8/20 - Started 4 Critical Purple Auto seeds from Growers Choice. I soaked the seeds in water for 17 hours. All 4 did sink with some nudging along way. I then placed in a wet paper towel in an open zip lock bag. All of this took place over a heat mat set at 80 degrees. The sprouts were planted in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil amended with 10% perlite. I pre watered the soil since it was so dry. My hope was that this would prevent the sprout from being disturbed by watering.
8/23 - 3 of the seeds have sprouted so far. No signs of the 4th yet.🤞
8/24 - The last seed sprouted late today 🌱🙏
8/31 - 1 week today! Perfectly green, not too leggy, praying a little. Fox Farm Ocean Forest says no additional fertilizer is needed for the first month, so that's gonna save some work for me.
9/11 - I topped all four plants this week. I had gradually raised the light power to 100 but it seems that the leaves are experiencing light sensitivity. I decreased all the way back to 50 and will gradually raise the power back to maybe 75. I plan to top one more time before flowering starts. LST will begin in week 4. Fox Farm feed schedule will begin in week 4 also.
9/14 - Topped the plants one last time. All four started showing pistols this week. Very unexpected to say the least. I know this would be considered pre flower, but it's still very early compared to the last grow. Explosive growth this week 💪💪🌱
9/21 - The plants are 4 weeks old today. I low stress trained and lollipopped all 4 plants. The 2 separate toppings that I did have now yielded 4 tops per plant. Gnats have made their way into the tent, but yellow traps are already in place. Slight nitrogen deficiency showed up and I fertilized. Didn't quite get the month of care free maintenance that Fox Farm promised from their Ocean Forest soil.
9/28 - Flowering is moving along quickly! Slight nute deficiency has been handled by beginning Fox Farm schedule. LST went well and has provided the stretch I needed to fill in canopy holes. I should have 8 square feet of canopy in another week. Topping 2 times resulted in 4 main tops per plant. Overall, these plants are healthy and strong 💪!!!!
10/5 - The plants are doing well. Slight nutrient burn on leaf tips. I'm going back to one feed per week. Buds are coming in very thick and the smell is very strong. About 5 weeks left!
10/16 - Flowering continues and I can't wait! The buds are forming dense and large. All 4 plants are very different from one another in appearance. The smell is getting a bit stronger and the plants are all healthy.
10/22 - Nutrient deficiency has struck! I went out of town for a week and had someone water them for me. This condition popped up while I was gone. Looks like nitrogen deficiency. I fed them and then heavily watered 2 days later. Fingers crossed!
10/27 - The plants have recovered from whatever deficiency they were facing. I've had healthy bud development over the last week. It still looks like the yield will be far less than a lb. Let's hope I get the 350 grams per square meter that Growers Choice claims.
11/2 - The plants are supposed to have only one week left in flowering, but one of them is going to take longer for sure! The other three are showing great flowers with lots of red and a decent amount of frost. Can't wait to harvest!
11/9 - I am not happy. Plants are brown. I have cut off nutrients and have started flushing. Browning up of all the leaves, hopefully because it's near the end of flowering . Removed all LST and letting them finish naturally, also no more defoliation.
11/16 - Almost done!!!! Big firm buds and filling in nicely. Flushing every other day until harvest. No feed of any kind and the leaves are showing it. But the buds are benefiting nicely.
11/19- I've had fun growing these girls! I've learned a lot about this strain and even more about autoflowers. I've decided to grow 2 Sour Kush and 2 Critical Purple for the next cycle, can't wait!
