Added strawberry fields soil to bottom 3rd of new transplanted pot hoping that will help during flowering. Plants are short and bushy. Backed off light slightly to 25 inches at 68 % power. PPFD low 400's across canopy. Still pretty unsure on light distance and intensity.

Is it normal for white widow to grow short and bushy and would LST combined with SCROG be a good solution for training the plant?

Youre doing fine! let that baby go for at least 16 weeks, I would let that baby roll 17. you will see that bigg growth week 15-17. i was messing around with fox farm for a while untill I watched an episode of the future cannabis project. They basically described the problems facing all plant growth nowadays. https://youtu.be/i8WRgBPgCjo it was illuminating. "The science of living soil systems."

Short and bushy can be genetics or environment—- hard to say—- with those plants that don’t go as planned—- I just let them be themself! No training

I do LST to some extent on everything grown indoors. I like it better than sea of green and using a net. I use fabric pots and melt holes around the top of the pot as tie down locations. With LST tied to the pot I can take the plant out of the tent or turn it around for better access. Using a net is convenient but I don't like how it blocks access.

At 35 days after sprout, all white widows are 7 to 8 inches in height. Should they be a bit taller for their age?

I think they look great. Much better looking then how my current Zkittlez looked when she was that age. They look happy and healthy. Just give them some time and they will reward you at the end 🌱

Yes they will. But in my opinion you have close to 4 weeks.

Hey man! Sweet stuff. btw - I am running about 700 PPFD with no issues thus far :) oh, and I also stunted one of mine with overwatering and putting it directly into Ocean Forest haha. They say WW is hardy, but she's seems a bit picky to me. AND I also an a bit nervous to LST due to her being so short and bushy...she's in a 5gal and not THAT tall, so the angle will be difficult to pull her over...the tie will be pretty much horizontal. if prefer her taller so the tie is at a 45 degree angle, pulling her down - if that makes sense. I see you have the same issue - you could only pull over her top to expose 1 additional stem.

@Ghostguy1337, correct. Larger light, more area coverage although our readings just under the light would be closer to same readings. And these lights are fairly new to the industry so who knows?? Lol

@medicalguy09, yeah I saw you had the SP 3000 (super nice light - I am getting it for my next grow) - The PPFD didn't make sense initially - how are you getting less PPFD when we are both at the same height and close to power %? However, the SP 3000 gives a super nice even light distribution.. mine is directed to a smaller area...that may explain it

@Ghostguy1337, I also noticed you're using a 150W light and mine is 300W so there may be a slight difference for us in hanging height although all other variables are pretty similar. I'm at 22/23 inches depending on the plant with 75% power and havn't seen any light burn yet but I will be watching closely. The light manufacturer sent me an email and said for veg, it's best between 18-24" @ 70-100% which doesn't really help because that's such a broad range lol. Like, thanks? I've got 5 plants so I'm leaning on the conservative side...
