants? They grew to high and I had no other chance to get them more away from the LED light. Iโ€˜ve had burned flower (like an albino)

No they will be fine and recover. It may slow growth by a day or so but that would be about it. Good luck on your grow!

I found one leaf that has some serious problems (Day 72 last picture - single leaf). We have to weeks to go and I do not panic. But I wanna know if this is a problem with anything or just their lifespan. Many leafes under the Kind LED feel very dry and burned but look different ๐Ÿ˜•

Hi @CloserB! Plant was overfed in the past, I can tell by looking at the burnt tips. Your room is a little bit overcrowded and your plants were not pruned enough, some parts cannot get enough light, and as you probably know, light helps in absorbing the nutrients. As a result, the lower leaves of the plant are slowly dying and the lower buds will remain small. However, I wouldn't worry too much at this stage, as mentioned by others, you're really close to the finish line, she should naturally start to fade and yellowing will spread everywhere, that's a normal thing and it will help in finding the harvest window. Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! ๐Ÿ‘Š

Congrats to the harvest

Hilkes_Herbscommented6 years ago
@Larimar, yup, that's what I meant. 440 would be awesome! Last harvest has "only" been about 190g dry. So Anything over 200 would be nice. Anything over 300 would be awesome ๐Ÿ˜€

Good Luck with the grow...looking nice. Coco Coir is the best!!
Hilkes_Herbs
Hilkes_Herbscommented7 years ago
@Norwin, it's an automatic watering system. It takes 20 minutes to give them 200ml water. Tbh I don't have a runoff but I was told before to do so. Have to think about it tonight and fix it somehow tomorrow to prevent any problems. The timer has impulse (how long should the watering take) and interval, daytime and nighttime is fully controlable. I try to simulate "normal nature" around them by changing the watering times from time to time.
Norwin
Norwincommented7 years ago
@Hilkes_Herbs, just be sure that you have at least 10%/20% runoff when you feed. I don't exceed 1.8EC for either veg or bloom. I prefer to mix of 70% coco and 30% perlite... Plants seem to like it more. I only water once a day around 15% of the total volume of the pot. Never had any trouble.

@Norwin, thanks you man! This is my first time on coco and I am really impressed yet I haven't had no bigger problems yet. Wish me luck! I will keep you updated, stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜Ž

Yo @Hilkes_Herbs - I see you're doing the CO2 - just a couple of Qs (asking for a friend ;-) ) a. Is your grow room perfectly airtight ? b. how did you calculate how much you need ? c. does it work ? d. does it reduce temp ? I'm new to all this that why... looking good so far for you though!

@Hilkes_Herbs, thanks for this, truly!
Hilkes_Herbs
Hilkes_Herbscommented6 years ago
Hi Bulbi, thank you for your kind words! I cannot answer all of your questions but I can give explanations about it. a. no, it's not, it is a 80x80x180cm grow tent and it has open holes. But: CO2 is heavier than air and will fall down. Plus the wind of the fans (I use 2) does circle the air enough to give all them plants (5) some CO2 b. I did not calculate it because the box is small. Also the bags are cheaper and last longer than direct CO2. I would NOT recommend this direct CO2 as a hobby grower because it will cost you a lot of money! They say a direct CO2 thing lasts for 1 month. My bag lasts at least for 6 months c. pretty hard to say, honestly. Why is it hard to say? Because I think you can only see the difference with and without CO2 if your grow conditions are exactly the same! I grow so many different strains I cannot tell if it is "really" working. But it works for me I think I have beneftis from it (more harvest in the end hopefully). At least the plants grow VERY VERY fast this time which can be also caused by the CO2! But I changed some things in the box, it's inlikely the CO2 is the main factor why they grow so fast, the biggest thing was changing the substrate. I have always used soil before and this time is my first time with coco (and I f*cking love it!!!!) d. no it does not. BUT: The plants can stand higher temperatures, the books and internet say 32ยฐ C is ok with CO2. Lowering the temperature in my box was one of the biggest problems I had in this grow. When the light (LED) was on during the daytime I have had max temps of 33+ degrees. I changed it then from daytime to nighttime which helped a lot with the high temperatures. And as they grew bigger and bigger they produce more shadows and the heat also dropped some more. If I was wrong in anything (I am no professional though) please correct me! I like knowledge about what I am doing! ๐Ÿ˜€ If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask them. Cheers Closer

@Larimar, thank you man! I have been growing for a while but there is improvement with every grow! I always made mistakes during any grow but the outcome was usually okay. Still I'm learning something new with every grow. It's one of the best hobbies a man can have! ๐Ÿ˜„ I can highly recommend this strain! Let's me kinda do whatever I wanna and it still keeps on growing.

@Stick, so you would recommend more pruning in the 18h grow stage? Or 1 plant less? (They are 5 sisters)

@stephandjo, thank you man but it's a kinda good and easy strain that does allow almost everything you do to them. Not sure if every strain does like so much superscrogging but this strain defo does. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Man, I really like those globe shaped buds. There are a few strains that flower like that. I wonder if they are all Skunk related. Anyway, beautiful shots of the tent this week. They look really, really close!

I wouldnโ€™t worry about one leaf at this point. Itโ€™s probably just due to getting close to the end of life for the plant. She looks beautiful by the way! Iโ€™ll be watching for your harvest report! ๐Ÿ‘
