My soaking method:
1. I made the following soaking solution:
DN 0.3-0.4 ml + H2O2 20 drops per 200 ml of water.
The soaking time in the solution is 16: 00-22: 00 (6 hours).
2. Next, the seed was moved to cotton pads moistened with this solution.
3. Then these cotton pads were placed in a bag with my breath (CO2).
4. The package was placed in a dark place with a temperature of 25-27°C.
05.08.21 at 10: 00 the tip of the root appeared
Good day, friends. ✋
Periodically, friends from the forum who follow my reports suggested that I start growing photoperiod strains. Until recently, speed was a priority for me, so I did not pay attention to these proposals, throwing them away for the future. Well, this future has finally come.
The choice was made in favor of something that I have never tried-sativa. And since the photoperiod strain was chosen, of course I chose the most desirable one ...at the same time, it is most unsuitable for my tent.
Let the battle begin! ✊
I prefer to "charge" coconut with a strong solution:
0.5 L water (150 ppm) + 24 ml (12 A+ 12 B) Sensi grow +12 ml CalMag = 4200 ppm/5.6 pH.
Slowly spilled the entire surface of coco.
500 ml + 2 ml each (Piranha,Voodoo, Tarantula)+ 2 ml Bud Candy+0.2 g Great White (in coco)
Grinspoon is sitting in the greenhouse and getting ready. The lighting is currently natural-through the half-open door of the tent
Day 4
1.0 L water + 2 ml (Piranha, Voodoo, Tarantula)+2 ml DN+0.5 ml Bud Candy
Day 7
The first full-fledged watering
water 2.5 L 135 ppm /7,5 pH ---> 500 ml 850ppm/5,6 pH
Grinspoon has a supply of food, now everything is under control.
The second week has begun.
As the end of the previous week showed, there are enough minerals in the Grinspoon substrate, so the next watering will be only water. I have never grown sativa, so I have only heard about their very moderate appetite. I will check this personally by observing the dynamics of Grinspoon's appetite in comparison with my previous plants (indica and hybrids)
This week I made a mistake - I twisted the dimmer too much and it became too bright in the tent and Grinspoon was upset about this. I had to dim the lights.
There were also problems in the root system, but now I go out for daily watering and the situation seems to be getting better. Soon Grinspoon will return to normal and I will turn on the light again (but I will be more careful)
During the week, Grinspoon had problems with an overabundance of light and the adjustment of nutrients.
As a result, the 3rd pair of leaves stretched too much and I had to use the second one as a foundation.
At the moment (day 18), the tortures are over, waiting for the growth to continue.
Day 20 - "Stress" is Grinspoon's middle name for the current day 😁
I continue to delve into what is happening at the roots. Visually, a feeling of underfeed is created, although the ppm/pH indicators after watering indicate the opposite. Also, I do not understand the too low pH level of the water flowing out after watering, I will try to fix it by watering it with a solution with the correct pH. At the same time, this is not an accumulation of minerals in the pot, since there are only 500-600 ppm inside.
On the one hand, this attempt is quite fast (the main-liner was completed in 10 days), and on the other, do not forget that Grinspoon will tear my box at any opportunity and even with such a short vegetation stage promises to be high.
So I made the last pruning for 8 shoots and set the timer to 11/13 mode.
Yes, friends, vegetation stage is already behind us.
And now the light bloom has begun😎
02.09 I don't like the low pH in the drainage water.
Although Grinspoon digested yesterday's solution well, I began to notice a calcium deficiency on the leaves, most likely caused by a low pH level of 5.3, but not associated with an overabundance of nutrients. But I don't have time to think about how it happened - I'm thinking about how to solve it.
Therefore, today there was a watering with 2 ml of Flawless Finish.
Tomorrow there will be a full watering with all the necessary nutrients
04.09 I started adding basic nutrients and calcium.
The plant reacts well - out of 900 ppm, 430 remains the next day
Grinspoon overcame stress and rushed into growth. Already it does not look like a stump left after mainlining 😉
This is the first plant that behaves mysteriously in terms of pH , but at the same time everything is fine with nutrition.
The transfer of time to flowering was at a height of 22 cm and immediately after pruning. What will be its final height? This question continues to intrigue me
The growth rate of Grinspoon is too strong, an increase of 5-7 cm per day.
