Getting very, very close now! Been checking her daily, with a cheap little 5€ magnifying glass. Started a flush a bit soon so added a few nutes to this watering, but might just let her dry out now and then check if she's done. Im looking for

The problem you have is the size of the pots, a good flush once every 2-3 weeks is also a good thing , some of the leaves will naturally fade and go yellow as the plant pulls more nutrients from the soil , what is the ph ? 6 might be a little low 6.5 is perfect πŸ‘
BigDaddyK
BigDaddyKcommented8 years ago
@aRecreationalist, that's why I keep it closer to 6.5 it's much easier to avoid swings πŸ‘

@BigDaddyK, I did the mistake of not checking my soils pH before starting. So was only when I had problems that I noticed the run off was below 5, even with 8 pH water. But a big dose of Dolomite seemed to work :) They do, but for some reason their nute schedule have the Grow added all the way through the flowering as well, see the picture for week 6. But I'll try removing it from the feeds, and do the next with a shot of Cal-Mag. Can't wait until I get there and get some gorgeous ones growing, but so far I'm liking the challenge as well 😎

@aRecreationalist, I would never go low in soil , I think to myself what would nature do ? I use canna nutrients so there are separate bottles for veg and flower, I'd imagine biobizz do a grow and a bloom - it's very easy once you get the environment correct πŸ‘

Nice harvest , did u say your water is ph 9 ???

BigDaddyKcommented8 years ago
@aRecreationalist,buy a cheap ph tester off eBay πŸ‘

aRecreationalistcommented8 years ago
@BigDaddyK, I only have the drop tester, but it shows as the deepest blue color when testing straight from the source. I used a fair bit of pH down on this grow, but have switched over to no regulation on my new grow (since biobizz doesn't do well with it). And thank you :)

@EmeraldReverie,thank you. Really enjoy documenting the grows. Been thinking about getting a decent macro lens for my Canon eos.

Hi, i see that you want to top your plant, i wouldn't suggest doing that though since autoflowers only grow for 6 weeks which means they don't have a lot of time to recover from it

@aRecreationalist, Good thing πŸ‘ She's looking healthy now aswell

@Bstoner, Hey hey, yeah you're right. I only got around to read up ifter after I made the dairies but have opted to just let her grow now :)

I have had this a few times - deformed and or discoloured leaves , I thought it was either a root issue or feeding nutrients too early - but it is possible to just carry on , I would wait until there Are more nodes before I topped πŸ‘πŸŒ±

@BigDaddyK, just bumping message to see if you can give a little diagnostic tip. She looked fine just a day ago, and now it looks like I might have some def πŸ˜“

@BigDaddyK, I'll tough it out and hope she makes it through. The newer leaves already look a lot better, and will hold off with the topping then :)

I'm no expert, but I would have to say that it's a pH issue. Flush and water with pH water at 6.3-6.7 is what I would do. I wouldn't top it until problem is fixed. Don't want to cause the baby anymore stress. Best of luck bro!
DesertBoy760
DesertBoy760commented8 years ago
@aRecreationalist, I would definitely start low
aRecreationalist
aRecreationalistcommented8 years ago
@DesertBoy760, Using Biobizz Speedgrow LightMix with perlite mixed in. I'm heading out tomorrow to buy a new pot, current doesn't have bottom drains. But will attempt to fix without a flush, and just water with a high end ph solution (7) and test drain ph. If it isn't leveled out after 2 waterings I'll flush. Hopefully this will stress her a little less. Not sure if I should add a low nute mix (1mL/L) though, any opinions? :)

@aRecreationalist, If i'm not mistaken, The reason you put in water phed at 8 and run off is coming out at 5 is because your soil might be trying to buffer itself to its desired level. What soil are you using? That was happening to me too. So i went out and bought a ph digital meter and ph down "my tap water comes out at 7". As soon as i got home 'late at night' i flushed the fuck out of it WITH WATER AT A PH LEVEL OF 6.3. Let it drain then feed it with its necessary nutrients, checked run off and was at 6.4. That worked for me, And remember to check you ph AFTER you add nutrients. Never BEFORE!!!!!

