First time grower and I'm doing it outdoors. The first few weeks I'm going to get it going under a 150-watt grow light. Once the weather is a bit better outside I'll transplant her into a bigger pot. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated 😀

The fan leaves are curling inwards on the tips a little bit -- I assume this is because it's too hot? I'm running a fan on the light to reduce the heat and maybe that's not working the way I thought it would be. The second node is also drooping a lot -- is this because I'm over watering it? Any help would be appreciated! UPDATE #1: It's nutrient burn. 1.8 EC is way too high apparently. I'm going to flush them with distilled water for the next few days until it heals a bit. I'm planning on topping it when the 3rd node comes through. When I do that I'll probably defoliate the lower leaves that are infected. UPDATE #2: Flushing them with distilled water is not the proper solution. Going to let it dry out considerably for the next few days. UPDATE #3: Haven't watered her in 2 days. When I stick my finger down the soil is still relatively moist. Probably won't water her today either. Thinking about topping her once that third node gets a bit higher.

Any idea why the leaves are curling inwards like they are in the last two photos? Is this because it's too hot, or am I giving it too much water? Should my fan be blowing on the plant itself, or the 150-watt light? Thanks.

With the heat we got in Ontario it is just that. Too much light and heat. Try finding some shade for them. That said its all cool and rainy so you should be good. I wouldnt worry too much (mine are doing the same).

I decided to top it (May 27) because this is mostly an experimental run for me and I wanted to see the effects. On May 26, I transplanted it into a 10 gal smart pot because I've been hearing some good things about those. I cut down substantially on the nutrients and so far the burn has gone away.

Week 1: May 11 - May 18 Week 2: May 18 - May 25 Week 3: May 25 - June 1 Week 4: June 1 - June 8 This week I've been doing a lot of HST by pinning the branches down so that the total surface area of the 10 gal pot gets used. I need to look into defoliation techniques soon, but for now I don't think I'll be trimming too much. The weather this past week has been atrocious -- severely overcast days, with super cold nights reaching 11 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit). This stunted her badly, but what can you do.

It seems to do a good job spreading them out so all spots get hit with adequate sun. Small problems with pests -- I notice little spiders on the leaves from time to time and there's obvious bite marks. Need to figure that one out quick. Gave her a bit of defoliation on June 12 to get some light into the hidden nodes.

I'm constantly outside checking them and the odd time I'll notice an aphid which I will pick off (this sometimes damages the plant even more because I have to dig my fingers in just to reach it). So I bought "Safer's End All", I sprayed a couple leafs this morning and returned an hour alter to notice it burnt the plant. I'm wondering if this is because of sunlight hitting the solution, or if it's just a bad product.

It's almost the end of Week 9 but the flowering has begun so next week will be the first official week of flowering. Praying that she will be done by the end of August because I'm moving out and she won't be able to come with me. Really hoping I don't need to pass this off onto a friend/neighbour after all the hard work I've put in lol.

So far, so good. They seem to be fairly resistant to any type of disease -- it's been raining heavily last few days and they got soaked, this was followed by a couple days of severe humidity and I haven't found any bud rot whatsoever. I'm starting the flush on August 13 and will flush them once more before chopping them down.

This is the final week. I'm thinking I'll harvest on Thursday or Friday since I completed their flush yesterday, now I'm just waiting for it to dry out a little bit more and flush the remaining nutrients out. Next update will be on the day I cut her down.

Ok so this ended up being my last week. I made the decision to give them 2 complete flushes which actually took just under 2 full weeks because they got some rain in between. Another reason was because I overheard the next door neighbours complaining about the smell (the wife said something about a sunk living in their backyard, the husband was quick to correct her saying the smell is from weed). I think I grew accustom to the smell -- towards the end, I left for a weekend, came back and was overwhelmed by the smell even from the driveway. They are currently hanging and my next upload will be the harvest .

The last few weeks of the grow I encountered some unavoidable difficulties such as extremely humid weather, lots of rain, and overcast. This was resulted in some bud rot which was unfortunate, but it happens. Overall I learned a lot throughout the process and I'm super happy with the outcome. The LST at the beginning was a bit nerve racking since I wasn't entirely sure how to manipulate the plant -- I only learned this by looking at what others were doing on the Grow Diary platform and having all my questions answered. Had I not done this LST/topping technique it probably would have grown so tall that it wouldn't have been ideal for the backyard, neighbours could already smell it, but the fact I had basically turned it into a bush prevented them from really seeing it. Overall I think it went great and looking forward to the next one! Thanks GD.