Therefore, he attacked him with the fury of the War God Mars!
The following procedures have been carried out in recent days:
- Bud Ignitor is introduced, B52 is removed;
- Daylight hours reduced to 10/14;
- HST-supercropping - 2 times;
- FIM on most shoots;
- Schwazzing - to give more light to all the shoots.
Grinspoon stopped developing for about 2-3 days, but in my reality this is only a plus.
At the moment, there are many new growth points in the internodes, as well as the beginnings of new shoots after FIM.
Day 51 - Grinspoon showed the floor-without surprises. So everything is going according to plan. Now can switch to Bloom
Day 54. Defoliation again to stimulate the growth of shoots in the middle of the bush.
The new shoots are very soft, so at the moment I braid each other, forming a kind of scrog
Day 55. Preventive supplement CalMag 1 time a week.
Delta-9 leaf treatment 0.4 ml (4 ml/l)+ 0.25 ml DN per 100 ml water
The plant is no longer so long in height, I continue to bend new shoots.
My comrades have already managed to name Grinspoon - Hulk, Mushroom, Schwarzenegger, Mantis for his clumsy form :D
And what options do you have when looking at this ever-stretching beast, twisted with knots?
Full-fledged flowering has begun, it's time to remove all the leaves again and give each shoot a chance to catch up with stronger brethren. After 3 weeks, I will carry out a second cleaning during which I will remove, including weak shoots that will definitely not catch up with the rest.
One of the bro following my diary correctly noticed that my nutrient concentrations seem to be large.
Therefore, I will clarify that the Diaries do not display the full picture of my feeding, as I am constantly trying to adjust the solution to the appetite of the plant.
In fact, you don't see ml/l, but rather the total number of milliliters of fertilizers that I pour into the feeding solution.
And again, depending on the appetite of the plant, I mix stimulants, focusing on the total ppm of the solution.
Actually, I have no complaints about Diaries, because it would be too tedious to write feeding in detail for each day and, in my opinion, there is no need when everyone has the opportunity to ask the author a question.
Grinspoon is blooming and developing, good luck to everyone! 👋
Flowering is in full swing - more and more new buds. This further increases my interest.
Podura creatures appeared in the pot. They don't seem to be very dangerous for the plant, but they eat mycorrhiza (my money D:<) - I will evict them (the means of struggle are known)
Grinspoon is in full bloom, though it's not so much buds that are increasing as stigmas 😄
The second defoliation was carried out with great difficulty. The very structure of the buds is prone to looseness and a large number of leaves, and my scrog from Grinspoon raised the complexity to the maximum level. I have worked hard and am quite satisfied with the result - the leaves and underdeveloped shoots have been removed.
How interesting it is to observe this plant.
At first, I, as a child, rejoiced at the seven-finger leaves. Now I enjoy the process of forming buds. And this is really very unusual, friends.
In the meantime, there are 2 months left before the expected harvest, that is, now I have reached that period of time, as if I had transferred the indica from vegetation to flowering.
The nutrition remains stable - 2 ml of each ingredient, but not per liter, but for the total volume of watering.
Plastic clamps have arrived to rotate the branches by 90 degrees. And I can say that for Grinspoon with its huge number of twigs, these are very well suited.
Plus, trichomes appeared everywhere, but the smell did not increase.
My plants in bloom rarely smell strongly, the filter has served for a year and so far shows no signs of fatigue (but spare charcoal is always at hand).
Grinspoon stretches, stretches and stretches again. And it remains for me to braid, braid and braid. It's already in color, but the new shoots remain very flexible, so it's not so difficult yet.
I'm thinking about adjusting feeding, Grinspoon clearly respects nitrogen, judging by the dark green leaves.
While bending the shoots, my hands become sticky with resin. At the same time, the smell is powerful and aggressive, wow, almost goosebumps from organoleptic ecstasy 😍
Some "spikelets-cones" are already beginning to acquire a familiar denser structure
Finally, there was free time. It 's time to do the diary and Grinspoon .
Reduced the nutrient content in the solution and began preparations for defoliation. On the last day, you can notice its beginning (I was tired and couldn't continue, it's better to do it with one-time stress)
Minus another week.