Also, your plant looks so sweet. She looks fat and ready for a good session man. So jealous and so happy for you !

@aRecreationalist, aah damn that sounds sweet and sour man, at least you got a little taste man. I can't wait to see the buds poke out their hairy heads and let me smell the terp.

aRecreationalistcommented8 years ago
@Indianbud, had a little sneak smoke and she is very potent (my tolerance is also low, haven't smoked in a long time). Sadly I got called out on a work trip and had to leave the buds in the paperbag for a little too long. Hoping a Boveda pack can help re-hydrate it for the curing (now around 50%, aiming for 60-65%)

How come ? I thought the light spectrum of CFL bulbs was better. The reason I ask is because I'm trying to grow for the first time and I'm using a 15w 6500k CFL bulb I'm so confused man. I don't whether to go LED of CFL. I guess it's just first time jitters but what would you recommend from experience anyway ?
BigDaddyK
BigDaddyKcommented8 years ago
@Indianbud,led have much better penetration , CFL s need to be close to plants and lots of them πŸ‘

aRecreationalistcommented8 years ago
@Indianbud, oh man. I don't have much experience. But what are you expecting to be able to harvest, will it be a fully indoor grow or just supplemental light for nights, and what is your budget? 😌
Indianbud
Indianbudcommentedweek 108 years ago
Well, I've been doing a lot of my own research and seeing a lot of DIYs to get the lighting and watering in place. Thing is, I'm a doctor in internship stage in India and I try to keep the medicine as natural as I can, which is another reason why I'm trying grow my own and hopefully it'll be my topic of research in future years. That being said, it's still frowned upon in India and I'm trying to change that thought in my own way. My monthly budget is of about 2K and that's also stretching it really thin. I provide sunlight whenever possible and keep the CFL light as a supplement for night. Also, I've realized that what I have is a sativa strains and since they're not hybrids or indicas, I'm going to have a longer flowering period so I'd say that I'm looking to harvest around September or October. I tried to get feminised seeds from one of the seed companies as well as sensei pH perfect supplements cause the water quality sucks too and the right grow lights but it's all out of budget man. That's the reason I haven't started a diary cause I can't even fill.up half the boxes that they have here. This is like an all personal grow but I love marijuana so fucking much, it changed my life for the positive man. So I really really want to do this, purely for the love of weed and I'm hoping this grow will allow me to gather some money and help me set up my next grow, which will hopefully be with hybrid or feminised seeds and with the right supplements. I thought of starting crowd funding, but turns out that most people would rather smoke it in secret than be associated with it in any way, so I'm all on my own bruv :p. Also this is my 4th try with seeds I picked out of previous scores, so I'm hoping this finally works out.

@Indianbud, I'd say keep growing as best you can now then. Slowly research and plan your next purchase, figure out what you need first and what will help you most. Without a stable strong light source, like HID or LED, you won't need that much nutrients at first. Aim for some excellent soil, smart pots or air pots. Not sure about the water in India, maybe there's something to find via google, but you might have to use something else than tap water. There's a lot of reading material on both CFL and LED, and would definitely recommend reading up (especially on LED since there's a lot of difference on the spectrum and wattage). But you should start a diary, will be easier to get some guidance on the grows and will help you improve 😎 Also there's a lot of good auto strains, with shorter seed < weed periods and less strict light requirements. Worth trying out if you can get a hand on some seeds 😊

Thanks a lot for the advice bruv. I keep updating myself and reading as much as I can about the light sources and nutrients and keep following the diaries. These really are a great help so I'm definitely going to start my own. I think I get some really helpful tips from this entire forum, plus I'm kind of excited to share my set up of my own grow room with only the equipment I have. It's a little intimidating to have so many growers cultivating marijuana at such a professional level but I think what I have I kind of eccentric and if it works, I would definitely want to share this with others and even inspire them to grow just to have the pure of joy of being self dependant. Also, I just found out that my friends got some sick seeds from Amsterdam and I'm going to get my hands on those ASAP. Apparently they're great white shark and chem dawg so I can't wait man. Those strains are perfect for an indoor grow.