The first stage of "harvest" has passed - the harvest has been successfully moved from the box to the garbage.
Why such cruelty? - Grinspoon has overgrown thoroughly, and for the first time there was no less excess buds mass than leaves.
The process itself turned out to be laborious due to the limited space. Grinspoon tried to drive me away as much as he could - he stank incredibly, glued hands, scissors, scissorhands ... As
a result, now it's not a shapeless green mass, but already a more or less neat lady 🌳
The air passes freely, the remaining inflorescences are illuminated to the maximum (I recently had a dream that I don't cut off how many cones, and they all turn into popcorn in my hands... - I felt like King Midas on the contrary 😀)
I no longer understand what stage of flowering is going on 😅, the main thing is there is progress
After the haircut, as expected, the side cups began to grow (initially squeezed by an extra mass of greenery). I stopped braiding, the growth is no longer so active, and there is enough space. Especially if now the horizontal will be clogged again, and there is no desire to carry out a second sweep. That's it, Grinspoon, grow as you like for now.
I decided to adjust the nutrition - the emphasis on the base and Big Bud, the number of other stimulants decreased.
I checked the trichomes - they began to get cloudy, but for the most part they are transparent (the red shade is from 660 nm diodes). Hmm, I wonder how much more color is left? Due to the unusual structure of buds, it is difficult to navigate, but it is clear that they are still developing, not swelling.
December has come, and Grinspoon is blooming and blooming. Okay, I started hinting at "autumn" to him - I lowered the nitrogen-containing B52, and his ppm compensated by increasing the proportion of Big Bud in the nutrient solution.
When I joked about "there are no separate branches, now there is a crown" and did not think that it would turn out that way. And that's what happened - branching in a narrow space, coupled with training, seems to have really caused the absence of the usual clear outline of buds and the formation of a bud conglomerate on the branch.
Ha, it's getting more and more interesting, it seems like the cycle is so unusually long, but I still don't get tired and wait for the continuation. Wow sativa, sativa, we clearly need to make friends <3
So far, the plans are to keep another 2 weeks on the Big Bud, and then look at the trichomes and it is already possible to transfer to Overdrive (from the beginning of Overdrive to harvest 3 weeks).
Speaking of trichomes, here are photos of the tops of the buds, there are still translucent ones (which means that trichomes are like a tear inside the bush), but do not forget that amber is definitely not worth waiting for here. On the other hand, I will not rush either, this project needs to be brought to perfection so that later I can try these magnificent buds and fly away like a balloon filled with euphoria (*o*)/
Another anniversary. This time we have overcome the milestone of 100 days since the change of the light regime.
By the standards of the usual cycle, it would seem that the harvest should already be close, but no. Grinspoon continues to increase volumes.
During the week, he managed to grow a little in height, while not forgetting to increase the side branches. So in the end, the structure of the plant will be a "broom".
Trichomes are cloudy only at the tops, transparent and transparent-transitioning in the middle (in the photo - the middle). The result of the week - we can only assume about the harvest, we continue to eat Big Bud.
I can say that for the current week, the seemingly ever-blooming Grinspoon has changes. They occurred both noticeably and imperceptibly, and some of them can be summarized together with the behavior of the plant at the moment.
A lot of stigmas appeared on the tops of cols, while Grinspoon released additional side branches, which further increased the mass of "popcorn". Although there is not so much of it and at this stage I prefer not to expose the plant to severe stress anymore;
Continues to slowly but surely gain altitude. And I keep bending the longest stakes into the horizontal plane. Now this leads to the beginning of a mass of twigs-buds, instead of releasing new shoots. So he is still thinking about the finish.
Speaking of Grinspoon buds, here are some already attractive in appearance. And the individual buds, which did not grow up to the main cols, but were well lit, are also quite dense.
There are enough transparent trichomes, but muddy ones are already found all over Greenspan. Another half a week or a week and you can think about Overdrive. In principle, it is similar to passport data, Grinspoon showed the floor on the 50th day and bloomed on about the 60th day, the expected cycle will come out for 160 days (with harvest after the New Year holidays).
Watering, unfortunately, due to work, it had to be shifted to 00:30 - 2.5 hours before the night of Grinspoon. Okay, then there will be another schedule, and judging by the appearance and indicators, Grinspoon did not notice this much.
Good day to all lovers of slow dancing! The show "Dancing with Greenspoon" is in touch with you :D
And I can say that this multi-part show is not ending at the moment - Grinspoon remains ever-blooming and ever-growing, but there is definitely a happy ending in the plans. During the week I watched trichomes - maturation is not very fast. I have decided on the terms - until the end of 2021 I will sit on Big Bad, and then on Over. As a result, the cycle should come out approximately 170 days, almost half a year of pleasure.
With each passing week, the branches begin to resemble familiar cols more and more....well, except for the kind of cols themselves, which simply turn from a disparate bouquet into a full-fledged "broom".
I imagine how wonderful it will be when this splendor ripens (it should be no worse in effect than the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, or at least like a rejuvenating apple).
In the meantime, I congratulate everyone on the upcoming holidays, more buds and less mold in the coming year! Ave Jah 🙌
Due to the New Year holidays, the end of the week came out somewhat chaotic, with a schedule for "maybe". Nevertheless, we smoothly entered with Grinspoon in 2022, finally going into Overdrive.
I quickly examined the trichomes - in a week there were more cloudy ones, and less transparent ones. They are already beginning to get cloudy, including the bottom, which means that the maturation period was determined correctly (the difference in a few days is the level of error).
I stopped restraining the growth of branches, so some of them broke away from the main "carpet" by 15-20 cm. But this is no longer frightening, because finally the tops began to turn into separate buds.
It feels like in the last week the appetite of the bush has only increased - I will continue to feed phosphorus and potassium with emphasis.
A week has passed on Overdrive, Grinspoon continues to increase the width and a little height, so I periodically raise the lamp, since there is definitely a reserve for 2 weeks.
I examined the trichomes and came to the following result.
There are both muddy and transparent ones, let's see how the situation will change in two weeks, but I think it should be good enough already. However, there is no time to try, so I will find out after the harvest.
How much will come out by weight is even difficult to imagine, since it's just a mass of greenery from twigs of leaves and inflorescences, the feeling of assimilation of fingers and scissors is getting closer and closer. After harvesting, I will probably put the buds in separate twigs
Having tasted the lower parts (popcorn) of Grinspoon, I look forward to the end of next week. The first sample of bud-twigs was interesting and I already want to continue, only after normal drying.
If not touched, there is no smell. If the comfort zone is violated, it gives out an aggressive smell of classics and citrus peel, as the smell will weaken a little additionally with some sweetness.
There doesn't seem to be much resin, but the stickiness index is clearly at a height, some shoots are dried directly on the bush due to lack of light.
The last examination of the trichome showed the results that can be seen in the photo. As they say, what has grown has grown, now it's just maturing.
And these skinny buds are beautiful in their own way.
A couple of shoots are burned by a lamp - not always "the more light the better", the first time it turned out so much. Albino buds are another "achievement" in the collection.
Finally reached the finish line - next time wait for the harvest report.
Somehow I can't believe that he is already so close...
So the long-awaited harvest has come. This time I performed all the necessary rituals for self-satisfaction - I poured cold water once and gave a day of darkness.
In honor of this event, I took Grinspoon out of the tent, at first the shape of the square was preserved ...
But then the bush "exhaled" and straightened up.
Some colas really resemble a broom. Others are quite compact.
I cut everything into separate branches and threw it to dry on the already familiar improvised dryers. That's where I stopped, in a week I will trim and then send it for fermentation.
Weighing
Drying lasted a week, then another week of trimming. However, out of the whole week, this process took 4 days for 30 minutes and reached the remainder on Friday. I dried up and corrected the situation Integra Boost - now they crackle when pressed, but they do not break, but they are crushed (as far as the structure allows).
And bada-booms 🥁
180 grams of buds, 1.6 g/w. Grinspoon surprises to the end, I did not think to collect more than 100 grams due to the structure of the cones of the plant.
Results
I am satisfied, very much so. Yes, it was long, but interesting. The harvest pleased, the effect also did not disappoint.
For a while, this will be a personal record for the duration of cultivation, since there are no such long-flowering mastodons among the stock of seeds.
But someday I will definitely return to sativa, but in the meantime I will enjoy the harvest
